As far as timeliness, responsiveness, and customer service– these guys are great. Jason came out the same day to quote the work, when I couldn’t get other companies to come in the same week — or give a concrete answer on when work would be completed. We had large downed limbs and other limbs threatening the house, and needed all of our way-​overgrown hedges brought down several feet.
JW actually had the guys come after I accepted the bid, the SAME DAY, and finish most of the work– they completed the next day. This was after a big storm, so they were really busy but fit us in anyway. They’re pricey, though, and you have to be willing to pay the higher price for work you need done immediately. They noticed a split tree while they were working on the property and added that to the bid, I’m very grateful that they took the time to look around and look for future problems. All in all– you often get what you pay for. I’m very happy I used them this time– Jason even went by after the work was completed and paid for to get «after» pics for me. The «minus a star» is for the price which is higher than many other landscaping companies I’ve worked with.

They quoted $ 1200 to cut trees and overgrown brush in my backyard, but wouldn’t include raking the leaves. Another service did it all – including leaf raking – for $ 600. Definitely get alternate quotes if you think their quote is too high.

I called JW Tree and Land around late afternoon. My call was answered immediately by Jason and he offered to swing by my house after his current job. He made it before it got dark and did a walk through of the work I needed to get done in my yard.
I like that he was able to find little things I would have overlooked like the small trees that were growing like weeds at the side of my house and a small tree that was growing in the center of a bush I never even saw before he pointed it out. I had gotten a cheaper quote from a competitor, but I decided to go with Jason because of his eye for detail. I enjoy that he has a legit form for his quotes and you get the breakdown of the estimate on paper for you to keep with all his info.
He offered to give me a discount if I was able to go with him the next day because my job fit into his schedule. I didn’t feel pressured, but I appreciated his ability to communicate and that both of us were able to feel like we were getting a good deal. He is easy to contact and very quick to respond no matter the time of day which shows me he’s a hard worker and he takes his job seriously.
His team came out to my house the morning of the following day and they were finished before 4pm. They did a wonderful job cleaning up and even cleaned the leaves out of our gutters which I really appreciated because we don’t own a ladder and it’s been stressing me.
Overall something I’ve been putting off for a while was taken care of fairly painlessly and I appreciate the ease at which it was done. I feel like we were given a fair price and the team works very hard and professionally. Everyone was friendly which never hurts and our house looks much happier. I have nothing negative to say about JW T&L and I would recommend them to others. I’ve seen other reviews where people were irritated about missed meetings, but I work from home so it wasn’t an issue for me. They started work at my house earlier than I expected, but for me that wasn’t a problem.

Jason did a great job removing a huge oak tree that fell in my yard. I had to tell him how I wanted it cut by phone and I was so impressed when I saw his work as he had done exactly as I wanted when I visited the property today. His price was very competitive and he left the yard very clean removing all the the debris.

I spoke with Jason about cutting up and removing a large tree branch that had fallen after a storm. This branch was very large, but from a pear tree so we’re not talking a redwood or something. He went out to look at it and quoted me $ 400 to cut it up and haul it away. Really?! I called a another tree service (also from Unilocal) and they quoted me $ 150. That’s a pretty big gap. Then after I canceled my appointment with JW without mentioning the reason, they immediately offered to lower their price by $ 100. Again, I’d never mentioned their price being too high or the other company. I think they knew they were overpriced and they were right. My suggestion, always get a 2^nd opinion.

By happenstance, called JW Tree when I was looking for cedar mulch delivery. Chatted with Jason and mentioned a large tree in the back that we’ve been thinking of having cut and removed (since that’s what they do). He came by later that day to give us a (reasonable) quote to remove the tree (which leaned towards the house), in addition to trimming our oak of its suckers, and clearing some overgrowth behind our fence. Thank goodness we had the job done before all the rains came. I don’t think the tree would’ve held with the ground being so saturated. His team worked methodically and was careful not to damage our recently installed landscaping and deck. Recommend them highly.

I called and spoke to owner about having 3 trees cleaned up and a few shrubs taken out. I was original told they could do the job a few days later and would be there the next day to offer a quote, but no one showed up. I called back a few times and left a message and he finally called me back the next day. The owner did apologize and came out the following day. The original quote for having 3 medium sized trees and a few shrubs pulled was $ 550, minus a $ 100 discount for finding on Unilocal?It was about $ 200 more than another company I spoke to so I had to renegotiate price. I was told they would be there the next morning but again, NO SHOW! I was pissed. When the guys came out to do the job, it took all of 45 minutes and ended up costing me $ 350. Trees look real nice but extremely overpriced for a job taking less than an hour in my opinion.

Had a great experience with Jason and his team. Needed some serious oak pruning. Jason came out on a Monday and gave an estimate and his team was out on Tuesday to complete the work. Neither during the estimate or execution did I feel like I was being gouged nor did I feel like they were doing any clear cutting. The result was a great undercut trim and they left all the trees looking full and balanced. I really appreciated the expediency of the crew and also the walk through at the end describing the work they did to make sure it was everything I had requested.

As good as it gets. I had a great experience with JW Tree & Land. They were quick to respond get a quote and then set up an appointment the same week. They gave me a call before they showed up and by the time I arrived at the house they were more than half way done. The yard was clean when they left and they were very efficient! I had a great experience and would use them again.

I found JW through a co worker so said they work quick, hard, and are very well priced. I called on a Friday asking for an appt at 4 on Tuesday bc I was about to go out of town for the weekend. My appt was made and he said that he could even meet that Friday. But I wasn’t available. I text him on Monday saying I came back early from my trip and that I was available the rest of the day for an estimate on our two trees. He said he’d be by from 3 – 4. No show. I got a call at 630 saying he forgot and that our original appt was still scheduled for the next day. He mentioned a few times that he could meet earlier Tuesday but I told him that I wouldn’t be available until 4 due to work. Got home Tuesday at 350. 530 rolls around and no call no text. I had my husband call to cancel our appt because two days in a row there was no courtesy call to let us know they would be late. He did say was on his way but it was too little too late. I understand if business is keeping you busy I really do. But if you’re gonna be late please at least call or text. Or even better tell me you’re very busy and can’t make an appt until you’re more readily available later in the week.

Jason came to give an estimate in the early afternoon. By early evening, the team removed two trees, cleared ALL of our terrible bushes, removed old branches I had stacked up in our side run and thinned two large oaks. The team left no mess and blew and removed all remaining leaves. Our house looks completely different, and I am so thankful for the speed and quality of their work. We will use them again next year.
Jason was a very friendly guy, and the price was completely reasonable, a borderline steal.

Got a quote the same day I called. Co-​owner Jason came out. Super nice guy. Crew arrived the next day at 7:30am. Price was right. Crew cleaned up all debris. Sprayed for wilt. Cleaned ball moss. Blew off roof. My live oaks look tight. They have no insurance, but owner has waiver — just make sure they sign it — I spaced on that. Will be calling JW again.

Jason came when he said he would for an estimate — which was incredibly fast. Next he provided a fair written estimate in a timely fashion but still taking time to discuss what would/​could be done with my yard in detail until he could tell I was satisfied. He even went into a few options on some «problem areas» I had brewing.
His crew was a very friendly yet down to business bunch, who couldn’t appreciate that!?! They did a very nice job and cleaned up everything. They made my yard SO MUCH NICER for a reasonable price and were a good group of guys to boot.
TIP: Send him a text message. These guys work in outdoor, loud settings. If you have a simple message or question TEXT.

They were finishing my neighbor’s tree trimming and I approached them to remove some extra brush I had that I needed disposing of. They helped me for a reasonable fee. My neighbor is satisfied and so am I. Professional and courteous to boot.

A year after giving them a 5-​Star review for excellent service, I contacted JW for a complete tree trimming. I’m sorry to say it might be hit or miss here. Because he (or whoever answered his phone) has missed more than once.
After our appointment time (s) were confirmed with no-​show & no-​call, days went by. I thought «Maybe he lost his phone or lost my contact info.»

So here I am, back on Unilocal,looking for someone who not only does the job but shows up when they say they will. Or at least calls/​texts to say I’m sorry I couldn’t make our appointment (s).
After giving them more than enough time to redeem themselves, I didn’t feel right leaving my original review without an update.

These guys did an excellent job trimming my trees and removing two trees. I had a tree that was about to fall on top of my house. I was very worried that when it was cut down it might go crashing down the wrong way. After assuring me that they knew what they were doing plus showing me their insurance I hired them. I’m very glad I did and fully recommend them to anyone

I contacted JW Tree & Land Service after my previous tree service failed to return my calls. I filled out the form on JW’s website and although it took Jason a couple of days to contact me, he was able to meet me at my home that same afternoon. We walked around my yard and I showed him what I wanted done to each tree. He took meticulous notes and even offered to clear out some poison ivy and haul off the bamboo I had cut down the weekend before. We agreed on a price and he told me his crew could be there the next day.
The next morning his crew showed up bright and early and got to work. They had the 4 trees in the backyard trimmed in no time and cleaned up as they worked. The trees in the front were a lot taller and they took their time roping the limbs and lowering them down so they wouldn’t fall on or near my house. They also did a great job cleaning up the front yard and even raked my flower bed.

I found JW Tree Service on Unilocal and decided to give them a call based on the number of good reviews they had. Jason, the co-​owner with another guy that works with the crew, answered my call and set a time to come by and give me a bid that day. He is very knowledgeable and personable, and he gave me a very reasonable bid.
The crew showed up first thing the next morning and got to work It was clear they had been well trained and knew what they were doing. I was SO impressed with how careful and thorough they were! They tied off every limb. And everyone was very polite and respectful.
They did a beautiful job of cleaning up afterwards, leaving my yard, deck, driveway and beds tidier than they found them. And they even skimmed the leaves and branches out of my pool.
From my experience, I would say it is a top notch company with excellent customer service.

Great experience. I called JW on a Monday afternoon, and had a walk through set up for the next morning. By Wednesday at noon, the job was done and done well.
I had a large vine grown into a tall oak all the way to the top. This thing was a menace but they safely removed it with no problems. They hauled everything away and left the place clean.
