Kalena Marie Events

When I first got engaged I thought I’d only be needing a day of coordinator, but after realizing we weren’t going to be having it at a hotel, country club, or anything of the normal I knew we couldn’t do this alone. We ended up picking the Old Mint in downtown San Francisco as our wedding venue.
Kalena was the most helpful! She was full of suggestions and after meeting her for coffee for the first time we knew that she was the planner for us. She is easygoing and fun, but gets the hard job done. Once we had her as our minds were put at ease. She kept us on track for the wedding and was always willing to answer any crazy question I threw at her. Kalena was on top of everything I seemed to have forgotten about with everything that was going on. We had several meetings with her and each time she made sure we left with no questions. She helped us with the contracts and keeping everything organized. She made a day of schedule and everything went great!
Kalena listens to your ideas and will help make your ideas become a reality. I kid you not, she set up the wedding decorations on the table like a champ. All I had to do was leave all the candlesticks, candles, and pumpkins at the venue the day before. We sent her a few examples of the idea we were going for and she nailed it on the day of the wedding. We also hired her for some design work for the menus, table names, and name cards for the tables. Those all turned out amazing. I still have my place card with my new name on it. Oh and how can I forget she even did the bouquets for the bridesmaid and I, and the corsages for the mothers. She was amazing! She knew I wanted nothing to do with real flowers and on the day of our wedding we had no real flowers. It was PERFECT.
The day of the wedding she was the one who collected the gifts and decorations which we later picked up from her. She made sure that we weren’t stressed about small things like that on our big day. Everyone can’t stop talking about how different and unique our wedding was and without Kalena it would not have been as perfect as it was.
If you’re thinking about hiring a planner Kalena is the only one you will ever need. She really gets to know you on a personal level. I know I’ll keep in touch with her because when you hire Kalena you’re also gaining a new friend.

When I got engaged, the first advice my sister gave me was, «Get a planner. It will make your wedding day run so much more smoothly.» She couldn’t have been more right, and I’m so happy with the planner we chose!
Kalena’s attention to detail is unparalleled. She read through all of our vendor contracts and knew the ins and outs of each one of them, so when I would forget a small detail she would still remember it. She also knows a lot about wedding traditions and had good advice whenever we had a question. For instance, when we were practicing having my parents walk me down the aisle at our rehearsal, she knew which side of me each parent should stand on. I didn’t even know there was a right way to do that!
Most importantly, Kalena comes with reinforcements. When our chair rental vendor showed up with only one man to set up 100 chairs, Kalena called up her brother and had him come help set up chairs so everything else could be unloaded from the rental truck and could be ready in time for the ceremony.
Kalena also stayed past midnight and helped my friends and family mop our venue after the wedding! I had no idea we would be required to do this in order to get our cleaning deposit back, but Kalena was a trooper throughout.
Yes, my wedding day had a few bumps in the road, but what made them bearable and not such a big deal was Kalena’s calm, professional presence.

Everyone always says that something will go wrong at your wedding and that it can’t be perfect, but I am fortunate to say that mine was perfect and hands down because of Kalena.
I originally wasn’t going to hire a wedding coordinator, and was just exploring the idea because I didn’t want to have to ask family members to help me set up things the day of my wedding. I came across Kalena on Craigslist when I was just looking for someone to help me set up all of my stuff. From the moment we met she made me feel comfortable and at ease with her. I spoke with a few planners before her, but as soon as I spoke to Kalena I knew she was the one for me. I didn’t know if I really needed a planner at that time, but convinced myself to go for it just to take of some added stress off the day of– I had no idea just how detrimental this decision was to my wedding at that time. This was hands down the best decision I made!
When it came down to the month before my wedding Kalena took care of every detail. We met about a month before and went over all the details of the wedding. She brought up things that I had not even thought of like how I was going to bring home all of the decorations. She came up with a day of timeline which included my wake up time to the time the last shuttle departed– both mine and my husband’s schedule, and the vendors and venues schedule. She confirmed with all of my vendors that they would show up at the proper time to the venue, so I did not have to stress about this. She also ran our rehearsal the day before so everyone knew what to do the day of.

When the day came there was not one glitch. Kalena even came to the rescue with an emergency kit right before the wedding because I cut myself trying to put the corsage on my mother-​in-​law and got a little bit of blood on my dress. Everyone at my wedding commented on what an amazing job Kalena did, I am still hearing great things about her from my friends. She even took some of the decorations home with her in her car because there was not enough room in the other cars for all of the decorations we had. Because of Kalena, I had the best day of my life, and I got to enjoy every second of it stress free!
No matter what kind of bride you are or what kind of wedding you want to have, Kalena is there to support you throughout the entire process and play the role you need her to play. I cannot thank her enough for helping me have what truly was the best and most perfect day of my life.

Don’t be sad, be glad (you hired Kalena)! Kalena was amazing, from responding quite quickly to the numerous inane e-​mails I sent (both before and directly following our wedding) to sitting for several hours with me making a detailed «Day-​of» timeline. I pride myself on being a very self-​sufficient person and originally thought, «Hey, I can handle all of those tiny details on the day-​of and leading up to the day,» but hiring Kalena may have been the best decision I have made to date (other than marrying my now-​husband, obviously). Instead of frantically trying to figure out who is going to cue the musicians to change music or trying to push it on that aunt you haven’t seen in twelve years, you will rest assured that Kalena will be there paying attention to those details. She is not only a complete delight to work with but really knows her stuff. She remembers things you didn’t even know existed. I can’t recommend her enough. Having Kalena behind the scenes will allow you to fully enjoy your event (whatever it may be) to the fullest. INVEST!

Kalena is awesome. She was able to help me plan everything about my big day down to the smallest detail. She even created room layouts, different chair seatings, called my vendors for me … you name it, she was willing to help. I was on the fence about even getting an event planner (being rather crafty myself), but it was the best decision I made in my wedding. Hire Kalena for your wedding coordinator, you won’t regret it!

Kalena is spectacular, and very professional. We hired her as a day-​of coordinator for our wedding, she made sure all the logisictcs and timelines were in place leading up to our wedding, which led to a wonderful and smooth event. She handled payments to vendors, ensured/​oversaw cleanup, and thought of all the details and asked great questions before the day to make sure all the finishing touches were just right. She also served as a great resource and was very knowledgable when we needed help with finding additional vendors, as we planned our wedding from across the country. Would highly recommend her!
