After reading the reviews I figured I was doomed. So not the case. It was a great experience. Lots of choices and I found what I wanted and more. Rachel was great! Awesome customer service. The wait was nothing. I didn’t have enough time to look around before being helped.

I’ve purchased a lot of eyeglasses and sunglasses at this location, and it’s always been a good experience. Easy shopping, good service for frames and lenses, and quick turnaround (mine usually have to be special ordered for various reasons). But I went in today to get some new frames, and… the place seems empty. The selection is much, much smaller than in the past, especially in the sunglasses department. I guess they’re just not carrying anything but Ray-​ban and Oakley. Mostly Oakley. No more Maui Jim, Persol, Serengeti, or really anything interesting. Eyeglasses frames are limited, too. On the men’s side, it’s almost exclusively Oakley, Polo Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, and Armani. Which is fine and all, but… there just isn’t much variety.
I’m not anti-​Luxottica or anything, but this store in particular just has an entire empty wall where there used to be a pretty wide sunglasses selection. And then they moved the remaining Oakley and Ray-​Ban frames to the side, taking away display space for eyeglasses. The result being that there are like three or four styles repeated over and over, and I wasn’t able to find anything I liked. I’ve been buying new glasses every year for over a decade, and that’s the first time I’ve ever really felt that there weren’t enough frames for me to find something.
So now I’m off to scour the city for other retailers who have some great frames and (importantly) are covered by my vision insurance. There are great boutiques around town, but it often means ordering straight from a manufacturer that isn’t covered.

Loved the speedy yet patient service. The entire team was very helpful especially Debbie. In and out in 45 mins with new glasses.

Horrible customer service. I was told 20−30min wait and that I was next in line when I walked in. I waited for over an hour skipped several times because «my purchase will take over 20min». I wouldn’t recommend this location for purchasing.

Walked in and not one person greeted or tried to help. I am pregnant and needed my glasses. I stood there about 4 minutes before deciding to walk out. Will not be doing business there ever again.

The service is great, but their workmanship is EXTREMELY POOR. After 2 tries, I’m taking it to another LensCrafters. The lenses look as if I cut it myself with gaps all around & both lenses are a different shape. I’ve always had perfection from this company in the CA & DC areas. If they can’t deliver quality they should not charge premium prices.

Bought new frames here since they are open late and on weekends which is convenient for my schedule. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy. There were about 6 or 7 employees working. They have a sign in sheet for when it is very busy, so look for that when you first walk in or else you will be waiting awhile. Nobody approached me walking in or told me about the sign in until I was ready to purchase; however, I only ended up waiting about 10 minutes to be helped, so not a huge deal. The selection isn’t enormous but it’s decent. Personally, I like a somewhat restricted selection because too many options becomes exhausting. I liked the freedom of trying on the different glasses and not being rushed by an associate. The lady that put my order through was friendly and was able to tell what my lenses were in my old glasses in 2 seconds of looking at them because I wanted the same for my new glasses. There was a hiccup with a hold on my insurance but the associate guided me through and it only took two phone calls to resolve it and get my glasses. If they have the lenses in stock, they will have your glasses ready in an hour. Overall a pleasant experience buying the frames and having my new prescription filled. I also looked up online pricing for my frames and lenscrafters was actually offering them at the lowest cost, go figure!

I went to LensCrafters to get my pupillary distance measurement because it is needed for ordering lenses online. My prescription didn’t have this information on it already. I tried calling Pearle Vision (in another state) where I had my last lens prescription filled and they refused to give me this information. So I went to the LensCrafters instead. They gave me the measurements without charging me anything. They definitely got my respect. Pearle Vision lost of theirs today.

I waited over 40 minutes while browsing for someone to acknowledge my presence (and of course actually help me). I won’t be coming back to any LensCrafters as a result. With so many choices in Austin, there is no excuse for such poor service.

If you have plenty of time to waste and do not need your glasses in the near future this is the place to go. I dropped my reading glasses that I purchased from a Lens Crafters location due to the lens falling out. I should have known that this was not going to be a good experience when I first walked in. It was VERY understaffed and the employees really did not want to acknowledge me. When someone did, I told them the situation and showed the glasses. She aid they was VERY busy and took my name and number. I said that was fine and left. It has been 3 weeks now and I have not heard from anyone. I have tried calling on many occasions but no answer. My glasses are no where to be found or anyone to find them. This is a VERY poorly ran business. I hope than can produce my glasses soon. I feel really generous right now even giving them a one star.

I seldom write a review, but when I get service that I would tell my friends about I feel I should let everyone know.
My experience couldnt have been better. When I walked in from the optometrist next door, I had papers, boxes of contact cleaner, and assorted other sundry they had given me without benefit of a way to carry the items exempt awkwardly in my arms. As soon as I walked in Terri greeted me warmly almost instantly, and seeing I was trying to hold all the items from the eye dr came over quickly with a nice paper Lenscrafters bag for me to put my items in for easy carrying. Great job on reading the situation and making me feel important and taken care of. I wanted to get a pair of glasses made quickly, but since it was almost 5pm I felt certain that this would not be possible. Terri took me to the mens frames section and pointed out the various options and said lets get you a good look and a good fit and we will have them for you by 630pm, that evening.
Being a guy who seldom wears glasses, I asked for her help in selecting a frame that she thought would look good. She studied my face for a second and pulled 4 frames off the rack, noting how each complimented my face, eye color, and hair. I picked the most comfortable and have received many many compliments on them when I wear them out.
After selecting the frames, she let Tim, with his excellent customer care skills do the technical measurements for how the lenses should be cut to best fit my eyes. He was friendly, outgoing, and answered all my questions. When done, he said come back at 630 and we will make the final adjustments and you will have a great looking pair of glasses.
And so I did. I walked in, was greeted by name, and asked to sit at a fitting table. Tim brought out the glasses and made some small adjustments and that was it, a new pair of glasses that looked good and fit good. Since I didnt have insurance, Terri authorized Tim to give me a very generous discount, and I left feeling like I got a great deal on a great pair of glasses. I can’t recomment this store enough! I will definitely be going back.

I have been here an numerous occasions to buy prescription lenses and they are always understaffed.

I stopped in to get a new case for my glasses. After looking in lots of stores, I found exactly what I was looking for here in 30 seconds. Only problem is I couldn’t actually pay for it. At noon on a weekday, they had one employee. One customer here can tie up an employee for a very long time, and there were a few other people waiting. I gave up and returned after eating, where I jumped in line just to quickly hand over a $ 10 dollar bill. It’s a good thing these stores are in every mall, because I don’t plan to return to this location.

Not once, but twice, this store has come to my rescue in the past 3 months.
1) Lost my computer glasses (absolutely essential for me to work) on a Friday night. I had a ton of work to take care of over the weekend, too. AND, it had been 2 yrs since I’d had my last eye exam. Saturday morning, I called every Unilocal-​approved optometrist and eyeglass store and not one of them could squeeze me in that day.
Very reluctantly, I headed over to Lenscrafters. In under an hour, I walked out with the results of a new eye exam and a new pair of glasses with frames that were *identical* to the ones I had purchased from Stars in Your Eyes.
The difference? Only about $ 300 less.
2) So last week, I gracefully sat on my movie/​driving/​TV glasses. One of the lens fell out and the frame was so bent out of whack that I thought surely I’d have to buy a new pair.
I had to wait about 5 minutes before anyone could take care of me, and one minute later Dana, the lead technician, was working on my broken glasses.
She found a new screw that worked because I’d stripped the existing screw. And then she spent about 15 minutes shaping the frames to my face. I’ve had these glasses for ten years and they’ve never fit this well. Once she was satisfied, she cleaned the lenses and then sent me on my merry way.
No charge.
What’s not to like?

I have to give some credit to the guy that helped me out in the morning when I walked in to browse for new glasses. When I came back in the afternoon though, it all went downhill.
My mother and I weren’t even greeted – this ditzy girl barked, «Are you here to look around?» and we were like, «no, I’m here for pick-​up» and then she was frantically searching for my finished glasses and couldn’t find them. When she finally did locate them, she just passed them to me in this «ok, now get out» sort of way and my mom, who was with me, was like, «try them on, see if they fit.» so I took them out myself and put them on my face, while the girl just awkwardly sat across from me staring, not touching the glasses, not touching my face, nothing, and she seemed like she wanted me to hurry and leave. After an awkward pause, I was like, «Well? Do they look alright?» «Are they fitting properly?» and she was just like, «yep, yep!» and so my mom and I awkwardly left and were like, «well, that was weird…»
Sure enough, my glasses were slipping down my nose all the rest of the afternoon, so I went back the next day for an adjustment. When we walked in, there were a bunch of people scattered about the store, sitting silently appearing to be waiting to be helped, and the 2 ladies on staff didn’t say a word to us. After we stood there awkwardly for a moment, a girl from the day before (not the airheaded one) was like, «are you here for another pair or an adjustment?» and I said, «I was here yesterday, I just need an adjustment» and she just replied, «I know, I remember you» and then turned back to the person she was helping. That’s it. No other word spoken… not «we’ll be with you in a few moments” – nothing.
Needless to say, we walked out and drove across town to another Lens Crafters.
The people that work at the Lens Crafters at the Arboretum were overall extremely unprofessional and need to learn a thing or two about customer service.

STAY AWAY FROM LENS CRAFTERS at the ARBORETUM!!! I just picked up my glass after having them ordered thirty five days ago. Exactly thirty five days ago when I went to the LensCrafters at the Arboretum to order my glasses, I was attended by a person named Cassandra who has been titled as Sales Associate. Cassandra has no clue about how the lies that she tells people for her to achieve her sales goals and her lack of care, can jeopardize the health of the eyes of the people that believe that she will be helping who needs glasses.
I am astonished by the lack of customer service, care and honesty that I encountered at the LensCrafters at the Arboretum.
PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU NEED GLASSES !!!

Sales Associate: (Sing song happy voice) «Thanks for calling Lenscrafters at the Arboretum during our Holly Jolly Clearance Sale.»
Me: (Really? Already with the Christmas holiday stuff?) «Um…I have a pair of frames that are 4 years old, can I still get you to make a repair on them?»
Sales Associate: (More sing song happy voice) «Did you get them here?»
Me: (Duh. Why else would I be calling you?) «Yes.»
Sales Associate: (Continuing the sing song happy voice) «Why don’t you just bring them in and we can look at them. I’m sure we can fix you up!»
Me: (I don’t need a date. Just a repair.) «Ok.»
The repair was quickly made and the associate cleaned them up as well. I’m sure makeup, hairspray and face cream and lots of «goo» had soaked into them after 4 years. Nicely done Lenscrafter guy.

In my opinion a little good customer service goes a long way. I have purchased lenses from this location before and can say after the way I was treated on Saturday that I will never do so again.
Last December I purchased designer glasses for my boyfriend for Christmas and went to Lenscrafters where they promptly sold me the most expensive pair of lenses because, after all, that’s what you buy for the ones you love, right? So these lenses are scratch proof, glare proof and they cost me $ 325 plus tax.
It hasn’t even been a year and my boyfriend is completely unable to wear the glasses because the lenses are foggy and look like some sort of coating is peeling off of them. The funny thing is that this is on the inside of the lenses; the least likely place for them to be «scratched». One look at these things and it’s pretty obvious that it’s some sort of defective product.
I take them in to Lenscrafters this past Saturday and an associate tells me «oh, that just happens to these types of lenses». Um, what? So one can expect to pay $ 325 for lenses that last less than a year? I don’t think so! She refers me to a manger who approaches me aggressively and begins his conversation with «Let me educate you about how things work.». Um, again, what? Educate me? How about a more customer-​oriented approach like «I’m sorry you an unhappy with your purchase». This guy couldn’t have given a damn.
Then he proceeds to tell me that because I did not buy the warranty that the condition of the glasses is really just my word against his. I thought the warranty covered scratches and perhaps stepping on the glasses. A reflective coating is obviously some sort of defect. So without getting into an argument I asked him to please just have a look at the lenses and let me know what he thought. He didn’t. He never even looked at the glasses, but rather informed me that «special lenses» are intolerant of heat of any kind and must be cleaned with a special solution. It would have been great if I had been given this knowledge when they upsold me on the lenses in the first place.
As it turns out, he never did look at the defect. My guess it that he didn’t because it was so glaringly obvious and probably happens quite often. But he did make me a deal. For the cost of a $ 25 warranty he would give me the lenses for half price. Wow, so for $ 200 MORE dollars, I could get another pair of lenses that would last 9 months. No thanks.
I put down the pair that I was planning on buying for myself and decided to take my business elsewhere. If Lenscrafters cannot stand behind their products, there are too many other options in Austin to do business with them.

One hour or less is really not true for most of their glasses. It is only true if you have no special coatings or you have to wait a week or so.
Friendly staff but they can’t get it right. I have a head ache and can’t read. I like the 30 day money back guaranty and took advantage of it. At LenseCrafters with the 50% off the lenses and the Frames with no frills bifocals the cost was $ 214 using my insurance.
Same glasses at CostCo but with scratch resistant coating, as well as a UV coating and anti-​reflective treatment for $ 189.96 without insurance. Although it took a week they got it right the first time.

Pros:
My glasses were ready in an hour.
Nice selection of frames
Cons:
Pricey. I have vision insurance, but for those paying out of pocket, this place can be hard on your pockets.
The customer service. Well, one employee in particular: Amanda. As Eden E. mentioned, she was snippy with her co-​workers and rushed me through the process. The worst part was when she didn’t ask me what type of lenses I wanted. Rather, she chose the most expensive lenses, told me the price, and then look perturbed when I informed her my insurance said my lenses were free. Turns out insurance only covers plain old plastic lenses, which was fine with me. I rarely wear my glasses and was only buying a new pair because I hadn’t bought new glasses in over 3 years.
Not once did Amanda actually take the time to explain WHY the lenses she originally chose were better than plastic lenses. I left feeling like her primary goal was to hustle me out of money and not to help my find the right lenses for ME.
Pretty sure I won’t be returning to this location.
