John and Shelley are the best. Friendly, patient, and always ready to help the customer out. The facility is clean, well maintained, and very secure.

Recommend! Just moved out after a year. It was always clean, organized and well-​lit. Price was good and management was friendly and helpful. Great customer service. I also liked that it always had carts available and that during rush hour I could pretty easily access by avoiding the highways and running up Burnet to Braker.

This is the least air-​conditioned, climate controlled storage place I have ever been in.
There is a door that continually opens and closes on the bottom level let’s all the AC out. They should look into that.
We’re moving storage units because they were not good at communicating when their price went up. After we paid our normal rate for months, we finally figured out they were charging us more than we thought per month and late fees every 10, 15, 20 days.
All they sent was an email, and I don’t believe we ever received any calls.
I’m sure they’re not the worst, but they certainly are not the best.
We’re getting the same size storage unit closer to our work for about $ 20 less per month.

I highly recommend this storage facility.

They are now owned by LifeStorage Braker. I don’t know how it was before but I am so pleased to have found them! They are clean and climate controlled, which I find most important! Everything including the restrooms. Easy to load/​unload at their docks and plenty of carts. Secure elevators-​must have a pass code to use. I felt safe in there by myself. And friendly, helpful employees.
I dealt with them from the get go from out of town by phone and got exactly what I expected from pricing to description.
I am using them for short term for the summer, however, if I need storage again in Austin, they will be the first place I contact.

I have been with this storage unit for several years now, and unfortunately their ability to communicate rate increases simply does not exist. I have been set up with auto pay and twice now without notice they’ve increased the rate. The first time they researched the issue and swore that they mailed me an increase notification (via regular mail), but later determined that the physical mailing went to an old address that was years old. When I asked why they didn’t send it to the email address they had on file, they simply couldn’t answer the question. My experience was that they were hoping to fly below the radar and hope that people didn’t realize the amount had changed. It concerns me that they don’t bother to get agreement for the increase prior to executing the debit. I overlooked this apparent bad service issue once, but since it’s happened again, I’m now looking for a new storage vendor. I would think twice about signing up with these guys because there is no guarantee they’ll honor the original amount they’ve agreed to.

I’ve used several storage facilities around town and I highly recommend Braker Storage! The staff is very professional. The facilities are climate controlled and extremely clean. The price is very reasonable. The location is well lit so I’ve always felt secure when going after hours. The dollies are exceptional and loading/​unloading accessibility is excellent. It is a bit out of my way, but worth the additional drive to know my things are safe and secure.

Mom recently moved in with me, so we needed a place to store her stuff temporarily. We chose Braker Storage over the others we looked at becuase of the people at the counter. They had a bigger unit than we needed, but it worked out in the end, as we just kept adding things to it! Now Mom is back in her own place, so we emptied it out. My only negative comment is how they handled a referral fee.
A friend had rented here in December and mentioned Mom’s name. They added a credit to Mom’s account, but no one notified us about how it would affect her January rent. So we paid the full month’s rent for the beginning of January. When we moved out (with the proper notice), I asked about that credit. He said it could only be applied to the next month’s rent… he didn’t know how to issue a check for it. I thought that was strange, since we wouldn’t be paying the next month’s rent. But rather than argue, I had him move the credit back to my friend’s account, which he easily did with no qualms.
Overall I do like the place and if I’m ever in need of a storage unit again, I WILL be back!

As a moving company, we needed a professional, clean and safe and secure storage facility to store equipment and items and chose Braker Self Storage several years ago and loved the decision. I highly recommend Braker! I was moving out of state and needed to store my stuff until I found a new place. I chose Braker after checking out many facilities that run down Burnet Rd. The reasons I chose Braker were helpful the entire time I stored with them:

I was tempted to choose another facility that was closer to home — less amenities and slightly cheaper. I’m glad that I didn’t. My move turned out to be really complicated. When I underestimated the amount of storage I needed (totally my fault), the Braker staff worked with me to do an upgrade for the right storage room size. The ease to get in and out of Braker (ramps and smooth dollies that were always available) really helped when we were down to the move-​out deadline at my old place. Then, it took an unexpected extra month until I could move into my new home. Throughout all of this, I felt secure that my belongings were safe & waiting for me to pick up whenever I was ready.
Here’s a sixth reason to choose Braker: (6) Penske truck reservations and pickup can be arranged with their awesome employees. I ended up flying back to Austin just to pick up my stuff, and my Penske truck was ready for me at the facility just as planned. I got an AAA discount so it was very affordable. The truck was clean, in good condition, and our drive up to Brooklyn went very swiftly.

We recently moved to Austin and needed a large storage unit to move all our stuff in until we found a home. I was very happy with Braker Storage. The management was extremely helpful. The facility was in a good location, It was also very clean, easy to navigate, and the staff great to work with! I would definitely recommend Braker Storage to my friends.

I was temporarily moving to another state, but didn’t want to take all my belongings until I knew for sure where i was going. I checked out Braker Storage and I felt that I could safely secure my items here while I’m across the country. Their facility is clean and monitored 24 hours by camera surveillance in addition to closing access to the building at 9PM for added security which gives me peace of mind. The price was reasonable and the staff was very pleasant to work with. It was super easy to get in and out of the place during the move and I was happy to see that it was relatively bug free. I recommend this place for your storage needs.

I have used this place twice and they are awesome. Friendly, clean, easily accessible, secure. They are popular, so units go fast. Be sure to call in advance and reserve your ideal spot.

What do you want from a self storage facility? Safe, secure, clean and a fair price. Throw in the climate control and the dollies for use in helping you move in (and out) — controlled access.
Bottom line — good product delivered — at a fair price.
Not sure how the facility could really improve — simple business done right.

A friend of mine kept his stuff here for a year while he moved around Austin. Unfortunately, the North Austin location was not that convenient for us – he lived central, west, and south. Go figure he picked here for a storage unit.
Anyway, I helped him move in and out too many times to count, and I would probably recommend the facilities at Braker Self Storage. Clean and kept cool. In order to help you navigate the long and winding hallways that all look identical, they name the pathways after the «famous» streets in town. Guadalupe, Town Lake, Congress, etc. There were many days when we would jokingly (but not really) say, «Weren’t we just on MLK?» Ha. Actually, this feature is immensely helpful to the easily confused (me) and the forgetful (my friend).
The folks that work here are cautiously friendly. They sometimes charge you fees that you don’t expect, so… I give it 3 stars. It probably is a 4-​star place, but the location and the extra fees lower the score in my book.
Braker Self Storage is maybe worth a visit. Actually, in the world of storage warehouses, it’s a probably.

What to do when you move home from college, with, hmm… a truck load full of stuff. But your 8 X 9 room is already full to the brim with 20 plus years of crap and you mother refuses to let you bring your stuff inside the house. Where do you go? If you are me, and in North Austin, its to braker storage I go. Every summer for 4 years I happily left my stuff here, down the road from my house. The place is super clean, climate controlled, low on the bugs and easy to figure out. After too many experiences with bad storage facilities that left me with tons of baby crickets and spiders, my things remained virtually un pollinated while at braker storage. That leads it to a 4 star rating!
