Liquid Float Center

I went here after having spinal fusion surgery (3 weeks prior) My pain levels had been higher than normal the third week and I couldn’t ever sleep through the night because of it. I thought to myself «What better way to get relief than being weightless (more or less)?» So I purchased the set of two floats on Groupon and crossed my fingers.
First: the atmosphere is pretty relaxed and the lounge is fairly large with big soft chairs to hang out on
Second: I love that you get a room completely to yourself, your own shower, pod, etc and I love that you get to float in your birthday suit so there are no restrictive ties or anything
Third: The water is warm and soothing, I personally recommend leaving the pod door open so you don’t get over heated and you will already be use to the cooler air that kisses your skin, so you won’t feel like you are freezing.
Fourth: I went in here with my pain levels being around a 7 or 8, I left here with pain levels around like a 4, that is AMAZING!!!
The only thing I wish they would do differently is pay attention to the smaller details such as the paint on the walls that is starting to peel away in areas. A place like this should be very tidy, elegant/​sophisticated, and have a relaxing atmosphere which personally, seeing walls peeling, makes me wonder if anything else is poorly maintained.

I tried the floats from a living social deal. It was very easy to schedule. They were very accommodating. A little difficult to find but really was just my fault of turning the wrong direction in the parking lot. The staff were professional and to the point. Not a huge orientation to it all. I liked that I could play my own music. Of course I had to ask as this info wasn’t volunteered which seemed weird. As for the float, it was so so. The water was sort of lukewarm so not what I typical care to soak in. It was all a little strange. I did rest and relaxed but not sure it was completely my thing. Certainly not worth $ 30 for me. So if you like that sort of thing, you’ll probably rave but for me meh ok. Not great.

When you walk in the atmosphere is serene. The rooms have been spotlessly cleaned. The pod itself is very relaxing. A neck cushion is provided for those that need it. I’ve found my back feels so much better after the soaks. My skin also is soft. They provide soap & shampoo for the pre soak rinse and post soak shower. Moisturizer and coconut oil is also available after the soak.
A towel is provided along with two wash clothes, one for the shower and one to keep close to the pod in case you get salt in your eyes.
After the soak there is a vanity room with blow dryer and tea/​water service at the entrance.
I’ve done the float a few times and each time walk away relaxed and feeling good.
Tip: don’t shave beforehand and use the provided Vaseline on any cuts

Salt water float has been on my list of things to do for about 3 years. I first heard about it when I was living in Chicago. For Christmas my husband got me a 90 minute float certificate. I kept putting off scheduling a float. Being 34 weeks pregnant, getting uncomfortable and achy I finally decided I needed to schedule. I was a bit frazzled when I arrived to my appointment. My husband and I had been running errands and then I was rushing to get there. Overall I really enjoyed my relaxation time but was unsure about the timing of my entire session so I felt a little anxiety that I would go over my time and be that guy holding everyone up. I got checked in, filled out some forms because it first time there and then get an a intro and familiarized with my room by one of the staff members. The the thing that made me nervous was that the tank I was in the jets were not working so they would turn on the lights and the fan when my session was done. I was nervous I wasn’t going to notice that they did that. Also I saw signs around the room saying that we had the room for the duration of our allotted time. So if I have a 90 minute session that includes my shower before and after I enter the tank? That’s what I was most confused about. My before shower I did really quick so I could get floating. Then my after float I hurried to get rinsed off because I didn’t want to go over my time. Next time I’ll just need to ask and clarify. They have a nice lounge area so I would suggest and make sure I get there a little early to decompress and wind down before I start my float. They have teas and water to sip on. After your float you can go back and lounge, get your sea legs back and enjoy a refreshing beverage.
So let’s talk about my float. It was AMAZING. There’s meditation music that they have set up on their player or you can plug in your own music. I opted to use their music for the first time. There’s also lights that change color that you can leave on or turn off. I did half the time with lights and the other time off. When I first got in the tank and began to float I could feel the lower pain in my back. As I continued to float it gradually went away. It was so nice to lay on my back since that’s a no no for me right now. It was also nice to be in peace, relax and just clear my mind. At this stage in my pregnancy I feel the little peanut move all the time but it was definitely a different experience floating and feel the little guy move. I got the sense he knew it was chill time and his movement wasn’t as aggressive and they usually were. There were a few times during my float that i had to open the tank to get fresh air because I felt I was getting stuffy. Being weightless, is so nice when you feel like a house. I’m nearing the end of my pregnancy and this is exactly what I needed. I can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful location. From the moment you walk in the door, the experience is relaxing and inviting. I love the look and the rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. I have been to float locations all over the country and the price here simply can’t be beat. Also pretty amazing that they have a 24 hour option on the weekend. Thank you Liquid for a great float!

It’s a little out of my price range, and I am not sure I’d rank it as exactly «medicinal» but if you’re looking for 90 minutes that belong only to you and for a complete and utter escape during that time, it’s hard to imagine anything more convenient.
I left feeling blissful — then battled traffic out to the airport and was totally screwed by the construction, parking garage configuration and rude attendants — so my wonderful float after-​glow was much briefer than it needed to be. In that light, I recommend scheduling your float for a time you intend to protect for the rest of the day.
This is certainly worth experiencing at least once in your life.

Found this through groupon. I have been for three floats after that. All good experiences.
What it’s like: floating in what looks like a Sci-​fi medpod from Alien, in warm, salty water illuminated by soft blue light. Here you can listen to music from their playlist or from your mobile device. There is a shower to wash off before and after floats and they provide soap.
Pros: relaxing, quiet, clean, plenty of time to chill and rebalance in the lounge area after your session. Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and towels are provided.
Cons: it is a little too warm for my liking. I over heat after about 30 min and have to take a break. If you are very responsive to temp you may want to book shorter floats.

The first couple of times we came in in it was very nice and cozy. We had a really good time. The last time however was a problem. They put cheap foam rubber earplugs in the rooms (and required you to pay $ 1.49 for them!) without warning that they had changed them from the usual silicone earplugs. Foam rubber earplugs are made for blocking sound– not water. Long story short, hubs ended up with water in his ear which cut his float super short. Sean answered my email as fast as he could and set things right. He cares about his business and his customers and tries to make sure everyone has a wonderful and deeply relaxing experience. It’s a great way to relax and let your mind wander.

Place rocks, different concept and very relaxing. Make sure to turn lights off and let go, very peaceful experience.
Felt very at ease when I was done. Pod does get warm so had to open and get some fresh air. Great nap while floating.

I love this place. It’s all very nice and there is a peaceful energy. The tanks are top notch, you can even play your own music if you like. I really enjoy it.

3 Stars for the facility itself and staff, both of which were excellent. Employees were nice and accommodating. The facility was clean and sanitary. Disposable combs are not provided so make sure to remember to bring a brush or comb.
2 Stars off for the location. The liquid float center is located right next door to «School of Rock», a music academy. For those of you wanting a quiet experience, you are taking your chances. Earplugs are provided, but as anyone who has worn earplugs for work or at a concert, they will not block out low-​frequency noises and you will feel the vibrations if there is someone taking a drum or bass class.
If you’re going to play music during your float or don’t mind some faint noise and vibrations, this will not matter to you. If you are looking for a silent experience, you have to decide if you are willing to risk it with your money.

Love this place– can’t wait for Cryo to be set up here!

I bought the Groupon a few days back to experience this place since it’s closer to my house than Zero Gravity or Aquatonic.
The pods are nice, although for the price — $ 85 for a 90min — they could be better.
The two main concerns I have are noise and the addition of music. I booked a 90 min session and was constantly interrupted by slamming doors, other people walking the hallway, and just general sounds — AC kicking on, etc. This could be because they are located right next to The Egg and I, which can get busy and it might be hard to limit the noise getting through, but it’s very intrusive while you’re in the tank.
Secondly, floating is similar to a great meal. You’ve got an appetizer to warm up, main course for fulfillment, and a dessert to cool you off. Here, you’re thrown right into the quite darkness from the moment you get into the tank and startled awake by the filtration system turning on. I’ve always had my best experiences when there was an automated ambient noise playing for the first 3 – 5 min of getting in, and one that slowly comes back at the end of the float.
The staff were amazing. The young women behind the desk was very friendly and charming, and the man that was cleaning the rooms was very welcoming and neighborly. The rooms are very comfortable with a full shower, lotion, and towels set out, and the waiting area was relaxing.
My overall experience was pleasant, but I was there to float, and didn’t get the fulfillment I have experienced at other places. So while I did enjoy the environment, staff, and overall feel, I don’t have plans to return in the near future.

When I first looked into saltwater floats it seemed very gimmicky and new age-​y. A friend said they preferred these to massage so I thought I’d give it a try. I was not expecting to love this so much. The float was honestly the most relaxing 60 minutes I’ve had in years. Liquid Float Center is clean, quiet and calming. I strongly recommend that you remember to use the earplugs and forego the music, you won’t need it. I can’t wait to go again.

A wonderful and relaxing experience! The atmosphere is soothing and calm and everything is well maintained and very clean. I felt very relaxed and rejuvenated after a 60 minute float. It felt like a mini vacation and the whole experience was very beneficial.

Had a great experience here. I’ll definitely be back soon. I bought the two ninety minute floats from Groupon. So worth it. If your a first time floater like I was, you’ll need that much time just to sort of get the hang of it. The rooms were clean, the staff was really pleasant, and as far as I can tell, it’s the cheapest option available. You not only pay less, but you get longer float times.

I was super excited to spend 90 minutes floating to not only relax, but also experience all the wonderful benefits I had heard about from float spas. This was my first time and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Liquid Floats is fairly new, and it definitely shows. The place looks nice inside, they are currently adding things around the space, and you can tell Sean is a busy-​bee. Sean (the owner I believe) is very nice, however my experience did not go as expected. First of all, both of the bathrooms were not really usable (one the lights were out, the other was clogged) which really didn’t bother me at all, but I could see how that could turn off some people.
Sean showed me how to use the pod and what to do and everything was great at first. He gave me a few minutes to shower and then was going to start my time. There was one thing that totally ruined my experience, which is really disappointing because I was looking forward to this so much: the music never turned on. I rang the buzzer 3 times to try and ask what was wrong — no one ever responded. I actually got out of the pod 30 minutes early and left because it was not relaxing whatsoever. Sitting in water for 90 minutes with no music really isn’t desirable. turns out Pandora stopped and was displaying the pop up «are you still listening?» which also means that nobody else had music either. Very disappointing.
There are definitely kinks to work out — maybe use Spotify instead for your music, because it never stops. And they need a better buzzer system to actually know which room is buzzing — what if there is an actual emergency?
I would possibly go back, but I would have to be promised a perfect experience. This was totally not it.

Just completed my second float with them last night, it was 10 000 times better than last time!
Now that I’ve visited it again post opening day, they have heeded the suggestions and there are wooden slates and anti-​slip matts on the floor by the pods and shower so you don’t slip! It does get quite slick and they have understood that it is a disaster waiting to happen.
There used to be a bench with all the sorts of q-​tips, cotton balls, lotions and doo-​dads under the mirror closest to the shower. That has been rearranged to be furthest from the water areas and close to the doors when you enter to ensure all your stuff can be dry and you are in a dry area after you’re ready to get dressed and ready to head out.
Music is now working! It is pure delight! Push the button and music comes on!
Ok, now here’s why my second float was much much better than the first. My husband Michael told me he turned off the lights in the pod his first time and it was very nice. I did not do that the first time and while the lights change colors and are nice, it can be a bit distracting. This time, I turned off all the lights, in the room, in my pod, everywhere! I left the pod top up as I felt it was still too «stuffy» for me. Floating in pitch darkness was WAY better. I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to find the button to the lights but it is quite easy when you reorient yourself.
I put the earplugs in, didn’t get a single drop of water in my ears as I floated, but the music was loud, calming and soothing. The lights turned on at the end to signify my float being over and at some points of my hour session I was floating in and out of consciousness. It was great, a natural high!
We were again offered a cool sip of water, tea, carrot juice before and after our floats and were good to go recharged.
Purchasing the 3 credit intro float and booking the appointment was great this time around, ensure that you select «series» to deduct the credits that you’ll want to have take away for the 60min or 90min floats that you desire.
I’m sold!

I had my first float today, opening day at Liquid Float. I had read up on flotation therapy/​sensory deprivation tanks before, but costs were always so high.
This makes it affordable, something I think I can enjoy a couple times a month. They have packages and passes that make it an option for the curious as well as the «frequent flyer».
They apparently took possession of the space days ago, but the place is inviting and the staff are warm and welcoming.
Each of the 6 pods are in their own room with a shower off to one side of the room, so once the door is closed, you don’t see anybody else til you leave.
I won’t get into my own personal experience in the pod — because I’m sure everyone’s experience will be different — but I’ll definitely be back soon as my experience was pretty positive, I now know the process, and hopefully I’ll be a regular floater.
The ONLY suggestion I have for the place is to put mats or strips on the floor between the shower and pod, because the floor is quite slick once it’s wet.
Aside from that, from beginning to end, I enjoyed my session here, and would highly recommend it to anyone.
