Established in 2006.

Mad Dog Tattoo Removal was founded in Austin in 2005 with a mission to deliver affordable, high quality laser tattoo removal services to the community. The concept of a stand-​alone tattoo removal clinic in downtown Austin caught the attention of local news organizations and Mad Dog was featured on evening news programs on KXAN, KEYE, KVUE, and News 8 Austin. Mad Dog continues to be the leader in laser tattoo removal services in central Texas with two locations in Austin.

I’ve been using lasers for a pretty good part of my career, mostly industrial lasers used by the semiconductor industry. I got into cosmetic lasers a decade or so ago when my brother and I started Elements Laser Spa. Shortly after starting Elements we opened our first Mad Dog location. We thought it would be a good idea to open a laser tattoo removal clinic in the heart of downtown surrounded by tattoo parlors. The press loved the idea, but the Texas medical establishment not so much. I suppose some felt threatened by our new business model. As the first free-​standing laser tattoo removal clinic in Austin, we had more than a few challenges to overcome. We persevered and now have two locations in Austin.
