Each gorgeous piece is lovingly hand-​crafted from the finest ingredients and designed to dazzle. There is not a basic brown wrapper in sight.

History

Established in 2013.

For the first half of Maggie Louise’s life, she lived in a world of pre-​packaged grocery store treats with basic brown wrappers. She was happy and my naïve sweet tooth was satisfied. Then, her candy universe changed. Between her college studies in Europe, her years of living in New York City and her classical training at Le Cordon Bleu, Maggie’s earlier notions of candy unraveled. A whole new class of delicate, museum-​worthy treats revealed themselves and Maggie was in love.

While Maggie worshiped the opulent beauty of boutique-​style chocolates and candies, she longed for the flavors found in the treats that she enjoyed growing up in Indiana and that fueled my late night studies at Harvard Law School years ago. Maggie wanted modern, chic candies that tasted like my memories. And just like that, Maggie Louise Confections was born.

I have always felt that unique ideas are inspired by unique sources. I study styled food pictures in dated cookbooks, comb through antique china and revel in glamorous wallpaper from 20^th century photography. I read books about women I admire like Julia Child, Coco Chanel and Veuve Cliquot. I am inspired by their journeys and how they made their dreams a reality. Finally, I turn to my own experiences for inspiration. Since childhood I have kept sketchbooks off and on, filling the pages with thoughts, ideas, patterns and drawings from my own life. It is amazing how a tablecloth at a restaurant fifteen years ago can inspire a creative idea today.
