Description

Specialties

Welcome to Magnolia Café! Fresh food cooked with passion in a comfortable setting, kind of like your favorite aunt’s giant kitchen, if she had one. Open 248.

History

Established in 1979.

Patricia and Kent Cole opened Omelettry West (located at 2304 Lake Austin Blvd.) in January, 1979. They were open for breakfast and lunch only, closing at 3 pm daily. Patricia and Kent split up a year later and Patricia went on to create the Kerbey Lane empire. Kent finally bought 100% of the shareholder stock in 1987 and the business was renamed the Magnolia Café. Kent and his second wife, Diana, opened Magnolia Café South (located at 1920 S. Congress) in 1988.
