Majaco Bicycles was created to offer custom road, track and cyclocross bikes for the masses. Designer Mark C. has combined his love for bicycles, artistic talents, and 20 years of experience in the medium of steel to produce these practical and useful works of art. So I wanted to wait a bit, get some miles on the bike before writing a review. I’ve spent a few months on my custom Majaco, so it’s review time.
I reached out to Mark and Maura in January 2012 after spotting one of their bikes on a forum site. Having zero experience or knowledge of the brand I was hesitant to work with them, but after a few emails and phone call I made the decision to get a steel road frame from Majaco.
The frame was delivered in May 2012 and after a few hiccups with the build it was ready to rock. The craftmanship that went into the frame is truly impressive. I asked for a naked clearcoat finish so that Mark’s fillet brazing work can shine and shine it does. Out on the road the frame performs as expected. It’s stiff, stable, and rides as a steel frame should. Not once have I questioned the decision to go with Majaco and will look to them again in the future if I should ever need another steel frame.

I feel very honored to be the owner of such a work of art, and Mark’s first track frame nonetheless. It’s a custom prototype, and such an awesome and beautiful bike. The lug and fillet work are amazing, and the seat cluster is so cool! Though it has super aggressive geometry, it’s insanely comfortable to ride, even on centuries, brakeless. It’s a hardcore bike and I love it!

Mark and Maura run an amazing operation at Majaco Bicycles. I went through them summer 2011 to have a custom single speed cyclocross frame made and not only was the price right, but the communication and quality on par with that of many of the most notable frame builders. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality, hand-built American bike frame.
