Make it Sweet has enabled me to turn my hobby into a profession. Everyone is personable, extremely knowledgeable and patient.
I feel like family now when I visit and know all the girls by name! I know that I can get a lot of what I buy online for cheaper but I really value the the dedication Cathy, Jennifer and all of them have to the business.

They had not quite what I was looking for (edible silver balls in a certain size), but had something quite close. And since this was in the afternoon on Christmas Eve, I’m thrilled with what I found. :)

What a nightmare! I bought $ 60 of cookie decoration supplies here yesterday. Couldn’t start decorating them until tonight and need them for my event tomorrow. I quickly realized at 6:50pm that when packing up my bag the girl must have forgotten to put the 4 round tip #3’s I bought. I immediately called and she said oh she found one on the floor but since they were closing at 7 they said there was nothing that they could do, as far as stay an extra 10 minutes until I get there. She also insisted that since I have the icing bags I should be fine but as I am not an experienced baker that is certainly not the case. Thanks for nothing, I have $ 60 of supplies I cannot use for what I hoped. I will tell everyone I know to stay away, what horrible service.

Practically my second home now, I love this place. I signed up for some classes after getting a Groupon Deal (which are totally worth it), but I got hooked and have taken about ²⁄₃ of the classes that are offer at the moment.
The owner Jennifer is so nice a knowledgeable, she was in the Food Network’s Cake Challenge, there’s photos and her medals in the bathroom. This store seriously has everything for anything baking project that you need, if they happen to not, they probably know where you can get it from. I love the people that work here, everyone is really so nice and always willing to help.
The classes with Heidi are my favorite, she has such a great sense of humor and there is never a dull moment in a class with her. She knows her stuff too, Magda the classroom assistant is amazing, she always keeps the class running like butter. The greatest things about the classes if you bring nothing and always leave with a great amount of stuff, with no cleaning! Totally worth each penny that you pay.
The prices on the product is great too, very comparable to other places. The unique items are also a great price too, I find somethings that you can’t even get cheaper if you tried. Love this place, wish the Pluckers parking didn’t make the parking here such a nightmare at times. They do have few limited front row spots that are nice if you are in and out, but for classes those spots don’t work so well. I recommend the classes for everyone, beginners to experts, you are always going to leave with something you didn’t know.

This place is perfect for aspiring bakers, one time bakers and professional bakers. They have so much variety and, in a pinch, it is a great option if you need something to make your tasty treat look amazing! I started off taking classes with them about 2 years ago. The classes are great and very informative with neat tricks to make life easier. I have a little catering baking business and I just need to hone in my piping and frosting skills. This was perfect for that. On top of that, every time I encounter a project I am not quiet sure how to handle I am able to walk into the shop and ask someone there the best way for me to accomplish what I am trying to do. They are always able to give me options, point me to the tools I need and then even give a tutorial if I need one. When I am doing a big job, I often check here before even look online because half the time their pricing is better than buying in bulk online.
This place is great and you should definitely poke around even just to take a look at the possibilities!

I got my groupon for my first cupcake class, it was awesome! It was 3 hrs class filled with joy and I got to take home a dozen of cupcakes! Everybody was impressed with my cupcakes! I would like to take more classes from here.

Make It Sweet is my go to place for baking supplies. The people are super welcoming and the selection is endless.
I really really love to bake. I am really bad about asking for my containers back from friends and family when I send some treats off, so I’m glad I have this local supply store that seems to have one of everything.
I’ve found cute boxes, plain boxes, cupcake trays, crazy amounts of cookie cutter shapes, icing and plenty of food coloring. There is no shortage of goodies to try out at this place.
There is only one negative and it’s not really their fault. The parking. Holy moly. plan your trip to this place. Don’t show up here at 5PM expecting to get a parking spot. With the chilis and pluckers next door, there is no room. They have some spots set aside for only their customers, but it is still hit and miss.
I haven’t had a chance to try any if the baking classes yet, but I am tempted to try a cupcake or cookie decorating class. That is next on my list.

This is the greatest place in the world. I’m not kidding. There is nothing like this in NYC, where I have lived for the last two years. First off the store itself is amazing. They have a huge variety of sprinkles, cookie cutters, gel paste coloring, and just everything you would need to bake some awesome treats. My favorite part is the cooking classes. I have taken classes with both Heidi and Jennifer. You can’t go wrong. With Heidi, I took the petit four and french macaron class. The petit fours are amazing, my mom and I make them all the time to take to parties. The french macarons we are still trying to master, so we might have to come back lol. With Jennifer, we have taken the cake ball and cookie decorating class. LOVED THEM. The cake ball one was so helpful because we tried to make them from pinterest once and they turned out HORRIBLE. Luckily with Jennifer’s help, we have made so many successful cakeballs for people and events.
I am going to be coming to this place forever. They usually have groupons too, which I LOVE.

I went in with a ton of questions. I’m throwing a Star Wars Cookie Party for May the Fourth (May the Fourth be with you). I got a full set of Star Wars cookie cutters and figured it was time to drink mimosas, watch Star Wars while decorating a Wookie cookie. I’m inviting five other nerds to my house so I’m baking about a 100 Yodas, Boba Fetts, Millennium Falcons, R2-​D2s, etc… The staff was extremely helpful and patient as I peppered them about making and coloring royal frosting. They answered all my questions, showed me around, gave me a great suggestions and shortcuts. The woman said that they are all really into baking and are all in fact going to culinary school. They love to bake and with all the info they had, I believe it. The store is clean, well lite, very well laid out. I highly recommend.

Bought a Groupon with my besties for a holiday candy making class here and it was a lot of fun! We were provided with a «menu» of the things we would be making and Jennifer went through each one, demonstrating in great detail. There was a video camera above her station and several screens, as well, so we could actually watch what she was doing from our stations. She even explained the different types of chocolates we used, which were better/​worse for melting and the quality of each. For the first thing we made (rocky road bites), we melted our own chocolate, but after that, it was done for us by one of the class assistants.
As the class progressed, we made peppermint bark with white chocolate, chocolate/​caramel/​heath covered pretzels, French mendiants (my fave!), white chocolate covered Nabisco Famous Wafers (how had I never had one of these before?! I’m pretty sure more were eaten than made, at our table, anyway), and a very subtle white chocolate drizzled popcorn. A few things required refrigeration and the class was timed properly to have everything come together as our time came to an end.
All of the ingredients and supplies were provided and, even though the store part was closed when the class was over, we were allowed in and offered a discount on anything for having been in the class! They have pretty much every baking thing you could possibly imagine, including a wall-​o-​cookie cutters!
Make It Sweet offers a variety of classes (I noticed a sugar skull that looked REALLY cool) and I feel like many of them are worth the cost, even without a Groupon!
I look forward to making some of these recipes again on my own! They were a hit at a Festivus party I attended and with my family when I went home for Christmas!

I have always found what I have needed here and more! I stopped trying to seek out these things at grocery and craft stores because I know I can just save time by getting whatever it is at Make It Sweet. Plus everyone is really helpful and clearly knows what they are doing.
I am a novice baker at best, but have gotten better thanks to the tips they give.

The french baking class was great. We worked in groups of 6 each taking turns performing the steps of the recipe. The recipe was simple and can be used for many sweet or savory items. I made the recipe again the following weekend, and as a true beginner, it was a recipe that could easily be re-​created. My favorite of the whole class was taking home a box full of pastries… yum!

I actually really love this place. But they tend to not be open when they are supposed to be. I understand that places have holiday hours and I can respect that, but their holiday hours they have on the door indicate that they should be open now, and they are not. Nor will they answer the phone. Which is especially annoying since my birthday is tomorrow and they are the only place in the city with the sprinkles I need for my cake.
Because of all the extra days they are closed for the holidays, combined with my bakers work schedule, today was the only day I was able to get the sprinkles. looks like my 21^st birthday cake won’t be perfect afterall. :/

The only place in all of Austin where I can find Guittard Signature chocolate, 1-​lb candy boxes and accessories, invertase, and other couture chocolate making supplies. Trust me, I’ve looked, and anyone else who claims that they are a «candy making supply» store only provides melts, molds, and bark supplies.
Of course, in mid November until January they start running really low on stock. I wish they had a better system to predict holiday demand. It’s always worth calling ahead to inquire if what you are seeking is even available.
They also have a fantastic selection of cookie cutters.

Make It Sweet is a locally owned shop selling all the things a home baker or professional baker desires. It is fun to peruse the aisles to see what you will find. Earlier this year I purchased some adorable dog themed cookie cutters here. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Make It Sweet also has classes on how to do all kinds of things in the kitchen. They provide all the ingredients and utensils needed for the class. Most of the classes are 3 hours and range from $ 25-​$ 50. I recently attended their holiday cookie decorating class and had a blast. We learned some tips on preparing the dough and some cool decorating techniques.
While many of the classes are kid friendly they do have «Sips & Sweets» nights that are 21+ and BYOB.

I’ve reviewed this before, and probably when they were still All In One Bakeshop and when I had a house to bake in.
My husband and I have been full-​time RVers for the past four years. We are from Austin, but travel throughout the western US from April to November.
While traveling, I’m always on the lookout for cake/​candy/​bakery supply stores. It’s not easy, and so far I’ve not found anything else that even comes close to a comparison of what Make it Sweet offers. I wish they would open additional locations in Boulder, Portland and Reno. That would cover my bases!

This store is great if you are into baking and want a greater selection of certain supplies. They have an entire wall dedicated to cookie cutters, a modest amount of bakeware, small amount of utensils and a lot of choices for sprinkles, food coloring, sanding sugars and the like. Prices are a bit more expensive than if you were able to get the same item at say, Michael’s; however, it’s nice to one stop shop and it’s not a huge difference. The couple of times I have been here, I’ve asked the sales person a couple questions when checking out and they haven’t been the most knowledgeable. So that is a slight drawback to the place. I haven’t taken any of the classes they offer, so I can’t speak to the quality of those. I would mainly recommend this store if you want to purchase cookie cutters or decorative items for goodies.

After visiting Make It Sweet today — I have only one question. Why did I not come in sooner??? Every time I would drive by this place, I’d be like, «Oh yah… yah I should stop in there sometime it looks neat.» And I just… never got around to it. Well I was missing out on something pretty cool.
They have everything sugar — molds, cupcake liners, pans, frosting, little figures, rolling pins, fondant, colorings, sprinkles… every holiday, every pattern or thing you can think of. I was seriously impressed.
The two ladies that were working were incredibly helpful when my Mom and I were asking questions about the store and the many awesome looking classes that they offer. We felt a great vibe, and bought a few things. I’ll certainly be back maybe to take a class, and certainly to find more cool baking accessories. Five stars!

4 different recipes and all VERY yummy!
I love learning new things this way … the atmosphere is so nice and I always get super inspired. It’s also great to meet new interesting people that share my passion.
My friends and coworkers will soon need a gym membership once I put all of these recipes to good use!!!

Ahhhhhhh I love this store! I could just spend and spend and spend here. When I’m in the mood to bake creatively, I pop in here for cool sprinkles, sanding sugar, or fun cookie cutters (among many other things). So far I’ve really only gone for decoration purposes but soon I’ll expand and see what else I can get. They sell the sugars and sprinkles by the ounce so you don’t have to buy an amount that you wont use again for a long time.
They offer baking classes and soon I will take advantage of those and update this review!
