I am grateful Dr. Maldonado has been my doctor for several years. Dr. Maldonado has always been courteous and knowledgeable. He never rushes our appointment, provides me with information and answers any questions I may have. Dr.Maldonado is a «Best Austin Doctor», as rated by his peers and reported in Austin Monthly. My annual physical will be coming up soon and I look forward to seeing Dr. Maldonado.

I was seeking a new doctor for my senior father, who just moved to the area. We went to see Dr. Maldonado, who not only remained stony-faced in response to my father’s light-hearted quips, but was pretty determined not to deal with us, especially upon finding out my father was living in an assisted living facility. He explained that my father’s complex health would benefit from the onsite care, which is partly fine, but his lack of humor and his obvious desire not to have my dad as a patient seemed more about him not wanting to deal with my dad, than about his representations of how much more my dad would appreciate onsite care. I especially did not appreciate his leaving the office, explaining he had to check on something(not saying what), and then returning and explaining that he had called the assisted living facility without our knowledge in order to verify there were doctors available to visit onsite. Had he bothered to ask me, I would have explained that I had had difficulty getting in touch with one of the doctors, so I had taken that as a poor sign and looked elsewhere, thinking we might get better care offsite. Ha! He said I should try another doctor on their list and even encouraged me to call that doctor while we were sitting with him in his office. The fact that the other doctor’s office number did not work did not seem to worry Dr. Maldonado, though it did me. I think that’s pretty expressive of how much he did not want to deal with my dad. I had read some really nice reviews of Dr. Maldonado on another site, so I will presume that my experience is not typical of how he treats everyone. However, I left that office completely demoralized, totally taken aback by how hard he worked to get rid of us. It worked. We will not be going back. The clinic seemed fine. In fact, in the waiting room, I overheard another woman, probably about my dad’s age, telling her daughter how much she loved her doctor.
