Great Pies. just wish the location closer to Lakeway and Bee Cave area. Been there six times and every time the food was great.

I just tried to order a pizza via the telephone and was not treated properly. I live in a new development and the man on the phone cut me off, put me on hold and came back trying to confirm the name of my street. After several attempts he became rude at my trying to spell the name of my street. I asked for a manager and he stated he was the manager. His name is Javier. He was rude and began arguing with me about the name of the street. What a horrible experience Javier. This Chicagoan will now have to drive somewhere else to get pizza. We have been patrons of Mangia since 2005. We won’t be ordering or dining there any more! 2 stars for dang good deep dish. If we’d had better service, it would be 4 or 5.

As of Thursday of this week, there still were no «no open carry» signs at Mangia. Management told me that they were considering a «no open carry» policy because of the large number of children who frequent the restaurant.

Well, this wasn’t the first time we went there, and other experiences were better. We ordered a couple of pizzas by phone(one with regular crust and one with wheat), and on the one with regular crust, I asked for one of the toppings from it to be removed and just given to us on the side. However, when I went to pick it up, they left off a topping I did not ask to be removed and instead left on the pizza the topping I had asked to be removed. On the phone earlier, I made the order clearly and it was repeated back to me pretty clearly so I was surprised when this mistake was made. They were kind enough to remake the pizza on the spot to correct their mistake, so I waited. I didn’t bother to inspect the pizzas because I had confidence that they corrected their mistake. However, when we got the pizzas home, we discovered, they indeed screwed up that one pizza yet again — wrong crust and left off all the toppings. LOL. I’m scratching my head. So all I got was a crust I did not want with nothing on it but cheese.

DONOTGOTOTHISPLACE! This place was my first job in Austin, the cooks drop utensils, and don’t wash them! I’ve seen it! When I told my manager I was taken off the schedule. It also smells like something is rotting in the back. The employee’s don’t ever wash their hands, not that I ever saw. It’s so gross! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the cook drop his tongs on the disgusting floor then pick em up and continue cooking with them!

My focus: Salads. Delicious. Fresh. Crisp, Cool. Delicious. It’s the salad you would make for yourself. No ugly veggies. Fresh, crisp, excellent quality bacon. I had the Cobb with chicken yesterday and liked it immediately and more and more as I ate it. The Cesar is also delicious.

In a world of look-alike taste-alike pizza, we find Mangia’s spinach and mushroom deep dish pizza to be a unique and pleasant treat. It does take 30 minutes to cook. We enjoy spending that waiting time with their Greek salad which is not so unique but is nice. We have enjoyed their other dishes as well. Mangia on Mesa Dr is a good stop.

This was my first visit to Mangia and it will be my last. After being seated by the hostess we waited for over 15 minutes and no one ever came to take our order. Even worse, there were many staff walking around and cleaning the tables around us. We tried to make eye contact or wave them over but we were treated like we were invisible. It wasnt even a busy night, it was Monday. After waiting for a long time i finally set a timer on my phone for five minutes, when we still hadnt been greeted by the time it was over we got up and left. Would have loved to try their pizza but sadly was unable to obtain any service. We took our money to a pizza place that doesnt ignore customers. Some of the worst service(or lack there of) i have ever had the misfortune to experience.

This place is the best. They have a huge room that’s for private parties it holds 50 – 60 people. The food is delicious and can take a lil bit to cook but it’s all fresh and worth the price.

I have never had a better meat pizza than the Carnivore. Its almost like a stuffed pizza it’s so big. The lunch portion was twice as much as I need.

Food was good. Service lost several orders and was a bit annoyed at first but they comped my meal so it’s a wash.

Soooooo good. Get the Chicago stuff crust & don’t be a weirdo & get whole wheat crust. I mean if that’s your thing, I am sure it is great too, but nothing beats an OG Chicago style deep dish. Get on my level and get this pizza. My guy said he ate here(like 2 years ago) & it wasn’t so great, but clearly(even according to him) their game is on point!

Don’t order a BURGER. I posted a photo of my raw burger to them on April 2nd on their FB page. I ordered delivery and my burger arrived raw. I tried calling but the line was busy and so I just posted it to their FB page since I was no longer hungry after taking a bite of a RAW burger, and figured they’d address my concern when they were less busy. But, they deleted the post without commenting. They did PM me on Facebook, which(if you know FB) went to my other folder which I didn’t see for days. They asked for an email address, I replied. Then they emailed me asking me to describe the problem with my meal, which I described in my original post. I responded with the problem(My burger arrived RAW) kinda miffed that I had to re-spell that out to them. And I’ve not heard a thing for a week now. I was MUCH less pissed off by the raw burger, than I am about this«Oh we care» and then ignore me bullshit with all the hoops and crap. They also have now changed their FB page to not allow people to post photos. Care about your customers and quality of food much? So here we are on Unilocal. All because you sent me a RAW burger, and made any kind of effort to get that fixed more difficult than filing my taxes.

First time eating here and was more than impressed. The mangia fries with their special sauce was fantastic– and you can buy a tub of the sauce for only $ 2. Deep dish pizza was delicious and we also ordered the ooey gooey. Service was alert and friendly and I Intend on bringing friends here the next time I pass by.

While there are a lot of places now to get top New York style pizza, it’s hard to find good deep dish pizza in Austin. I’m glad that there’s a good place in my neighborhood. I’ve started eating here more often. The personal size pizza is just right. It takes a while, but you can call ahead and it will be ready when you get there. The fries and bread sticks are good, too. Pizza ovens do a fantastic job on molten chocolate desserts as well. Be sure to try the Ooey Gooey. They have a large back room. Most of the time, they are happy to give you the entire room if you have a large group. I’ve watched sports and played board games back there.
