My husband and I recently used Matt as our wedding photographer at Villa Antonia. He was suburb and far exceeded everyone’s expectations. Our pictures came promptly and were gorgeous! We will cherish them always and have received so many compliments from our guests on how great the photos turned out and how genuinely nice it was to work with Matt. Please book him! Very quick with proofs! Professional in all aspects! Excellent eye for creative shots and he takes from different angles. He was also very open to all my ideas too.
We used him for our engagement photos and we would use him for the wedding too. But we are getting married in California.
He is a family man who provides a very high quality service at a fair price. He is easy to communicate with and was the first photographer of many that responded to us (I sent an email to 5 in one afternoon). He would quickly reply to our questions and text messages.
Once we picked our favorites. He had them finished in less than 24 hours, again. He also mailed me a CD with all our pictures very quickly too.

Matt is the best photographer in Austin. He has his craft down to a science. From first meeting him, to saying our goodbyes at the end of our wedding day, Matt executed flawlessly. Our pictures look amazing and Matt is awesome to work with.
I definitely did my due diligence looking for a photographer for our wedding. Matt was a referral from 3 separate people, but we still interviewed several other photographers and were very happy with Matt. We did engagement pics and had him for 8 hours on our wedding day. Everything turned out great.

My wife fell in love with Matt’s photos during the wedding planning time. She emailed him and got a response within a day. When we met him, we liked his friendly and helpful demeanor (along with his outstanding portfolio) so we signed the contract. Our wedding was April 18, 2014 and Matt did an incredible job! My wife is making some layout changes to the album he is putting together as part of our package and she’s still thrilled about choosing him as our wedding photographer. She and I both appreciate his professionalism while believing that he’d be a fun friend to have! We will definitely use him in the future as well as recommend him.

Matt is simply amazing. He shot our 3÷16÷2013 wedding as well as our engagement pictures. He is professional, responsive (VERY) and consistent. What you see on the website is exactly what you get. You spend a lot of your wedding day working with your photographer (or so I thought) but Matt captioned our day seamlessly and I didn’t find pictures to be a chore, it was like he got all the shots unnoticed! And he made us look like models with his lighting and great angles. The only thing we haven’t got yet is the book so I will update this later on that. But based on our AMAZING engagement pictures, beyond perfect wedding day shots, and our 5 months of emailing back and forth — Matt was easily the best vendor we hired. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants beautiful photographs without a lot of work! He took the pictures fast and knew which pictures would turn out good and which ones not to bother with. I am SOOOO glad we booked Matt. Honestly go to his website and look around — if that is what you want, that is what you will get. The work is very consistent and the editing is phenomenal (he edited some arms for some of my lady family members and they loved it!) He gets your pictures up in a week too, so you don’t have to wait 6 months for your prized pictures! I could go on… anyways will updated on my album when I get it in 4 to 6 weeks! As a professional DJ, I see hundreds of vendors over the course of a year, some stand out, and some, like Matt are simply outstanding. I have seen Matt’s work. It is amazing what he does. He is very personable and professional. He truly goes the extra mile when dealing with his clients.

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Matt in June of 2010 for our wedding. Matt was very professional and friendly. We met at a local coffee shop to discuss what we wanted and what he could offer us. As he was listening to my wife and I he would offer great suggestions and take notes.
On the day of the wedding they did a great job getting all the pre wedding pictures taken and the after wedding pictures were a breeze. During the reception you would (matt = ninja) see him on a chair or around a corner getting great angles for pictures. Our pictures turned out beautiful!
A few weeks later we received our album and pictures, he was very easy to work with on the selection process and offered great suggestions on where to develop additional pictures.
We have seen Matt at a few friends weddings and reccomend him to every person we meet that is getting married or has any special occasion that requires a photographer.

We worked with Matt for our wedding pictures this May and it couldn’t have gone better.
The engagement pictures — where Matt led us to a mix of iconic and unique local sites — came out great. And my wife is usually a Blinky McHalfSmile in posed pictures but Matt was able to capture her at her most bridal.
His ceremony/​party picture M.O. is to take the ‘must have’ shots and then be a fly on the wall for the rest of the night. It led to some memorable photos of the celebration. One note though — if you have guests who are wallflowers or seatwarmers, point them out or otherwise you likely won’t see them in your picture book (he doesn’t go around doing table photos).
The book came in on time and looked great. He was willing to provide digital versions of all the pics and prices were competitive.
Would definitely recommend him.

Matt Montalvo is an amazing photographer. I have looked at pictures from all the well-​known photographers in Austin, and his pictures look better to me than anybody else out there. The best part is that his prices are about half what they should be. He offers his amazing abilities far less than you would ever imagine. I would recommend his services to anybody and everybody that is getting married. Matt is extremely professional.

First off, Montalvo has very beautiful pictures and has some real talent. He really knows how to edit photos and seems to have an eye for those breathtaking candid shots. Now, the gloves gloves come off…
From our experience, the dude is unprofessional. My fiancée and I are getting married in March and she contacted Montalvo on 7÷7÷10 to inquire about his services. He informed us on 7÷14÷10 that he could not do his cheaper package on our wedding date. We told him we were still interested in his services and met with him on ⁷⁄₂₉ where we informed him that we would like to hire him; I specifically asked if he was available and he said, «Yes.» We sent out the check and contract and on ⁸⁄₅ he emailed us stating he received the contract and check and everything was a.o.k. Later that day, he emailed my fiancée and claimed, «this never has happened, but I messed up and already booked your date.»
Now, I realize people mess up, but when your business is based around setting up dates, confirming dates, photographing dates, and developing/​delivering those photos, you better make sure you check your calendar. Seriously, he messed up (clean language included) on a fourth of his job. It seems a little suspect and I would not be surprised if he got a better package and cancelled us. I mean, who in the heck emails someone that day and says everything is cool, then emails back and says they messed up? At least he could have had the common decency to call and man up in person… although, I don’t blame him, because my girl would have whupped his… and she’s 5’2″
