Dr. Horne is a Mentor of the Kois Center for Advancing Dentistry Through Science. He has completed all 9 of the courses discussing advances in protocols, methods, and reducing the invasiveness of procedures related to improving Restorative Dentistry.

History

Established in 2005.

Dr. Horne’s extensive experience in cosmetic and sedation dentistry has helped thousands of patients achieve the smile they previously only could have dreamed about. We all realize that having a healthy, bright, beautiful smile enhances our appearance and allows us to smile with confidence. Thanks to the advances in modern dentistry, we are able to improve our teeth and smiles with quick, painless and surprisingly affordable treatments.

Business Owner

Dr. Horne is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where he also received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He was one of the very few who received the prestigious Navy Health Professional scholarship through dental school. Dr. Horne then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in San Diego, CA. After serving as a dentist in the Navy for four years, and traveling the world, Dr. Horne made Austin his home. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Capital Area Dental Society, California Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Horne chose dentistry to not only help people stay healthy, but to directly have a positive impact on their lives.

Decent service, not a great office. My previous dentist’s office from Houston was beautifully decorated and much bigger. This dentist is not very thorough in his dental examination. My old dentist was very helpful and pointed out problems with my receding gun line, and offered suggestions and referrals to periodontists. This man didn’t even bring it up.
They continuously call and pester me trying to get me to «confirm appointment,» and have been texting me AND calling AND emailing. Completely unprofessional, and it is throughly annoying. I will not be coming back.

This was my first visit to Dr. Hornes office in Circle C. I had an appointment for me and my 5 year old daughter and it went smooth as could be. It was great that they scheduled us at the same time.
Everyone is so nice. They had a TV for my daughter to watch cartoons on while they worked on her teeth which was nice. I also enjoyed watching ESPN. They had a gift bag for my daughter to pick from after her appointment and she got a voucher for a free frozen yogurt because she had no cavities.
As good of an experience as you can expect going to the dentist. I highly recommend this office.

Dr. Horne and his staff were awesome! We did not feel like a number going through the system. He took his time with us, answered questions until we had full understanding, and also offered options, with all the pros and cons of each. Each person at his office was kind and helpful. He and his staff cared for us well. We highly recommend Dr. Horne!

Dr. Valerie Doyle and Dr. Matthew Horne are the best dentists in the Austin area! After sub par experiences with my last dentist, I used to loathe going to the dentist until I came to this practice. Dr. Doyle’s calming and attentive demeanor lets you know that when she is with you, she is focused solely on your needs and is not distracted by who or what is next on her schedule. Staff members Renee, Megan and Rachelle are consummate professionals who are accommodating, compassionate, timely, and friendly. Renee always has a ready smile as you enter the door, and Megan makes my chair time pass by pleasantly and quickly. Everyone at Matthew Horne Family and Cosmetic Dentistry has exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend this practice!

The search is over!
I move to Austin a few years back and have not been able to find a suitable dentist. I’ve been looking for a dentist that is conservative, thorough, and can preform a beautiful job. Dr. Horne fits the description. I found Dr. Horne through a recommendation from my children’s pediatric dentist. She recommended him because Dr. Horne is her dentist, which says a lot. He performed some beautiful work on my teeth. Highly recommended!

My entire family sees Dr. Horne. The office is clean and nice and obviously very up to date. They’ve even got great magazines, but you never get to read them because the staff is always prompt. I’ve never had a wait of more than 3 minutes. They hygienists are all knowledgeable and caring. They put everyone at ease and make our teeth all clean. Love this practice!

Am a new patient to Dr. Horne and staff. I had a bad experience with the previous dentist office I visited, who was mainly worried about charging for every little, tiny service. Dr. Horne and his staff… OUTSTANDING! Very friendly, caring, knowledgeable. They suggested procedures that would actually save me $$. They have the top of the line diagnostic equipment and the top of the line staff. I did not have to wait and was treated as if I were the only patient there. Dr. Horne gave me information that no other dentist has done in trying to solve my problem. He gave me several options, suggesting the least expensive first. Finally!!! I found my dentist!

I’ve been going to Dr. Horne since first moving back to Austin. In the past 7 years he has treated a broken tooth, root canal, routine checkups and now Invisalign «braces». All services and experiences have been exceptional! I wish all dentists could be this good and genuinely friendly. All staff are amazing as well. 6 stars!

After putting off a dental visit for several years (job, city, and insurance changes + general apprehension of going to the dentist) I finally took the plunge yesterday and visited Dr. Horne’s office. I had such a great experience! Everyone on the staff was very friendly and asked what they could do to make me more comfortable. My actual appointment went very smoothly, and the staff were great about explaining a follow-​up visit to touch up and replace some existing dental work.

Who looks forward to going to the dentist? Not many, right? Well apparently most people have not found Dr. Horne. I actually look forward to my dental appointments.
Dr Horne’s staff is welcoming and friendly and they always remember me. The office is beautiful, clean and relaxing. Dr. Horne is the best dentist I have ever been to and I have seen many dentists. He is quick, efficient and a perfectionist. No pain, no stress. Even my teenaged son couldn’t wait to show me his new filling because it blends perfectly with his tooth.

the fact that this place only has 4 and a half stars is mind blowing. if I could hang out at this dental office for fun I would! they have a mini fridge and a coffee machine in the waiting room, and I’m not really sure what else I could ask for. I didn’t even get my teeth worked on, just came with a friend, and I got a sucker. such nice people and it doesn’t hurt that dr. Horne is a total hottie. thanks yalll! if I could give you 12 stars I would! (slaughter lane location, don’t let the street name scare you. this plane is the bomb)

I go to the Circle C office. Dr Horne and Dr. Doyle and their whole staff are great! They are caring, competent, and we are lucky they moved into our community. They don’t try to up charge you and sell you something like many other dentists offices today. This about the 6th dentist that I have tried since moving to Austin, and I can say I finally found my dentists!

Dentists don’t bother me. I like the way my teeth feel after a cleaning and I am a good dental client. I selected Dr. Horne after my assistant had a mouthful of work done several years ago. She hated dentists but went on and on about Dr. Horne. Something other offices don’t have is his team. The staff is professional (and personable) and really want you to have the best dental experience possible. I cannot recommend Dr. Horne and his staff more highly. I have referred several work colleaues and friends to his practice and will continue to do so. He is the best.

Dr. Horne is such a great dentist. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back. Everyone seems to know you by name! I highly recommend this place. I’ve had a crown and a few cavities filled and they’ve all been flawless.

I have moved a lot and had many dental office experiences. Dr Horne and his office staff are exceptional.
I have had two crowns done thus far in my life. The first was a bad experience, and a crown that had to be done twice. The crown Dr. Horne did for me was great. The experience was flawless and his staff was awesome. The crown fits perfect and I was hardly even sore the day after. Dr. Horne is the best… I only hope I can find a dentist like him in Ohio as we are moving very soon. I highly recommend Dr. Horne!

Just received a statement for a FOUR year old bill of $ 50.00 when I had a primary and secondary insurance. The statement is from a routine cleaning!!! If a primary and secondary insurance plus a copay cannot cover a cleaning, wouldn’t you say your cost is a tad high doc?
Looks like Dr Horne is jumping on that westlake bandwagon of high cost without quality of service… Front desk staff is quite rude and short with customers on top of lack of service, now this measly bill… It’s insulting. This is why I left this practice years ago being I never saw Dr. Horne even at cleanings but was being charged a ton? No thanks. Go else where! Not impressed.

There’s really nothing worse than having a dental emergency on a holiday when you’re new in town and don’t know where to go… i’m happy to report that when I called Dr. Horne’s office, the phone was immediately answered by a friendly and knowledgeable person who was able to get me in right away.
It turned out that my «emergency» was just a bruised tooth, and my self-​diagnosis from the internet was completely insane. But Dr. Horne didn’t make me feel stupid and didn’t recommend anything expensive or crazy. A less scrupulous person could have bilked me for many thousands of dollars in dental work.
Honesty and care like this is hard to find, and because of this experience my family will definitely be coming here in the future.
