Typical, a bit of cleanup could be done. Actually pretty busy in the A M. A number of people were at the counter so I am going over to Starbucks shortly.

This place is consistently good, I suggest stopping here before you hit dripping springs, you always get what you order fast and efficient. It does Not have a play place, and dripping springs McDonald’s does, so if you have kids, you can go there.

I’m not a frequent visitor to McDonald’s but this one was underwhelming. My main complaint was cleanliness of the interior. The floor was dirty, the booster chairs were dirty, the drink station was shabby, and there were a number of crickets(dead and alive) inside and immediately outside the store. I saw a worker cleaning a napkin dispenser with a bucket of dirty-looking water. The food was not as good as I usually find at McDonald’s, but maybe that’s because I was trying the Southern Chicken sandwich for the first time, and it was terrible — almost as bad as the cafeteria food I experienced back in high school. On the plus side, the counter workers were extremely friendly and the order was handled very quickly. They have a play area here for older children, and the kids out there seemed to be having a great time. Getting in and out of the parking lot was fairly easy because this shopping center has a dedicated traffic light to allow cars in and out from the busy Route 71.

For some reason this mcdonalds thinks it can charge $ 1 more for the iced coffee than the other mcdonalds. On top of that they got the rest of my order wrong.

Who in the hell is going to hang out at McDonalds and drink McCoffees. It seems a bit McStupid. I think McDonald’s is getting a bit of McStarbucks envy… in fact, the last news from corporate is that they are going to spend one BILLION dollars to improve their décor so that people will linger. I can’t wait: so I can hang out and allow the vile scent of aging McDonalds food impregnate my clothing with McNastiness. Though I saved 50 cents on my coffee, I now have to create a McBurn pile and light my clothes on fire… Now, I did give them two stars based on my occasional McFry addiction.(pretty sure about the feeding compound rumors: food science, ya know) There, I said it and I feel so much better.

I don’t eat McDonalds often. I OD’d on it in China every morning trying to satisfy my craving for a Western style breakfast. But as I mentioned in my HEB review I found some HEB brand HFCS free ketchup today and wanted to try it on some fries. Good stuff by the way. I’d encourage every ketchup eater to try it. No real difference in taste. I also ordered a Bacon and Cheese Angus Burger. I had one of these two years ago in the San Diego test market. I was skeptical on trying it again, but I have to say it’s a 100% improvement in taste. The ones tested were horrid. There was even a CNBC special on the head McDonald’s chef where it was mentioned the Angus Burger was sent back for testing numerous times. I’m sure the disgusting taste is where Jack In the Box got the Anus Burger commercial idea! Now just because it’s a 100% improvement in taste, there’s no way I would choose eating at McDonald’s over P. Terry’s. But it was acceptable for what it was albeit on the dry side. If I was in a hurry again or traveling, I’d probably just grab a McDouble to keep it cheap.

It’s Mickey D’s, I know. Why review? Because this location does it right. Speed of light drive-thru. Great breakfasts. Spot on order and food consistency. The only negative is the location. Parking is on the main driveway into this busy strip center, the end point of which is an H-E-B. Unfortunately, the drive-thru is also enters from this drive-way, just off the signaled entrance and exit to the center. Cars sometimes back up and block traffic just waiting to order. It’s a great franchise, just in an awkward location at a busy intersection.
