Mercury Hall

We had our wedding at Mercury Hall in November 2015. The venue is absolutely beautiful indoors and outdoors and didn’t require much decorating on our end because it’s so charming as is. We rented a tent which allowed us to utilize the whole property – ceremony on the lawn, cocktail hour indoor/​outdoor, dinner under the tent, and dancing inside the hall. Courtney and Rachelle were easy to get in touch with and to work with. All our vendors were used to working with Mercury Hall, so everything moved seamlessly on our wedding day. I would absolutely recommend Mercury Hall – it’s beautiful, reasonably priced, and overall a perfect location for an Austin wedding.

Went to an event here last night & it was beautiful! Even in the pouring rain! Just a tip though– be careful while walking around the grounds while wearing 5″ heels, because the rock path isn’t perfectly flat which makes 5″ heels kind of hazardous here lol. But all in all– it was clean & beautiful!

What a great time we had at my daughter’s wedding last weekend! The staff is easygoing and helpful. The venue is gorgeous! No need to spend a ton for flowers and decorations as the landscaping and setting are so beautiful. We partied our hearts out and would recommend it to all as a fantastic venue.

Flew out for an April wedding at this venue. It was beatuful, funky, trendy, intimate, classy. Not small, not huge… just Goldilocks perfect! I loved it! The wedding was outside. chandelier hanging from the trees, flower petal covered walkway, white lanterns draped about… mystical. that’s the word that comes to mind. Inside was lit up with a beautiful blue/​purple lighting that was chosen by the bride. Im sure the lighting can be whatever you want it to be. Also, catering can be of your choosing. they had poke joes for example. Absolutely fabulous wedding venue. It can be whatever you want it to be. Its a beautiful canvas to tailor to your taste.

Everything about this venue is magical! I came to Mercury Hall to check it out for a possible wedding venue, and i am so glad i did! Everything from the outside in is absolutely GORGEOUS! Courtney assisted my fiancé and I as well as my wedding coordinator around the grounds, and was able to answer every question, and concern i had. The pricing for the venue is not bad either. My fiancé and i are planning to have our wedding in November, and that is the most expensive time of year to have a wedding. Just a heads up on that. Also, be expected to put down half of the cost for the deposit.
A little history of Mercury Hall that Courtney had told us was it was a church that was built in 1907 in Mercury Texas (hence the name Mercury Hall). All the stained glass windows are original, and so are the chandeliers. It really does give the vintage feel to it, which is what made me fall in love with this place to begin with. The landscaping is pretty as well. It isn’t too big, but it isn’t too small either. Depending what you plan to do, and how many guests you have, Courtney stated about 150 head count inside the hall.
I’m so excited i picked this venue, and can not wait until our wedding to see how it will look :)

Great value for being in true central Austin. The premises are beautiful, awesome indoor and outdoor option, and the staff is very helpful. I got married here at the end of May and it worked out to utilize both spaces without our guests being too hot and uncomfortable. They have a list of recommended vendors to go with, but will allow off the list vendors for a small free and qualifying screening. However, many of their recommended vendors know the space really well and it seemed to make planning and the actual day of really smooth. At least my bride felt confident in their ability the whole time, which is what mattered.
Awesome natural light and good capabilities for outdoor lighting. Enough space for an event with 100 – 150 people (seating).
This is not a place that is going to just take your deposit. They really are looking to provide their space and make it as wonderful of an experience as possible as long as you respect the standards of the facility.
Book here. Good times to be had.

Mercury Hall was the perfect venue for our wedding! It was beautiful and Courtney was responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. We were married on a Thursday, which made it super affordable to rent the space! You are also allowed to bring in your own liquor and caterer, which is perfect for a bride on a budget!

What a cool little place! Went here for my cousin’s birthday and was not disappointed. It was a beautiful Austin day– perfect for an outdoor wedding! Loved the little chapel-​esque building as well. It was all very cozy and perfectly captured the Austin feel.

Excellent venue, excellent service. Courtney was very helpful and made our experience easy and pleasant. Great place for any type of event!

This is the BEST venue! My husband and I got married here yesterday and had the most perfect day. The ambiance, décor and style are incredibly lovely. Plus it’s extremely affordable! Courtney was a huge help throughout our entire planning process and made sure things were just as we needed.

WTH?! An event center with parking for like 20 cars?’ Not in the door yet and already know this is not a good location!!!
The parking aside, the food was sooooooo disappointing… what a charmingly cute place, so I just knew the food would be equally so. Not!
It was standard banquet fare… bland, bland and well, did I say, «bland»?
Not sure if there are other caterers, or if you must use the same one our host utilized… if there are options, I would definitely do a taste test before making a commitment…
Also, the parking was truly atrocious! If hosting an event, try to arrange for some sort of shuttle service… the off site parking is down a steep hill and around the corner… which, is not fun in heels… or at night!

Mercury Hall is a venue unlike any other. We had our wedding here this past weekend and everything was perfect. The grounds are beautiful, the venue is an absolutely magical place. The staff was wonderful as well and so easy to work with and flexible. I HIGHLY recommend Mercury Hall. It’s perfect for a wedding, but would also work for any type of event. I wish I could give them 10 stars because everything was so perfect! Mercury Hall is unique, beautiful, and just magical!

Parking situation here fucking sucks. All the spaces in the front were taken and no room for the band to load and unload their shit. Cars were blocking each other in the parking lot. It was a mess and a distracting thing to see all those cars with their flashing lights.
On the bright side, Mercury Hall once again dazzles the crowd. This place is so versatile. I’ve been to summer, fall, and winter weddings here and every time it’s a unique experience.

Our very first wedding-​related decision was to pick our venue. We tromped all over the greater Austin area, looking for a place that had beautiful outdoor space with a good indoor option in case of inclement weather (a real consideration when you get married in February!). We wanted something charming, warm, cozy, and a bit Austin-​y. As soon as we saw Mercury Hall, it was a no-​brainer: We immediately signed the contract. It it a gorgeous old building with hardwood floors and white clapboard walls surrounded by stately oak trees. The best part? It’s smack dab in central Austin, which makes it a breeze for local and out-​of-​town guests alike. Oh, and did I mention that it provides amazing value for the price? Fantastic! Choosing Mercury Hall really set the tone for our day. We could not be happier with our decision!

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! Everyone was so easy to work with and flexible! We booked late and had our wedding on a Sunday, so the price was a steal!
We received tons of compliments from our guests about the hall and how beautiful it was!

I attended a wedding this weekend at Mercury Hall. What a cool place for an intimate event. I think it was built in the early 1900s and then relocated to Austin. It has a very shabby-​chic charm about it.
I would guess that structure itself holds about 100 people. It has arched windows and rough, white paint. Several chandeliers hang throughout, making it seem really elegant.
Parking is right next to the grounds so guests don’t have to walk far. There is plenty of room for indoor/​outdoor events and the wedding that I attended this weekend took place outside under a white-​light lit tree, followed by a cocktail hour in the courtyard and dinner and dancing indoors.
My only complaint about Mercury Hall is that the courtyard area has white gravel which looks pretty but does a number on black shoes. It’s also a bit difficult to walk in if you are wearing heels, but not enough to go elsewhere for your event.

Just went to a wedding reception at Mercury Hall yesterday. Wow, what an inspired place! Indoors the white paint job on the walls, wood floors and interesting architectural angles (all which I loved) — and to top it off the great stained-​glass-​topped tall windows in the main room which just FILLS with light. Nice bathrooms, nice everything — not too big, not too small.
The parking area is quite nice as well as the outdoor section. WOW. The only thing missing was a good old-​fashioned «negro spiritual» with Gospel singing. The place kind of made me want to hear gospel music, lol!!!

We hosted a SXSW party here four or so years ago and we had the now famous Bassnectar and some defunct tequila company headlining this party. It is a gorgeous place, the acoustics are surprisingly good and the management was an absolute breeze to work with.
I can see where this would be a great place for a wedding or any other type of event you could imagine. The costs of renting this place aren’t as cut and dry as you think they are, and if you might end up a little short or end up staying a little late… they will definitely work with you. I’ve been to a wedding here since then… I couldn’t help but think of all the irreverent shit that was going on about 4 years ago in the same room. :)

Initially, we wanted a small, outdoor wedding. But upon consideration of the temperatures in December, we realized a venue with options for indoor AND outdoor would be more prudent and settled on Mercury Hall, which allowed us the flexibility to do either one easily.
While located minutes from downtown and major freeways, Mercury Hall feels like a small town, hill-​country chapel, probably because it was constructed in 1904 in a frontier town a couple of hours from Austin. The simple stained glass, white beadboard, and distressed wood floors provide a beautiful setting without a feeling of extravagance. The landscaping outside creates the perfect backdrop for a ceremony under the oak trees, or a space for guests to enjoy some cocktails among the indigenous plants and flowers.
And compared to other venues, Mercury Hall’s pricing seemed reasonable. You can bring in your own alcohol and use your own caterers (from their list of preferred vendors), which ends up being much more affordable than a country club or hotel. And because we scheduled for an «off peak» time, we not only got a discount on the space but also had the chairs and tables included in the price. The staff communicated promptly and clearly and provided all the support we needed in planning the big day. Pricing is listed on the website, but talk to Herb, the event director, because discounts may be available.
If you want a quaint, intimate event setting but don’t want to drive out of town, Mercury Hall offers a perfect balance.

This place is adorable — an old church turned event space. Smallish for a wedding but intimate, well done, with a textured ceiling, stained glass windows and everything just perfect.
It’s so beautiful I can easily imagine several things happening here — not including an all night rager but definitely including a christening party, a sweet sixteen, a confirmation, renewal of vows, etc and so on. There is an outside space as well although we didnt spend time out there because it felt like, as someone else described, «walking into someones mouth» outside. Hot and disgusting.
This is a perfect venue for a little soirée. Stop in and take a look. You’ll be able to picture you and your closest 100 friends laughing, enjoying and basking in the light that glows through those arched windows.
