I live at mueller so this truck is very easily accessible. They have different flavors daily and all I have tried have been great. Additionally be sure to try the plantains they are delicious!

To be clear: I tried the spinach and mushroom empanada as part of the Ubereats delivery service. The empanada was all spinach, I pulled it apart and didn’t find any mushrooms or cheese. The exterior shell was AMAZING and that’s why I’m giving 2 stars. The rice and beans were rock hard and plantains were tasteless. Sad about this as I Love to support small business and the quality they bring to the community.

I’ve been to the food trucks at Mueller Park a few times, and this place is always closed, but I had been dying to try it. I thought I was lucky when I saw they were at Fun Fun Fun Fest. I ordered the Argentinian one with beef, and I was standing in line at another food stand before I could even get halfway through my mmmPanada. The crust was too thick and hard, and the filling was just plain awful. The woman working there was very impolite when I asked her to explain the menu also. This is a cheap knock-​off of the Natchitoches Meat Pie (for anyone who knows what that is, you’ll agree).

I love the spinach and mushroom empanadas. They are so good. I’m not a fan of any of the the meaty ones– but all the veggie ones I’ve tried are amazing. Service is quick and friendly. I’ll be back when I’m in town.

So delish! I couldn’t decide so I got the green chile chicken and the Argentinean. Both were excellent! They stopped by my office park and everyone was raving about the plantains, so I will have to try those next time… hoping there will be a next time because I know these are going to be craved!

If I was judging on taste alone, I would say 5 stars, definitely. However, this was a blues on the green night, so one thing in particular peeved me. Yes, entrance into the event was free, but that does not mean I have more money to spend on food. I wanted to try a very missed delicacy from the land in which I studied abroad, so I figured why not get an empanada. However, I skipped the Argentinian and went straight to the chicken chili, best of both worlds, South America and Texas. Now for $ 6, I was expecting a giant meaty pocket to fill me up, however, I was sorrily mistaken. What I got was a $ 6 snack, leaving me unwilling to buy any more food since I was not trying to break the bank. You know what else I had… an empty stomach. It was delicious, especially with the chipotle mayo, but jeeeeeez louise– highway robbery for charging $ 6 for a delicacy from a country that sells these for pennies.

We left after several minutes of being ignored and given dirty looks by the employee/​er (?). All I know is there were ZERO customer service skills from whoever was at the window, but they were a MASTER at putting off bitchy vibes. If you’re not open, don’t be open. But don’t be rude to people who want to give you their money. Mmmpnadagettinmymoney

I’ve only tried this place once so far but I will definitely be going back. I got the Argentine and the Pineapple & cinnamon. Both were delicious. I’ve never had an empanada that wasn’t filled with like canned pumpkin or fruit before. So so good!

We ordered the BBQ Chopped Beef, Soy Chorizo with Brie, Spicy Black Bean, Green Chile Chicken empanadas, and fried plantains with mango sauce. I like the creativity of the fillings, yet I really don’t get all the accolades. I’ve had much, much better empanadas (admittedly, in DC, not here).
I prefer a crispy/​flaky dough, so that’s the first thing that could have been better. As for the fillings, all of our empanadas were pretty dry. Also, there is really is no word besides «icky» for the soy chorizo and whatever was mixed in with the black beans.

Had the Argentinian and Green Chili Chicken Empanadas and was amazed at the favors and how they composed it!!! Spectacular Saturday find in the Mueller area!!!

I’ve been to mmmpanadas before. I’ve even had the spinach and mushroom empanada before! But, today, I was offered the lime-​garlic aioli as a dipping sauce (evidently, it’s only by request that you get it).
I can tell you their spinach and mushroom empanadas are a good, solid and very awesome lunch dish. However, the aioli sends it into the stratosphere for taste! I will definitely be getting this again WITH the dipping sauce!
I also had the blueberry empanada for dessert. HIGHLY recommend!

We ate at the truck at Mueller for the first time today. It was definitely hit and miss. My green chile chicken empanada was tasty. Not a great size for the price, but not bad for a trendy food truck. I also ordered the fried plaintains. The salsa that accompanied it was really good, but either they were fried earlier and reheated or they were cooked in old oil. They had no real flavor of their own and had that awful dirty oil taste. I let the server know. She was thankful and said she’d let someone know, but did not go above and beyond and offer anything else or a refund. We’d likely try it again if in the area, but I’d only do it early in the day when the food might be fresher.

MMMpanadas is so yummy.
I love going to walk the dogs and picking up a few for lunch.
My favorites are spinach and mushroom.
Chicken Chile (this is really good with honey, which I put on at home)
Summer vegetable is seasonally available and amazing!
and you have to try the dessert mmmpanadas.
Peach, blueberry, pineapple and ginger so good!

I ordered the soy chorizo with brie empanada. The empanada was full of flavor, chorizo spices and tangy brie cheese.
I will be back to try some of their other items.

This place make some delicious Argentinian style beef empanadas. They have the standard hard boiled eggs and olives. They are really well seasoned and not at all bland. The dough is really good and not overly thick.
I’ve had a couple of others on the menu and they’re nothing to rave about. I believe I had the green chili and thought it was really bland and dry inside. Which was super disappointing!
Would go back just for the Argentinian though!

Simple straight forward, but looks like the only offer certain varieties at different times.
When I visited the Argentinian, Green chili, Breakfast, and Vegetarian where only available it seemed.
Having tried the green chili and the Argentinian I can only vouch for those items and the service and experience. Nicely run with a staff that could answer any questions about the product.
Inexpensive. Each empanada is 4 dollars when I visited, and they are a very good size, with plenty of filling. Even the sauces that come are solid, chipotle mayo is a great smokey burst, and the lime aoli is just bright and fresh and dripping with citrus tang.
The Argentinian is a hit. Backed with flavorful meat, egg, olives and I think some raisin, it is wonderfully seasoned. The green chili however is a little less impressive, and actually not packing much chili taste, and with a shredded chicken filling that is a bit bland. The pastry though is done well, nice and soft, not to thick or hard, and does have a classic small sweetness to the breading.
Very good all around, would definitely hit some of the other empanada flavors to try when in the mood.

One thing I am completely annoyed with in Austin is terrible customer service. I feel like every place I go lately is greeted with a lacking or completely absent customer service. I’m in a new area of town for work and exploring new lunch places. I go to mmmpanada because I’ve heard about it. Not even a hello from the truck counter woman. So I decided to just get my order and let the food speak for itself and try not to be annoyed by the hipster db attitude that I get a lot in this town. The empanada’s are alright but I can make better. Dough is not great, filling is pretty good. One sauce tastes like tartar sauce. I probably won’t be back.

I have heard so much hype about this truck I was so excited to give it a try. Honestly, I was left a little underwhelmed.
The fillings were delicious but the crust disappointed me. I am used to pastry a little lighter. It also didn’t taste fresh, but it was the end of the day.
I am giving 4 stars because the filling was delicious and exactly what I expected.
I will definitely give them another try.

Empanadas! Although I’ve had mmmpanadas in the past, I recently had an opportunity to visit again and try the Argentinian and the Ham and Cheese Experiment.
I loved The Argentinian — it catered to my palette perfectly with ground beef, a hard-​boiled egg, and some olives here and there. The taste was great and the ground beef and egg really complemented each other well, although I do wish there were a little more filling. Overall, very satisfied with this choice.
The Ham and Cheese Experiment was just OK. The impression I got from the description made me think there would be some special twist on it, but it really kind of tasted like a glorified hot pocket (although to mmmpanadas’ credit, I do love me some Ham & Cheese hot pockets).
The empanadas themselves were very tasty pastries — I agree with a previous reviewer that they are quickly flaky and buttery.
As a whole, mmmpanadas is a great option for anyone. Drinks and chips are both too expensive, though.

No, no, no.
You don’t get to charge $ 5 for a peach empanada. For a moment – a moment in which my judgment was clouded by hunger – I thought your egregious pricing might be warranted by truly incredible food. But mmmpanadas, your empanada wasn’t incredible. Not to say that it was bad, but it was squarely on par with the mediocre, 89¢ empanadas I’ve been finding at Mexican bakeries for years. You didn’t even win me over with scale, as your empanada was a scrawny little affair that would be afraid to show its face around a common danish.
Yes, you have a cute little red truck. Yes, you operate in a city of hipsters who love to shell out money to other hipsters doing totally average work. But no, you aren’t special or exciting or worth visiting again. Sorry.
