I have been going here for 4 years and I have loved everything I’ve ordered. Pad cashew is my favorite at the moment, really great flavor and lots of veggies. Their pad Thai is wonderful. You can’t go wrong here. Also get the fried ice cream on fire :) The only thing that could make this place better is if they were open on MONDAYS!

I have been eating here for years and used to love it. I think ownership has changed and it is not the same restaurant. I have attempted to dine here several times and have been told it would be 30+ minutes before food could be served. One time they told me that I would have to wait while the kitchen staff ate their lunch… really? The last time I visited, I chose to leave before my 30 minutes of waiting on food because both my daughter and I felt the place was extremely filthy(dirty dishes on the floor near the bathroom and kitchens). My daughter told me she couldn’t eat after seeing the filth. I so want my favorite Thai place to return, but I have serious doubts:-(

Some of the best Thai food in town! Authentic. Derive can be a little slow, so make sure you have time. Everything I have had there is amazing!

Unfortunately, after 4 years, my experience with Thai food in Austin continues to be disappointing. A new friend highly recommended this place. They have been to Thailand multiple times so I thought it’d be worth a try. I may need to reconsider this friendship. I have been twice now and feel I’ve given them a fair chance. Both visits were underwhelming and while the service may come with a smile, it was slow and inconsistent. On the first visit I tried their beef noodle soup. The flavor of the broth was ok, but there was barely any beef in it and the beef that was there was tough. I ended up bringing the rest of the broth home, added some other seasonings and some store bought stew meat that I seared first and simmered for a couple of hours. It became a much tastier meal. On the second visit, my friend and I waited nearly 40 minutes for our dishes. I’m normally quite patient, but this was during lunch on a weekday and after 30 minutes I asked our server if it would take much longer because I needed to go back to work. She went and checked and said«they’re cooking it now» seeming to have no concept for how long it had been since we ordered. I’m not sure what they were doing the previous 30 minutes, they weren’t busy. Once it arrived, both were a bit watery and neither of us were blown away. Needless to say, I have zero plans on returning. *They are closed on Mondays — found this out the hard way

Amazing Thai food. It’s very hard to find good food up in this area and I seem to end up back here pretty often. The chicken Sa Tay is absolutely delicious. I’m not a huge fan of the sauce they use though so I always get it on the side. Usually get the Pad Pak which is amazing. Tons of veggies and flavor.

The taste was awesome, very flavorful. I got the Tofu Cashew 3 star and it was great. Wife got the Pad Sad something with mushrooms, she loved hers too. We also had the mansoons rolls, and these tasted mehh… not that great; more grass than flavors. Definitely coming back. Very quite and nice staff.

Fresh, flavorful, and friendly! I’m new to the area and I’m so glad I found this place. We usually carry out but today we dined in. We had a party of 7 and everyone left happy and with a full stomach. Pad Ke Mao, Basil Rice, Tom Yum soup, Pad Se Eiw, all were big hits!

We used to eat at Muang Thai weekly. The food and service were both excellent. The last three times that we have eaten here, the service just got progressively worse. Tonight, we declared that we will not be going back. We don’t know if the ownership changed or what, but things have declined. First, it took forever just to have someone take our order. Then, 20 minutes after we ordered them, we were told that they were out of shrimp monsoon rolls. 20 minutes after that we finally got the soup we ordered, and, of course, the main dish right after. Staff from the kitchen had to keep delivering meals because the waitresses were too busy standing at the register talking. Sadly, one of our favorite places to eat no longer exists.

These guys are pathetic in service. We ordered Tom Yum shrimp. They brought Tom yum chicken. And we returned it. They changed it to shrimp. And guess what, in the last few spoons we found chicken. I guess they just picked the chicken and put shrimp. My wife does not eat meat and she was disgusted. Talked to manager/chef for refund and they refused. They do not have any respect for customer’s preferences! I am not going back here again and will request all my friends and family members the same. Vegetarian people please stop going to this place.

This place wins some for having a nice relaxing atmosphere. Not too loud here on a Saturday afternoon. Black Sabbath’s «Crazy Train» plays from several commercial grade speakers positioned strategically in one large room, oh. Sans-Ozzy as this would be the orchestral version. Ok enough of that lets get down to details Pros: Large portions — lots of veggies in the curry dish. rice comes with curry dishes! That’s great as most places charge extra. However this only looks good on the surface, it seems to be factored into the price. So much for pros… Cons: The Thai iced tea is served in a very tall thin glass making hard for me to even drink it out of a straw…(I’m tall…) They seemed to want to get rid of me in a hurry. However I came to eat alone so I suppose that could be expected. Or am I in the wrong part of town? Hope not! Before I was half done with my meal they brought me the check without even asking to refill my Thai Iced tea. Food: the red curry I had itself was good, however the vegetables seemed to be undercooked and did not really absorb the flavor. I’m not a chef but it was not enjoyable. Note: this is the first time I did not eat all of the contents of the curry dish. Was it because I was rushed? Was it because it was not cooked correctly… Take your pick. What started off as a nice environment and good music, ended up being. A depressing disappointment.

I don’t consider myself an expert in Thai food, but I have had my fair share, and holy yum batman, this place is good. We have been back several times over to reassure ourselves that we have found our favorite new Thai spot, and we are never disappointed. Our go to is the Time Kha with tofu and the basil fried rice with pork, but tack that on with five star spicy, on both, and its even more delicious. My only issue with this place(the reason it gets a four star rating instead of five) is the service is a little slow sometimes, but I have gotten used to this at almost any Asian food place we have been to.

I love thai food. I’d put it as one of my top Asian foods(maybe right after sushi). This place, for me, is out of the way as I am nowhere near Cedar Park. However, if I am in the area, I have food! It is a nice, basic feeling restaurant. Not trashy or «hole in the wall» but not like a fancy five star restaurant either. Either way, it did feel homey and was nice. I’d bring a date here. The three waiters I dealt with were all awesome! Very friendly and attentive. The price was right. I got Pad Kee Mao. I cleaned my plate, it was amazing. So basically, if you are in the area, and need to get your Thai Food on, go there!

This place is always spot on! The Pad Thai is the best I’ve ever had. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because I think they are a little overpriced. But damn are they good! Also, order the take out. Service at the restaurant itself tends to be somewhat slow.

Good Thai food, good prices! I went here for lunch and they had a really nice selection of thai food — actually the menu was huge. I ended up getting a red curry with chicken. I like my food pretty spicy, and I find most Thai restaurants to be very difficult to get the spice level right. This one didn’t ask me how spicy I wanted it — I ordered a meal that said it was spicy, so I assume they only have one level. I actually liked this because the spice level ended up pretty decent — not really spicy, but a good flavor. A lot of other Thai restaurants I’ve been to will make my food either super mild or so chock-full of dried red peppers that I find it inedible and it burns my entire face off. So while I probably would have preferred more spice, I thought they did a good job of making the food taste good. It’s really easy to get to, and there’s a lot of parking. They’re not open on Monday’s which is kind of annoying. It’s very nice and quiet inside, not a lot of people.

bleh. I’ve been a few times now since there’s not a lot of other Thai around but nothing I’ve tried has been very good. Especially the chicken Pad Thai — one of my defaults — here is is WAAAAY too sweet. Lay off the tamarind! I’ve tried some of the curries as well, asking for them as spicy as humanly possible and they ended up mid-level spicy and weren’t that great flavor-wise either. It’s nice to have some Thai in the area but it could definitely be better.

Last year, I used to have lunch here once, sometimes twice a week. The green curry and pad kee mao are the best Thai dishes I’ve had in north-ish Austin(aside from Titaya’s but that can’t even be comparable). The dishes are always fresh, fast, flavorful and SPICY! Not to mention the prices are amazing! I stopped going because one of the servers spent a lot of his time trying to be my friend. To the point where he would make fun of me for reading a book when I would have lunch by myself. Like, you don’t even know me bro! I found out earlier this year he was no longer working there so I went back. As always, the food was delicious. UNTILONEDAY… It was a Friday,(which meant Tom yum soup on the lunch special) and I was super stoked about my meal. Until I found a sweet n low packet at the bottom of my soup bowl. A WHOLEPACKET. I told the servers and all they said was, «oh.» Oh. Since then I’ve never looked back. I often crave that pad kee mao dish, until I think about how the sugar packet got into my soup… I give it three stars for the delicious food and decent service. But who knows how and why there was a sugar packet in my soup.

I am growing more and more convinced that the best restaurants(at least in my experience) are the ones that seem the least impressive from outside their building. Maybe all the effort is actually put into their food. MuangThai came up on my Unilocal search when I was craving some Thai curry. It’s close to where I live(Anderson Mill), and there’s plenty of parking/easy access from 183… in an upgraded retail center called«The Hub». Some of the reviews had me jaded that the food would be ok, but the service would suck. So here is the bottom line on the food: it’s awesome! The thai tea, the curry, chicken satay… every dish I have had here is fantastic! The service was always great as well. Especially when I order a pick up. Never took longer than 15 minutes, and my food was always packaged with a good sized paper bag with my name on it. None of that banned plastic grocery bag with handles tied in a knot here. Give this place a shot. Just remember that the spicy scale here is on-par to actual Thai restaurants in Thailand — very hot! I would recommend taking it 1-pepper spicy for your first round. If I am ever able to find the video, I’ll upload one of a friend eating the duck special at a 3-pepper level spicy… he was not prepared for it!

Ahhhh. Muangthai I would love to give you that one star upgrade, but, you have a tendency to over cook your noodles. Your pad thai can be a little on the sweet side, but, when I ask for it to be made«my way», you always oblige. Your service can be shady, but, when mistakes are made, corrections are made and everyone leaves happy. You are now serving beer and wine. WOOT!!. Speaking of beer, Shiner Bock is not an import y’all. Muangthai I love you for many reasons. You are close to my house. You know who I am when I walk in. You are always nice and friendly. You cook your veggies crispy, not soggy. Your dishes are usually spot on. You are not stingy with your tofu and veggies. You are love on my plate and in my belly. Your dishes of noodles, rice and soups keep me happy and satisfied. I always do either the fresh(soft) tofu, veggi, or shrimp options in my dishes, and, you always load me up. You are still giving my dishes that extra spice of love which I love you for. Are you giving me special treatment? Naw! I’ve seen everyone else getting this same lovin’. You have lots of personality and it shows in your dishes. Muangthai, you are true to your culture. Do not ever Americanize your food. I promise to remain a loyal fan as long as long as you promise to remain true and passionate to your cuisine and customer. Do we have a deal? Ohhh. I think so. Until next time. P. S. Stop overcooking my noodle! **NOMSG**

This was an accidental find through the Unilocal app when looking for Asian food. I thought, it’s in a shopping center, could it be that good? No. It’s better. It’s the best Thai food around. Every single thing we’ve tried, we look forward to coming back to. We almost never have leftovers because we will eat until we can’t anymore. Amazing.
