This is an awesome little hidden gem. Just barely off south 1st, the park is a quiet hidden retreat. I really like this pretty much undeveloped park; the spring fed creek with its little pond and water trough are unique. There are few options for parking but you’re going to the park; a short walk won’t hurt you.

Nick D Park is a great little ‘pocket park’ located on a quiet street in Bouldin Creek. Aside from it’s new swing set, it’s rather undeveloped and in some areas, unkept– but I think that’s the MO of this ‘hood. I know because I live there. It has a fantastic creek fed from a few springs which attracts birds of all types and during wetter months one can find families swimming and fishing in the large«bowl» on the north end. No parking, but if you’re coming to this park, you should be close enough to walk or bike anyway. Bring your dog — lots of trails and things to discover is this hidden jewel of South Austin.
