Octave Higher East is a vocal studio in Austin, Texas.

Teachers at Octave Higher East use the Institute for Vocal Advancement technique; widely regarded as one of the most successful vocal techniques. The IVA technique is used by over 100 Grammy winners in every genre of music.

Vocal students ages 5 – 65 are welcome to attend Octave Higher East for voice lessons from an IVA certified instructor.

I’m an IVA certified instructor, musician, songwriter, and blogger. I teach voice lessons with the Institute for Vocal Advancement and founded Austin’s vocal studio Octave Higher East in 2013.

The student-​teacher exchange is one of my favorite aspects of owning Octave Higher East. I believe the interchange of knowledge is a key component of becoming a better musician.
