Specialties

Opal Divine’s is a grill and bar serving American and Southwestern cuisine. Offering locally sourced food, 30+ craft brews from Texas, 60 Single Malt Scotches and one of the best craft beer selections in Austin.

We serve some of the freshest, all natural American and Southwestern food in town. We keep things local — from Texas craft beers to locally sourced ingredients in everything we cook. We use fresh, natural, never frozen antibiotic and hormone free beef, all natural chicken, and trans-fat free oils. Which means we have one of the best burgers in Austin. We also have a gluten free menu for gluten sensitive guests.

From our incredibly tasty burgers and cheesesteaks to the all-natural bacon and organic eggs in our brunches, you can’t go wrong when you dine at Opal Divine’s! Our bar features over 3 dozen draft beers, 60+ whiskies, and 100% agave tequila.

Open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, we have something for everybody. Our famous brunches include some of the best Bloody Mary’s in town and quality comfort food. That’s kind of the focus around here: Quality. Opal Divine’s provides only the finest quality whether it’s cooked or poured.

History

Established in 2000.

The original Opal Divine’s was founded by Susan and Michael Parker at 700 West 6th Street in downtown Austin. The business is named after Susan Parker’s grandmother. Originally more of a pub, we have expanded our restaurant offerings in recent years to include all natural proteins and fresh local produce. Now with three locations around the city, we offer everything, including one of the best burgers in Austin.

We were early adopters of «never ever» hormone and antibiotic beef for our burgers and have expanded that to include natural chicken, sustainable seafood and pork free of added nitrates or nitrites. We also have a gluten free menu.

We have always believed is serving the finest ingredients in both the bar and kitchens and now feature one of the largest collections of single malt and 100% Agave tequila in Austin. Our taps are filled with local Austin craft brewed beers and have served the first pints of many a local brewery. It’s worth it at Opal Divine’s.

Meet the Business Owner

Michael and Susan P.

Business Owner

Proprietors Michael & Susan Parker met & worked together at a local Pub through the ‘90s opening their first Opal Divine’s location, Freehouse, on a shoestring and a dream with a small family loan. They named it after Susan’s grandmother who enjoyed good music, good friends, good drink and a good card game.

The epic bar was developed from Michael Parker’s passion for Scotch Whisky. Michael hosts and teaches classes about the finer points of his favorite spirit through the annual Whisky Festival and numerous tutored tastings throughout the year.

Opal’s food menu was developed over the years by renowned chefs and of course, customers feedback resulting in some of the best ‘Austin Grill’ food in town.

Drink & food specials culminated from family, employee, & customer feedback resulting in our addictive cracked pepper fries; a Happy Hour worthy of Buddha’s smile; a brunch that Hendrix could experience (check out the drink carafes!), and a kids menu that even June Cleaver could love!
