O’Reilly Auto Parts

Called ahead after trying two other parts locations! The crew there tonight was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! My car is now running and I couldn’t have asked for better service! They also informed me that, if they don’t have the part, they can get it. Which is great to know! Why would I ever need to go anyplace else!

Stopped in here for some help with auto wax for my new car & they could not have been nicer! The young man helped me with every question I had & explained the different waxes, washes, & tools etc. that worked the best &/​or the best value. It was such a relief since I just left Pep Boys on S. Lamar and could not even get waited on. These guys definitely have my business from now on!

I’ve been in here before for pretty routine things like windshield wipers, etc.
Went in last week for a new battery. I had gotten a jump from AAA and their battery test said I needed a new battery (over 5 years on a 6 year battery). I went in, after comparing prices online at Autozone and seeing they were about the same, and told the young gentleman there that I needed a new battery for my Blazer. It took a few tries between the radio being too loud (he turned it down eventually) and the the guy mumbling, but eventually I got the battery I needed (although I did have to ask for the cheaper battery – that wasn’t immediately offered). Now comes the part that earns the 5 star status.
As a spoiled millenial who likes to save a buck but never bothered to watch my dad when he was working on the cars growing up, I was determined to install the battery, which I thought would be an easy task, given that O’Reilly’s provides tools to help you with repairs like these. After spending 10 or 15 minutes on my phone looking up how to change a battery, picking up random sockets from the tool cart hoping that I would find the right one, another gentleman behind the counter found the right tools for me and spent five or ten minutes switching the battery out for me. I hadn’t asked for his help (apparently my air of desperation and frustration was enough) but in a few minutes my baby was running again… and I noticed that my car was acting like it was in a horror movie, cranking even when the key was not in the ignition… but that, I have since found out from my mechanic, was a problem with my starter/​ignition switch. Stay tuned for a review of my mechanic…
Overall though, a very solid performance from O’Reilly’s

This is really a «zero» stars occasion.
I went in knowing exactly what i needed. Instead i was treated like a total idiot and told to «take it to the shop.» For a SPARK PLUG !! Eventually, he sighed and told me «i’ll get you what you want.» After firing off a round of questions at me regarding my vehicle, it was my time to sigh and exclaim that i would go somewhere more helpful.
Funny thing is, he probably could’ve talked me into buying more than just the spark plugs had he taken the time to listen and engage me. Lost sale FOREVER.
