A shameless 5 stars for my fast food burger bar of choice. They can take most of the credit for getting me through Wednesday’s at work which I tolerate driving all the way out to cedar park for exclusively because I know I can self administer a medicinal double cheese burger on the way home. Their organic, free range hormone free philosophy means it’s practically healthy in my book. Particular props to Julian who is always a whirlwind of efficiency — even when the line of cars is backed up on to the road. It’s not gourmet, but for a fast food fix that’s locally owned, animal friendly(as far as meat can be!) and cheap as chips I can’t give it less than 5*s. So I won’t.

Everything we’ve tried so far is well above average for a fast food burger place, keeping in mind this is a fairly low bar. Pros: * Good coffee, good fries, pretty good burgers, and I like the whole wheat bun option * They’re not screwing around with those jalapenos — they’re plenty hot * Reasonably fast Cons: * It’s exclusively a drive through and — every time we’ve been here — there have been difficulties placing and hearing back our order(they go real fast). * Their huge, red sign isn’t essentially a Jupiter Jump lit with a gigantic, blinking spotlight held up by a ceramic, life-size King Kong. So major points lost there. [Sarcasm translation: sign too big.] I haven’t tried their breakfast items.

I love P. Terrys! Have been eating here since I moved to Austin in 2005. This is a company that truly has it together as a burger joint and as a company. Great customer service, awesome food, quick, clean, consistent, easy menu to navigate. Everything they offer is fresh, high quality and tasty… not over-salted. Some people say they don’t offer a large enough meat patty, but what I say to those people is «just get a double». Personally, I like a smaller patty. Who needs all that meat? To me, their burgers are very nicely proportioned. Love that you can get grilled jalapenos and grilled onions, love that they have fresh lemonade, wheat buns, fresh cut fries, and that they offer chicken and veggie burgers since I stopped eating beef. Their chicken burgers aren’t just a grilled or fried piece of chicken… they’re actually fresh ground patties that are juicy and tasty. I’ve been seeing their veggie and vegan burgers in the frozen section of the grocery store. Needless to say, I’m extremely impressed with PTerrys overall. Just wish they would branch out at least as far as the adjacent suburbs of Austin.

We eat P. Terry’s food quite a bit. Their food quality is very good. Last week ordered a chicken burger for my daughter. Got home and she found a veggie burger instead. I visited their website and let them know. I got a prompt response. Also my daughter got gift cards by mail and a note of apology from Reagan. Needless to say my daughter forgot about last week — and I’m very pleased too. Such prompt and unconditional customer service — even for small matters — tells me they take their customers and hence their food seriously. This classic born-in-Austin business, is poised to serve happy customers for years.

Update: SO impressed with their customer service!!! Someone saw my previous review and made sure to make things right. They gave me a free meal as incentive to give it another chance, which was much better. Although the fries were still not warm, everything else was perfect! The quality of customer care has changed my opinion drastically and I have officially become a P. Terry’s fan :) I moved to Austin recently and finally took the plunge to try the famous P. Terry’s burger! I came during an «off» time and was the only car in line, so the following makes sense… I pulled up to the window and my food was ready immediately. I was impressed w/the speed, until I actually tried it a few seconds later. The fries were good enough that I bet they’re normally great, but these were cold and clearly had been sitting around for a long time. Then I got home to eat the cheeseburger. Overall it was good, but there was literally twice as much lettuce as there was burger, just one, thin, small tomato, and I’m not sure if they even put the sauce on it or not, even though I asked for everything. I could barely taste the beef and cheese over all the lettuce, so once I evened it out, the burger was really good. I think this place has great potential, but unfortunately, some laziness made for a lackluster meal. Not sure if I’ll go back to give it another try or not.

Tried P. Terry’s for the first time today and have to say I’m not a fan. Their menu is very simplistic, service was great, and the drive through was fast. The burgers are small(think kids burger) and the fries are like shoestring fries. Everything tasted okay and if you like In and Out, you’ll probably like P. Terry’s. As for me, I think I’ll stick with Whataburger or Sonic.

Ok — can a fast food burger really be 5 stars? I dunno. But we frequent this P Terry’s! So I’m I’m rating based on what it is… a fast food burger; and this one is one of our more favorites. I’m always impressed with how quickly they get people through the drive through(note: this location is drive through only). They’ve gotten our order correct EVERYSINGLETIME, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. I always get a burger on a wheat bun with pickles, onion and jalapenos. Jalapeño lovers — the jalapenos they add here are all chopped up and evenly spread over the burger perfectly; do not deny yourself this deliciousness.

Our 1st visit. Greasy cheesey burger. Thin patty. Good flavor. 4 combos– 2 single burgers, 1 double burger, and a chicken burger for $ 27.00. That’s about a dollar or 2 cheaper than Whataburger, but the burgers are considerably smaller. I’m not a big fan of the natural cut fries. I mean everything was good, but that’s just it. Nothing fantastic. It will be a place we visit for a change of pace.

They never cease to amaze me with thier lack of incompetency. Every time I go there they ALWAYS seem to get my order wrong, even after I ask them to repeat my order multiple times. How can you guys not get an order correct, even when asked to repeat the order at the cashier and the food pick up? Unfortunately, I do not have more time during my lunch to drive to a better location. This location is highly incompetent. The manager needs to be retrained in order to train his/her own employees!

The burger was ok. The fries, not so much. I don’t know why the fries at these places(In N Out for ex) are so terrible. I think the best thing about P Terry’s are the shakes. The wait was also a turn off. They only had one line open and this was on a Friday night which I’m sure they should know is one of the busiest times. This one is drive thru only, so no place to sit which was fine this time. Despite me telling the cashier several times that I only wanted a burger on this particular order, she still ended up making it a combo. Smh, oh well lol!!!

We absolutely LOVE their food! I’m not a huge burger fan and they make a great chicken burger. My kids love their cheese burgers & cookies. IMO much, much better than both Whataburger and In-N-Out.

I’m upping my review. We’ve been back a couple times and things are much better. No more undercooked burgers! The burgers actually are decent. Nothing earth shattering, but tasty. The fries are nice, if lacking crispness. The shakes very good. The staff is always very nice and it’s quick and easy to get your food and get on the road. Overall, It’s a pretty good meal for the price.

The Burger was good but the fries were a little greasy… They advertise«All natural» but as we know that doesn’t mean much. I highly doubt that their beef is grass-fed, grass finished. But it was a decent burger. Freshly cooked, juicy and well-balanced. Great size for the price

Love the special sauce! It’s my first time and I’m not disappointed at all, the wait is a bit long but it’s worth it and the employees are very nice about it Happy national cheeseburger day!

Since the night before I had the cheeseburger, I decided to try the chicken burger at P Terry’s. I am delighted to to say that it is delicious. It is made of ground chicken; I ordered mine specifically with only lettuce and the Swiss cheese that it normally comes with. The burger was flavorful, but not overpowering. It was tasty, without being salty. Overall, the chicken burger was a good choice and I would order it again. I ordered french fries and a drink to go with my burger(as a combo deal) and it cost me about $ 7 to $ 8. This P Terry’s gives you an ample amount of french fries, and to be honest, I couldn’t even finish the entire order of fries. All in all, going to this P Terry’s location was a great experience. If you’re not from Austin and have not eaten at P Terry’s before, I recommend it– as it is an Austin classic.

P Terry’s is a great Austin knock off of in n out! I’ve never have their beef hamburgers or breakfast items but they have great hot and fresh ground chicken burgers and fries! They also have great lemonade and cookies! They are pretty cheap and have great free or close to free add-ons. The only reason for 3 stars is because this location in particular. The parking lot is small and the drive thru staff is a hit or miss. One day I am getting offered everything on the menu as an up sale attempt. On another day, I can barely get my order out without the drive thru attendant saying anything else and rushing me along. This just takes longer to order because we end up talking on top on each other and me, having to repeat it. A piece of advice to management, teach your drive thru attendants to just say okay, and let us finish. Other then that, I love P Terry’s!

Per a friend’s recommendation, I ordered the double cheeseburger(+pickles, sub wheat bun, sub mustard and ketchup since I heard the special sauce was mayonnaise based and that kind of grosses me out) and a toffee shake. Omg, that burger was huge and super awesome. Cheap, too, at 3.60. The shake was even better. This location is drive through only, and service was friendly and prompt. I came at lunch and the parking lot was crazy, but that won’t deter me from coming back.

I think they must have had new people training yesterday when I went through because the guy taking the order had a hard time getting my fairly simple #3, no cheese with an unsweet tea. I pulled up, paid and while I waited asked if he could throw away an empty cup I had. He seemed very put out/angry and said«No our policy is we can’t take your trash.» I’d like to suggest they get a trash can to put about window high so people can do that instead of doing what the cashier suggested, being«Park my car and walk my cup to the full sized dumpster.» This while there is a line of vehicles waiting that I can’t even get around and there is no place to park. Very frustrating! Then I get my food and there was no straw in the bag. It was the last straw!(Minus the straw.) Don’t think I’ll be heading back to this place anytime soon.

Went for my «lunch» today(I work the early shift) at 10:00 and got breakfast for the first time. I had an egg burger(no cheese) with ham, breakfast potatoes, and lemonade. The wait was not long at all… Only one car in front of me. And the service was just fine. I liked the sandwich, but the potatoes weren’t for me… I like their fries better. But the sandwich was good(and HOT) and their lemonade is always amazing!!! My only wish I’d that they wouldn’t give out ketchup with high fructose corn syrup in it. :/

Awesome burgers and fries. The only thing I wish they would do is open the 2nd drive thru lane. There’s no indoor seating so you have to drive thru. The line is always long because they rarely use the 2nd lane(I’ve never seen it open and have been here a bunch of times). My work is nearby but I spend way too much time waiting in line during my lunch break. I’d also love an all day breakfast menu. Egg burgers rock!

I love P. Terry’s and would normally rate them as a 5, except for the fact that this location is the worst. Drive thru only so no indoor seating, and once you exit the line you are spit out right into the side ramp traffic of 183. Sadly this is the nearest location to my house(and is still half an hour away from it), but when the craving hits you do what you will. My first visit here was only a couple days ago and the guy I gave my order to was very nice. He got everything right and even repeated it back to me which I appreciated. The second guy at the window where you get your food however was a different story. When I pulled up he said, «back for a second time today huh?». I was confused as again, this was my first visit to this location, so I said«nope sorry you are thinking of someone else». He rolled his eyes and laughed saying something back along the lines of «yeah sure». On this order I got 2 cookies along with my meal; one for myself and one to bring home to my husband since he loves them too. After handing me my bag the last thing he said was«enjoy your third cookie of the day». Seriously?! Now let’s think about this for a second shall we? I’m no mathematician, but for kicks let’s say that I had in fact been there earlier that day. The fictional visit plus my actual visit would then equal more money for the company correct? Okay then. So maybe in the future don’t make someone(especially a woman, come on dude!) feel guilty about coming here or accuse them of already doing so that day. No need to call them out on it or scare away potential people(me) from wanting to come back and instead driving out of their way to go to the domain location.

P. Terry’s has a charisma that’s hard to resist when the late night munchies come around. The bold colors and signage just draw you into the drive thru line. I was having a hankering for some fast food one evening and decided to try their chicken burger with fries. I was actually pretty impressed with the meat patty. It was moist and I actually liked it with the melty cheese and burger fixins on top. Their fries are nothing special, however, compared to your other fast food joints. I had higher hopes for their fry quality(fry snob alert, I know). All in all, this place is great for a quick bite and to satisfy those fast food cravings — definitely would choose this place over any other fast food joint!

Solid fast food burger joint in the area with some rockin’ lemonade. The burgers are tasty but I think I’m an In N’ Out girl. But I seriously cannot knock this place because they had fast service, friendly staff and delicious fries that we ate on the way home. And this place reminds me of the Flintstones movie for some reason. Maybe the shape of the building but I’m not an architect. My only regret is that I didn’t order a milkshake.
