Palm Beach Tan

I witnessed the woman working (who was an adult) count from 1 – 9 on her fingers to see which month matched my September birthday. After painfully watching that, she continued to try to sell me on product. I had to have told her no three times before she chimed in that no spray tan was guaranteed.
I get it. You’re trained to sell, but if my history shows I’ve been tanning with you guys for several years and never have purchased a primer — let it go. Now I have to go out of my way to avoid this location. It’s such a shame because I really enjoyed their versa pro, but I’ll stay going south where they specialize in customer service, not commission.

I can’t say enough about palm beach tan Austin, and the arboretum location especially. They have an amazing selection of beds, a clean facility, and an incredibly friendly and customer service oriented staff. Recently after seeing that a floor hadn’t been cleaned before the room was assigned to me to tan, I received a call from McKenzie moments after I left apologizing for the oversight and granting upgrades to my account to compensate. The customer service at the Arboretum location goes above and beyond and it is noticed and appreciated by its loyal customers! Thank you Palm Beach Tan for valuing your customers and being the best tanning salon in Austin!

I am a brand new member at Palm Beach Tan mainly for pricing and options. I have a «Silver Package» and is only $ 19.99 a month. I came here on my lunch break with my assistant to get memberships and it took our entire lunch to do so. The employee was very knowledgeable and polite. Slightly pushy but that’s to be expected. My only complaint thus far and the reasoning behind 4 stars is they clearly understaff. This poor girl had a line of about 8 people behind us and she said it is normal to get that backed up and tried to accommodate everyone’s needs. I might recommend staffing more for busier hours or days.

This place is amazing! Favorite tanning salon ever. The staff is amazing and super helpful. They have a great selection of tanning products and the beds get you extremely dark. They have multiple spray tan booths and Iove them all. I would highly recommend this place because of both the staff and atmosphere! :)

Seems like every time we go there something broken and we have to go to another location. The staff could care less.

I live in a different city and needed to get a spray tan. I was sent to this particular location because they had a Versa Spa Pro — however, due to different regions, apparently, you have a «dummy» profile in the new region. So unnecessary gas was wasted because not all Palm Beach Tan employees know this. I walked in and let the woman know I was from a different region. The woman that checked me in — a woman with dark brown shoulder length hair — tried to sell me primer, which I already had.
The room was filthy and there were no goggles.
I left an expensive item in this room. When I realized that I had left it and called back, the two people that I spoke to on the phone were rude — especially the man. He was unwilling to check the lost and found and pretty much just wrote me off. It was some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Next I asked to talk to the woman that had originally checked me in. She at least went into the room and checked the room out as well as the lost and found box (the man was unwilling to do either of these things). Still the item was not found. This woman told me that she was the next person in the room following my departure to clean it. They, however, would not call around to the other customers that had been in that room. «That’s poor customer service» is all I heard both of them say. Well their customer service towards me has cost Palm Beach Tan my membership. There are other tanning facilities in Texas and I will GLADLY take my money elsewhere. «Oh you’re not in our region, otherwise I could offer you free tans. You should talk to your region about this, I’m sure they’ll give you free tans» — I don’t want FREE TANS, I want my item that you probably stole from me!
I returned to the salon to check the room myself. Both the woman and the man became extremely defensive stating they left the room dirty (following a different customer, I assume) so I could check. I did so. I told them that I would have to file a police report on the stolen item, which I did. Remember that dummy profile? She printed out a consent that I «supposedly» signed which didn’t have MY signature on it, which made her argument invalid. She also said that I was a member since 2012, when in fact I joined last month. She was making all these accusations and she didn’t even have the facts straight. She also had no way of getting any of my information off this dummy profile and wouldn’t have even been able to call me had she found the item.
The woman also told her regional and store manager facts about the item that I did not tell her.
To top it off, a Versa Spa customer came in while I was there and the room was still dirty, the man said «Sorry, we’ve been having to deal with an issue, it’ll be a minute» and I apologized ingeniously about being his «issue». He then shot back that that isn’t what he said. Which it CLEARLY was what he said.
These two people basically stated that I was crazy because I must have taken the item with me — I searched HIGH AND LOW in my purse, car, home. I did not have it — therefore I left it.
I contacted my PBT that I frequent in my city. They were so genuine in their apology and offered me the customer service line that serves Austin and my city — something that neither the man nor woman offered me. I told them I would have to cancel my membership to save up for the item new as it has a lot of sentimental value to me. The woman at my PBT that I spoke to on the phone was so nice and helpful — unlike ANYONE at the Austin store.

I’ve been a member here for 5 or 6 years. It’s always been pretty good to me! The associates are friendly and knowledgeable, the facility seems clean, and they regularly update their beds and spray-​tan booths. I really enjoy having member reward points that I can redeem for free tanning products or discounts.

I love this location! They have the best beds and the customer service is the best I’ve had. The manager Dustin has helped me in many ways and his kindness is more than anyone could explain. Love this location!!! They have the best beds out if any location I’ve been to also. 5 stars easy!!!

I have been going to this location for over 7 years and have nothing but good things to say about the exceptional service I get every time I go in! I have had times were I wanted to go on stand-​by and was a couple days too late but they credited back my account no hassle! I have been on stand-​by for the past two years (I wish I had the time to go regularly) and the staff always still give me the benefits of the free ad ons! Its so nice to go into a business and have the staff so friendly and treat you as if they have known you your whole life! Today I went in for a Mystic at about 10:30pm and even though they close at 11pm I did not feel rushed at all and even had a nice chat! The machines are always sooo clean. Having started going here when I was 14 it is nice to be respected and not overlooked. Seven years later and I still love coming here as often as I can! Thank you to the staff at Palm Beach Tan for your commitment to customer service! Especially its newest staff member Lindsay for all your help tonight and being so cool and helpful! What a great tanning salon that after being there only one month a new staff member has so much pride in working hard to make customers happy! Kudos to Palm Beach Tan!

Overpriced $ 59.95 a month for unlimited spray tan compared to $ 29.95 I’m now paying at Tan Etc
Staff is rude, always seems to be bothered that you are coming in. Constantly try to push lotion every single time you go to tan some days I just want to go in and get my spray tan not defend myself against why I do not need new products.
My advice go next door to Tan Etc for half the price can get a friendly staff that also doesn’t haggle over lotions.

Had a great experience. Am a newbie to Mystic tanning. An employee walked me through the process and gave me great tips given the wedding I was going to wasn’t for 6 days. If I need this service again, I will definitely be back.

Super clean beds and common area! The Girls know me by name and know what beds I prefer. Give them a chance to fill your tanning needs! BED 1 is worth the money hands down!

I’ve been a member for about a year and didnt know about this location till recently!
This first couple times I came the staff was really nice and friendly, but about a month ago I brought my friend in who came to become a member. After waiting inline for 10 minutes we finally go to the front of the line, and this new girl who I hadnt seen before told us to sit on the couch because we were going to «take longer» then the others because my friend wanted to sign up.
… 20 minutes later the same girl comes up to us and says she is ready for us now, she tries to upsell my friend even though she knew the level of tanning she wanted, finally after getting her to realize we did NOT want the super platnium extream delux package she started to get her signed up.
After we get her signed up she starts talking about the lotions and how she needs this and that to get a certain tan, and she starts talking about the «tingle» lotions, and she looks at me and I let them both know that I’m allergic to the tingle so I dont use it. This girl doesnt just laugh at me. but she SNORTS!!! and then tells my friend everyone thinks that, like I’m not even there!!!
Finally we get everything done and are able to tan, the whole ordeal takes about 1.5 hours — and everytime my friend has gone back the same girl «decides» how long she will go, my friend doesnt have the option of choosing…
I’ve been to other locations and they are sooo much better!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!! Powerful beds! Affordably priced! Always clean! Plenty of open beds all the time! Friendly staff! HUGE product selection! AND BEST OF ALL… Constant customer rebates & rewards!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE! The location is awesome & I never have to wait or deal with rude staff! I love the girls that work here. ESPECIALLY Denise! She is AWESOME!!! They know you by name and always have a smile on their faces! I will NEVER go anywhere else & I would recommend this place to ALL of my friends!

To be honest, Palm Beach Tan isn’t all that bad of a place, but I just signed up to do a month of the Versa Spa tan and was told I could cancel at anytime before the next billing period. I canceled a few days before the next billing period but apparently I was a week late in canceling during a certain period so I got billed another $ 60 for a service I wasn’t even satisfied with and wasn’t going to use!
I got a hold of the customer service center and they said I initialed a paper when I signed up saying I had to cancel in a certain time frame. I’ll admit, dumb on my part to not carefully review the paperwork, but I don’t think it’s hard for them to refund my money when I wasn’t even satisfied with the product all because I initialed a document.
I’ll never be coming here again after such a bad customer service experience and won’t recommend it to friends. Beyond that though, the employees were always nice and the facilities were clean so I can’t lie about that.

I put my account on a 5 dollar a month hold and my bank account number changed over the summer. I wasn’t notified of the mistake until I came back in the winter to reopen my account and had a $ 75 fine on top of the $ 40 «maintenance fee» to hold my account for the season.
Not that I don’t just love high pressure sales from self-​important high school kids, but today I was forced to tan for 8 minutes less than I usually do because I hadn’t been in two weeks. Look outside people! It’s summertime in Austin, Texas. There are a hundred and one places to get a town in this city from the REAL SUN.
If your corporation cannot realize the needs of its clientele, then maybe you should send your CEO back to business school. The 80’s are over. Welcome to the recession.

A lady who looked a lot like a California Raisin came out of here one day, and I’m pretty sure Palm Beach Tan can give a person cancer. However, it won’t give you cancer or turn you into a raisin any worse than other tanning salons, so I will review it in comparison to its peers.
Great hours – 6am-​11pm on weekdays!
Convenience – The location offers plenty of parking and it’s very close to HEB, Randalls, and 24-​Hour Fitness, so you can just drop in for 15 min while you’re running errands. Goggles are provided here, too, so you don’t have to worry about keeping up with your own or paying a fee to borrow some.
Quality – The facilities are exceptionally clean and the bulbs are changed regularly. And, even the lowest level of membership gives you access to well-​maintained facial beds.
Staff – The gals here seem pretty laid back, sometimes to the point of being distracted. One nice thing is their total lack of sales pressure. Typically tanning salon workers have tried to upsell me to the Platinum package or something or get me to invest in an $ 80 tanning lotion. These ladies don’t really seem concerned about all that. They’re polite, but get right to the point – «Name? How long? Okay, room —-.»
Palm Beach also offers Mystic Tan. Personally, I don’t like it. The smell gives me a headache, the waiting to shower thing really annoys me, and the color doesn’t look exactly right; however, many people don’t tan well from UV or they may need a tan fast, so Mystic would be good for them. It is, after all, the choice of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. So it’s got that going for it, which is nice.
