One of the things I miss most since turning vegetarian is Phở. Phở Thaison has a decent vegetarian Phở. Apart from that, we tried their Singaporean Tofu and it was amazing. Amazing service and good food…4 stars in my book.

Awesome phở & springrolls, on par with other local Viet eateries. The service was attentive, prompt, and welcoming. The broth of the phở was very tasty and definitely on par with the best of Austin. Very filling and satisfying USA size serving. If you are looking for a quick, reasonably priced phở in a nice local location, you really won’t find better than this! I’m a fan and I will be back!

This is probably my favorite phở place now! I’ve been to many phở restaurants in Dallas and Austin and this one definitely has them all beat. No matter which combination of meats you get, they’re all the same inexpensive price of $ 8. For only $ 8, you get a decent sized bowl with a generous amount of meat, compared to the small amount of meat at other phở restaurants. The broth was also delicious and not too salty like many other phở restaurants. You get a free eggroll when you check in which was so good that my boyfriend and I ordered more. The Thai tea was very authentic and stronger than most Thai teas. The owner surprised us with complementary tea and a cookie at the end which was really good! Service was average and they forgot our order of eggrolls, but honestly the food was so good for its price that this restaurant is still really worth it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for anybody craving phở like I was!

This was my first and last visit. I love Vietnamese food but honestly I felt sick to my stomach after eating here. I ordered a vermicelli bowl with pork. My favorite part of any vermicelli bowl are the pickled carrots, fresh cucumbers and crunchy lettuce. Yum! Except there were only 2 round slices of cucumber, a few cheese-gratings of pickled carrot, and the lettuce was the kind you would see on a fast-food burger. There was a sign that said«Please Wait to be Seated.» We stood in the doorway for about 5 minutes before an employee acknowledged our existence. This place has an open floor plan and isn’t terribly big so I know that all the employees who walked past us saw us. I would have felt better about it if they had just said, «We will be with you in a minute.» We were sat at a table facing the front door, so I saw that many other customers felt the same way.

Pretty good Vietnamese restaurant. Good customer service and pretty decent quality food. Had the meatball phở, spring roll, egg rolls, and tai tea. The meatball phở was not as oily as other Vietnamese restaurants, which is good. And their tai tea tasted excellent. The restaurant is pretty spacious and the decorations inside are nice. Didn’t get a chance to se the restrooms there, but judging by the interior, I’m sure it was clean. Only complaint would be that you have to tell the cashier if you use the Unilocal check in deal otherwise he’ll charge you for it.

What a different experience this time. I ordered the pork vermicelli bowl. It comes with an egg roll. After they brought it, they told me that they were out egg rolls. I expressed confusion but not anger about it. The server offered me a spring roll instead. Great! I was really happy with this solution. I heard yelling from the kitchen and then a person that identified himself as the manager came out and YELLED that if I wanted a spring roll, I would have to pay for it. I told him his server offered that I didn’t ask. He yelled NO. I just ok, then I don’t want it. 1. It’s totally fine to run out of things on the menu, it is a sign of fresh food. Just tell customers about it when they order. 2. If your server offers something as a substitution, stand behind them. It’s called customer service. 3. Don’t yell at staff in a way that can be heard from the floor. It’s unprofessional and makes people not want to give you their patronage. 4. NEVER yell at a customer. I didn’t ask for the spring roll, it was offered. I did no wrong. I was not rude. You could have simply come out and said something like«I’m sorry we ran out of egg rolls, but I can’t substitute a spring roll for an egg roll.» Done. No problem. I understand. I’ve been to this place 30 or more times and have recommended it to everyone I know. I don’t think I’ll be back and definitely won’t recommend it again. Note: also, you give them away for free as a Unilocal coupon. Either egg roll or spring roll.

Who said only $$$$ can buy tasty food? This place has the best phở ini Austin! This place seems to be family operated, but it is maintained very well compared to other family operated Asian restaurnts in Austin. I highly recommend the fried egg roll,(FREE if you check in), yeah it was free, but honestly I would even pay $ 5 for one roll. It was THAT good. Phở #3(steak and brisket) was decent, thouogh briskets were too fatty for my taste. well that’s a personal preference. The broth was amazingly good, I felt like we DRANK the broth. The noodles somehow were not fully cooked but still passable. I highly recommend SHAKENBEEF. The beef chucks were juicy and flavorful. with some lime/salt sauce… drooling. The portion was very good fro $ 11(hey, you are getting some pretty good ass beef). At the end, the lady offered us some tea and a coconut roll as a dessert. its FREE! it was great to «rinse» ourself after that tasty meal.

This is my favorite phở in all of Austin. Such a friendly family-run restaurant. They have a lot of tables, so I’ve almost never had to wait to be seated. Fresh fresh fresh ingredients. They have some of the best phở broth in town, and use fresh, colorful, and delicious herbs and vegetables. They also sell this special garlic shrimp and crab rice pasta(gluten-free_dish that we cannot turn down — it’s delicious! Well-marked menu for gluten-free folks.

My sisters and I just grabbed some hopdoddy earlier and were very full, but we wanted to try this place out so we just went next door to get some phở. This was our 2nd dinner! Service here is pretty chill. The lady was nice, but a bit quiet until she learned that we understood viet and was more talkative afterwards. CHINNAMGAUGANSACH– brisket, flank, fatty brisket, tendon, and tripe The phở was pretty simple in flavor. The broth was very light and could’ve used more flavor. The meat was chewy and a bit tough. It didn’t taste like authentic phở. I could pass on this next time. I’ve had cheaper phở, but with better flavors; so I’ll save my money next time. I have yet to find a good phở restaurant in Austin.

This was my first time to come here. I went up to the counter and ordered some phở to go. They said it would be 15 – 20 minutes. Wow… that’s a long time to wait for a bowl of phở. I decided to check in via Unilocal while I was waiting. As soon as I did, I got a coupon for a free egg roll or spring roll. I showed it to the cashier and they said they don’t apply for to go orders. The staff were not very friendly. In fact, I have a habit of saying thank you a lot. Well, anytime someone does something for me. When they handed me my receipt, I said thank you before I went to sit and wait. After he gave me my food, I said thank you again. He didn’t smile or even acknowledge that I said anything to him. In fact, he and the other staff seem to have very little interest in smiling or communicating more than what is absolute necessary. I wasn’t wanting to chat with them, but some friendliness would have been nice. NOT a very good first impression! I am staying in a hotel, so after I received my order, I started thinking… hmm, how will I eat this at my hotel room? I don’t have any dishes. I then unpacked my food and asked the waiter for a bowl and some utensils. He took all my food back and then brought it back out as a normal staying in meal. He didn’t smile or even talk. He just took it and brought it back and set it down, then quickly walked off. I tried to say thank you, but he was gone too fast. He did bring me a glass of water without being asked, but no one ever came by to refill it after it was all the way empty. In fact, no one ever checked on me again. The phở was just okay. If everything else had been perfect and the phở tasted like this, I still would never come back. All the way around, this was a horrible experience. Perhaps I am just spoiled by the amazing food and service of my local restaurant, Phở Ben in Sugar Land. They can have a bowl of phở out in less than 5 minutes, piping hot and very fresh and delicious. They can even do that when they’re extremely busy. They are always very friendly and helpful too. If I had never had phở, nor a good dining experience I would still say this was a terrible restaurant. From the time I walked in, until the time I walked out, I felt like I was not wanted in their restaurant and they could care less if I was happy. FORGETTHAT! I chose this place because of the other reviews. Well, unfortunately, I didn’t have the same experience. I will NEVER come back, ever.

I don’t even know where to begin. The Chinatown center was completely jam-packed so we opted for Phở Thaison instead. I expected it to be just as good as its reviews, but what a mess this place turned out to be! Let me just say first that it wasn’t busy when we walked in. Although we were greeted and seated immediately, it took a while for anyone to acknowledge us. We waited & waited. & waited & waited until I flagged down a waitress. She rushed us to where we were still pointing at the menu while she was picking them up. :( *Check in for a free egg roll or spring roll & specify on what you want. There were a couple of mix ups with our orders. Our pork spring roll came out to be an egg roll. New guy tried, but wasn’t able to differentiate between our bowls of phở so we had to guess which one we had since our orders were quite similar. Turned out — we got each other’s order. — Phở(3⁄5): The broth was flavorful & their sliced beef(tai) were oh so tender. I love love love fatty briskets(gau) in my phở. It’s probably the #1 thing that ties it all together for me. So with that being said, I was so displeased with their gau. It was thiiick and very very tough to chew through. — Pork Spring Rolls(2⁄5): Kind of bland & so was their peanut sauce. But it was free. — Pork Belly Buns(2⁄5): The buns looked very appealing, but they was anything but. Sadly, the pork was tough. The appetizer overall was cold & there was just a mini dab of that sweet sauce so I added hoisin to it. Needless to say, we won’t be returning. I felt as though they were understaffed & with no proper training whatsoever. But! The new guy really busted his butt — sweating & scuttling around getting everyone’s order out so kudos to him!

I ordered phở and egg rolls. The meat was good quality but the phở was very greasy and salty. The egg rolls were delicious though! :)

We’ve been to this neighborhood restaurant many times and consider it a winner. We have tried a number of dishes and appetizers and they have all been consistently very good. The food is freshly prepared and absent the heavy, gloppy sauces and additives(which seems to be getting more and more common with Asian foods). Prices maybe a bit high, compared with other Asian restaurants, but the freshness and clean tastes makes it good value. The staff is very attentive and friendly. It is located on Anderson Lane next to the very highly overrated HopDaddy.

So far this is our favorite Phở place! 1. better quality meat 2. flavorful but not oily broth 3. overall satisfying Fast Facts: Fresh lemonade comes in a huge cup Tasty pork(I sub rice for noodles) Sauces are on point They give a little cup of tea and a small pirouline(rolled waffer) w/the check During lunch pay at the counter, for dinner they pick up your payment Single restrooms for both genders Can be a wait during lunch

It wasn’t terrible, but definitely not the best Vietnamese food, Austin has to offer. We had the grilled-pork/egg-roll and grilled-pork/shrimp vermicelli bowls. We also tried their pork-belly slider starters. The starters were pretty good and also what kept me from giving it a lower rating. The vermicelli bowls were OK, but nothing to write home about. What really sucks about this place is the service. It was unusually slow and the waiter/hostess seemed to take forever to take our order. Also, our order showed up at our table before we even got any water… that’s usually a bad sign of exceptionally poor service. I would rather go to Duy’s on Lamar a hundred times before coming back here again.

I figured it was going to be busy when we stopped in for dinner Saturday night, but I had no idea it would be such a mess. When we arrived there were no open tables, so I stood by the«please wait to be seated» sign… This was our first visit here so I was unfamiliar with the whole ‘sign in’ thing, quickly people started pouring in through the door behind us and 10 people and 15 mins later not a single person had acknowledged us yet. It was awkward and crammed. When we did finally get a table I felt empathetic for the gentleman who was running around taking orders, he was very nice. But when we did finally order my bf’s meal arrived 10 minutes before mine did, he stopped eating it at some point so he wouldn’t finish his before mine finally arrived. I ordered the seafood phở, it was alright, pretty light and mild tasting. I felt like something was missing but I couldn’t put my finger on it. I looked around and realized the other tables had chili paste on them that is supposed to come with the phở, I never received any(which sucks because I love spicy food and usually dump a bunch of chili paste in my phở). At the point I discovered this I was already mostly done with my dish so I didn’t bother asking for some. After dealing with the crazy traffic and wait for ‘meh’ phở I think I might try elsewhere. This is super disappointing since this place is close to home and it got such good reviews. *le sigh*

Phở here is pretty good and definitely one of the better places I have visited. The only unfortunate thing is that they either need to hire more servers or really divide up roles so everyone understands what role they are supposed to be. You know there’s a problem with service when there are four tables open, yet there are lots of customers waiting in line to be seated. It took so long for someone to come and give us water and order our food. I ordered the steak & meatballs phở, which is what I usually order, and I would say it’s on the better side of phở that I have had. The broth was not too salty and the quanitty was enough if not a little too much for me. This place doesn’t have two sizes of phở like most places. There is a nice check-in offer for a free spring roll or egg roll. I would give this place four stars for food and two stars for service.

Came with a friend on a gloomy day for lunch and the place was busy but we were able to grab a seat. I had the chicken phở and she had the #3 phở which was recommended by the server. This is some of the better phở I have had and wasn’t too over salted. When you check in you are supposed to get an egg roll which did not happen immediately for us. I noticed the charge on the bill and notified the server that it was free with the check in we showed him, as well as the fact that we never got it. He apologized and said they ran out during the rush. Right as we were leaving he brought one out that had just finished up. It went great with the dipping sauce and wasn’t too crazy. We shared a pot of green tea which was tasty as well. Overall I would say this is a great spot for some Phở and surprisingly decent service compared to any other Vietnamese restaurant I have been to.
