These are by far the best tasting sandwiches I’ve had here in Austin. We got a couple A-wreck’s I like mine simpler but my husband got it with everything including the hot peppers it was really good but super spicy I gave it 4 stars because only thing is missing for me would be guacamole. I got it with the oil and Italian seasoning and that is what kicked it up a notch the best sandwich I’ve had in awhile

Had Potbelly at one of the big offsite gatherings at an info session. Potbelly warms up their sandwiches, yet are still using what appears to be off-the-shelf pre-refrigirated deli meat. The heated turkey tasted absolutely disgusting and not fresh. The vegetarian sandwich didn’t have any avocado nor any olives, and very little cheese, yet it did have a lot of mushrooms within the heated cheese, making the mushrooms next to impossible to remove, as they were thinly sliced and melted within the cheese, eww. Black chocolate chip cookies were pretty good, though, but sandwiches were quite bad and nothing to write home about. There were many leftovers that even the students didn’t really feel like taking back home for later, either.

This is a great sandwich spot if you are looking for something quick on the drag. For less than $ 10 I leave full. I have never had a bad experience at this location. The shop is always clean and staff are always friendly. I think they have wifi too!

It’s the best sandwich place near campus. I really like the meatball sandwich. Because it’s summer time, it closes at 6 p.m. What a pity!

It’s a Potbelly. You can’t go too far wrong. I’m sure it can be busy, but as a grad student I must miss peak busy-ness due to scheduling slightly off the norm. Anything turkey is always great. Protip: the shakes are delicious. Spring for one every so often. It’s worth it.

If you want a quick, cheap sandwich near campus, Potbelly is hard to beat. And it’s certainly better than Subway. If you get the Hooked app, you can often get a free soda($ 1.99) or chips($ 1.50) with your lunchtime sandwich purchase. That’s probably the cheapest meal you can get on The Drag! Plus there’s often live music being played throughout the day. I almost always get an original Wreck(salami, roast beef, turkey, ham, and swiss cheese) on wheat bread and leave quite satisfied. The Mediterranean and Pizza Sandwich are also quite good. On a separate note, Potbelly is one of my favorite places to have food catered from for campus events. They have a simple online ordering system that makes everything dead easy. Just mention in the comments that you’re from UT and bring your tax exempt form. The cashiers are quite quick at handling all that stuff. I would discourage ordering any catered drinks however, since they’re incredibly over-priced. You should just pick something up at 7 – 11 or CVS instead.

Potbelly is a sandwich shop, as the name implies, but I don’t go here for the sandwiches, I go here for the salads. SOGOOD! My go-to is A Wreck Salad, which is like A Wreck Sandwich but on a bed of lettuce — salami, roast beef, turkey, ham, swiss cheese, blue cheese, hard-boiled egg, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I’m pretty sure their salad sizes decreased a little while back but it’s still a pretty good deal at $ 6.87 with tax. I also recommend the Chicken Salad Salad(a bed of lettuce with chicken salad on top, among other things). Also try an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie if you’re not counting calories. Or a shake — it comes with a shortbread cookie on the straw! But a word of advice… they have live music during the day and it’s loud. Very loud. And sometimes terrible. I opted to have my birthday lunch there with coworkers this year and was embarrassed at my dining selection based on the fact that we had to literally shout to hear each other over the person playing guitar and singing poorly. If I could make a suggestion to Potbelly, it would be that their live music be acoustic or a radio as background noise. I purposely get my food and leave so as not to suffer through it during the one break I get a day. :(

Great sandwiches if you’re looking for something fast! I recommend the Italian on wheat with some hot peppers on the side, if you’re into that! Pros: Awesome Italian sandwich! Awesome and friendly employees Lots of options Faster than sit down restaurant Cons: They close at 7pm :( Sometimes slow but it’s just because they can get busy so not a big problem but just something to consider if the line is long.

I always order the Skinny Mushroom Melt with a side of Southwest Chicken or Veggie Soup! Great meal combo and perfect size for a lunch deal!

Wow… what a great sandwich this place makes. Went there with my kids and we all ordered three different sandwiches and we all felt they were the best sandwiches we’ve had in a long time. My kids who are picky eaters even asked if we could go back or if I could look up if there was a Potbelly sandwich store near our home so we could go to this place more often. Fortunately there is one on the north end of town. Not only was the food good, the gentleman who served us was incredibly friendly, took the time to ask exactly how we wanted each sandwich made and he did not throw it together like they do at some places(like subway). Perfect sandwiches, great service, nice atmosphere, great prices… I can’t believe we never heard of this place before. Try the Mediterranean sandwich. The Italian ham was also awesome.

Fast, great quality. Potbelly never goes wrong! I always order the Original Roast Beef with lettuce, hot peppers, onions, and mayo. This is probably one of my favorite sandwiches of all times. The environment is also great, especially when a local singer comes by for a show. If you are visiting this restaurant, make sure to download the UMeTime App. They usually have deals that can get you a free drink or chips. Also, some Potbelly’s have the cholula sauce, so if they do, you should definitely add it on your sandwich.

My favorite place to go to for sandwiches. The price is very reasonable for the quality of food here.

I don’t come here often, but when I do, I’m fairly satisfied with what I get — the Italian, or the Wreck are my go-to sandwiches here, best with the jalapenos and oil. Prices are reasonable, the sandwiches are ample, but this is pretty much your typical chain sandwich shop, on par with Which Wich, both being a couple steps above Subway. I’m not passionate about this place, but unlike other Drag eateries, I might come here on weekends if I’m by campus, because the prices are right and the food, again, is decent enough. No real standouts, nothing I think about in advance or post-lunchtime. I’ll say what brings this down to 3 stars rather than a possible 4 is the ordering process. I know it’s the Drag, I know it gets busy during lunch time, and I expect lines under such conditions, but it seems to bottleneck in ways that other sandwich shops don’t. I know the employees are doing their best to serve as many people as quickly as possible, and they do a good job, so this isn’t a knock on them. I just know, during regular sessions at UT, coming here for lunch will be a daunting task and it’s one of the reasons I don’t come here often. They are often slow to open up a second of the three available registers, but I’m sure that may have more to do with available staffing than lack of foresight. Given the crowds(UT folks mostly), the available seating doesn’t seem to be ample enough. The tall tables and high chairs are also uncomfortable, and I feel like I have to jump and down from them. Small gripes that again don’t take away from the food, but they do take away from the overall experience. Also given the crowds and jockeying for tables and seats, it would be nice to have someone come through a couple times and clean tables between customers. Once or twice in a 30-minute period really isn’t often enough, especially at peak times. Overall — a step or two above Subway in both food and overall experience, but nothing to talk about 30 minutes after lunch.

Long lines during lunch break as students try to get something quick and healthy. However, the workers are fast, entertaining, and friendly enough for you not to notice the wait. Would have gotten the grilled chicken and cheddar but after going on a small«watch-what-you-eat-diet», I tried the skinny T-K-Y. Expected a tiny sandwich, but I got so much more than that! I got pleasant portions of veggies and meat. I was definitely satisfied after the meal and left the place not full and bloated.

I’ve been to this location about five times. It’s convenient and close to work. I originally first heard of Potbelly while I was in Houston. I tried it with a friend of mine who assured me it was delicious. It was. So when they opened up this location on the drag it became a regular stop for me. There is a lot of competition for Potbelly on the drag with Chipotle, Which wich, Pita pit and more nearby, but I feel like if you want a sandwich, this is the place to go. I always order a big Italian with mushrooms toasted. The lines can get a little long around noon because of all of the university traffic and it becomes increasingly difficult to find a seat after noon. Because of the constant turnover of the tables I often find that the tables are kind of sticky and dirty because the staff doesn’t have an opportunity to clean them after every sitting. That is a small little blip on the radar though. Overall the staff are nice. If you are worried about finding a place to sit, take it to go and head across the street. The Union has tons of outside tables. Also they do cater. I don’t know if it is this specific location, but they provided food for one of our University events and we received a ton of positive feedback. Yummy yummy yummy!

Good stuff. I liked the bread and the overall quality of the sandwich. Very tasty too, I wish this place would replace my local quiznos and subway shops. Very friendly staff too, I loved these guys.

This is my favorite Potbelly location, and I love Potbelly to begin with. I even submitted a note on their corporate website. Friendly and fast, always the right order.

Not a nationally renowned sub chain(primarily in the Mid-West and Texas) but very likely the best of all sub chains in America, or at least of the ones I’ve tried. I ordered the Italian which comes with capicola, mortadella, pepperoni, salami, provolone, and a ton of fixin’s in between two halves of a toasted loaf of bread that was lightly crispy and golden on the exterior but warm, soft and moist on the inside. I’m told the bread actually hasn’t finished cooking until they roll it through the oven for you after you’ve ordered which gives the bread it’s great taste and texture. Very good sandwiches at very affordable prices.
