The only pizza place I feel in N. Austin that serves somewhat similar style to NYC and NJ. The charcoal taste on the crust sent me right back home. It also has that perfect chewy bite. I only wish the pie was a bit thinner, crust wise. The sauce is flavorful and the cheese isn’t greasy. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because when I went to pick up my pie, I wasn’t acknowleged by the manager behind the counter, I thought it was quite rude that he didn’t even say«welcome» or even a simple«hello».a waitress came up a few minutes later and did that for him. She got me my pie, and he cashed me out. «Thanks» he said. The pizza left a great taste in my mouth but the attitude of the manager gave me a funny one.

If you think that the only way to get authentic family inspired Italian food is to make a trip to Little Italy in NYC, or your favorite Little Italy, save your money. The Reale family have been doing it right for many years in Austin. My wife and i have been eating Bob’s food for over 30 years in one place or another on 183 and you can count on him to deliver the best. Outstanding flavor and a blend of old world flavoring makes every bite better than the last.

The best Italian food I’ve had in Austin. Hands down. Back in my marathoning days I would go here to carbo load before big runs. I highly recommend this place. Don’t let the strip center deter you!

I coordinated a wedding last weekend and Reale’s catered. Their service was phenomenal. The food was impeccable. Most importantly the family was inspiring. I will only recommend Reale’s. You can not go wrong with them.

This it’s the BEST Italian you can get in Austin. Don’t be put off by the tire shop next door or the strip mall it’s contained in, when you step in this place you will be transformed to Italia! Mr. Reale cruises around and shakes hands with everyone. Try the pizza and a glass of red!

Love this place :) the pasta is amazing, the salad is great, the pizza is a must, my boyfriend loves the pork chop. We took a big group of family here for dinner and everyone got something different and everyone was super happy. We don’t eat out often, but we know we can rely on Reale’s for a good meal if we plan to go out and eat anywhere!

Awesome pace. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the menu is a bit pricey but certainly not unreasonable. The food, atmosphere and«aura» is incredible. I’m old-school, east-coast Italian and there’s NOTHING on the menu that isn’t incredibly delicious. Been here over a dozen times, only once was the service less than superb. This is a great place to bring people whom you’d like to impress.

This is truly a professionally run restaurant. They set the standard high here, from the wait staff to the bartender to the management. Oh yeah, the food is amazing too! It’s a shame a place this good has to be squished into a strip mall that includes a tire place and lower end fast food places. Reale’s just doesn’t belong here. The quality of food and service they offer would be more fit downtown, in Riata woods, or even The Arboretum! Nope, there they are, just off Anderson Mill and 183(which is actually good for me). I usually get their Calzones. The dough quality is just so good(which they use for their pizzas as well). Sometime I’ll wait to order take out when I get there so I can get a drink at their awesome bar, that includes lively and fun bartenders. There is also a TV for the socially introverted who like to drink in public. I would definitely recommend this place as a date night spot, or even if you are looking to mix up your week with excellent Italian food. Try the cannoli. They are just like the one’s you get in Little Italy NY. See you there!

Very filling food! Got the family platter with tortellini, meat lasagna and the ziti. Very delicious, but I’m full. The atmosphere is nice and they have a nice little bar here as well.

Calzone. For me, the Calzone makes or breaks an Italian place. Reale’s has the best in town. Period. Consistently fresh and hot, and cooked to perfection.

One thing about Austin. There are almost no places to get Italian food. It’s weird. We finally found one. Not a new discovery(they have 250 reviews on Unilocal and opened 25 years ago), but it’s new to us because of where it is(almost Cedar Park). But man, it’s good.

My favorite Italian food restaurant in Austin. The pizza is amazing(Canadian bacon, artichoke, & garlic being my favorite), the bread is to die for, and the variety of options is great. I typically eat there ~once a month with a larger group, as well as sporadically with one or two people. It’s a family-owned restaurant that has been in the same location for years, and has low staff turnover. My favorite waitress is an elderly woman who has been there for 18 years, I believe, and I don’t think she’s a relative. The service is hit or miss sometimes, & if you need your check broken out make sure to tell them that up-front. They have live music sometimes, most recently being a Tony Bennett-like performer on Thursday nights(I believe sometimes they have a singer in the bar area, too). You will not be disappointed in the food, & make sure to try the cannoli!

When I was craving a good NY pizza, people told me to go to Reale’s. We tried it one Friday. Ordered the meatball Pizza. It was alright but the sauce was not to my liking. Too sweet, but the crust was good. Decided to give them another chance but not for pizza. This time I had the Veal piccata. Once again it was just okay. The veal wasn’t pounded out enough. Thick veal can be chewy and tough. This was and the seasoning was off. I guess for the price I expected more. It is okay but not great.

I love Italian food and found this place to be absolutely adorable. It’s a bit cramped inside, so better to call and make reservations instead of walking in if you plan to eat here during prime dinner hours. We didn’t follow that advice and had to wait, but it was a brief 10 minutes so not a big deal. You can sit at their bar too which is first come first serve, also being on the smaller side with around ten seats. They have beer, wine, sparkling wine, and cocktails available. I loved the white columns everywhere and the crooning Sinatra background music. It definitely has a family run feel to it, and everyone worked well with each other helping to refill drinks and bring out food. Our waiter Greg was welcoming and prompt, listing the specials to us and then quickly bringing out our drinks and house made garlic breadsticks. They were buttery on the outside, soft inside, warm, and totally delicious. Our side salads came out next(we both ordered Cesar) which were okay, but had way too much dressing. Next time I will ask for it on the side. We heard rave reviews about their pizza so we shared a large one with pepperoni and fresh garlic. It was gigantic leaving us with plenty leftover to take home. It was also phenomenal and totally hit the spot! The crust was perfection, the gooey cheese factor off the charts, and the toppings fresh and nicely cooked. YUM! I can’t wait to come back and possibly try a few of their pasta dishes. If they are anywhere near as good as their pizza then I might just have to move in.

meh. I’d been here years ago and thought it was Reale good. My most recent visit was Reale disappointing though. We got a few pasta dishes to share, most of which were boring, didn’t taste like they used any natural, Reale ingredients. It is nice to have options when you don’t want to go to the usual chain Italian places and nothing we tried was terrible, it just wasn’t great either.

I had the seafood ala diavola and fried mozzarella as an appetizer. The mozzarella was pretty standard and just fine. The shrimp and mussels in the seafood ala diavola were way overcooked, though the scallops were just slightly overcooked. There was a lot of seafood for the price, I thought, but the deal would have been better had the seafood been of higher quality or cooked properly. The«spicy» marinara the menu described was not very spicy at all, so that was a little disappointing, but the sauce was pretty good. The service was achingly slow. We gave ourselves almost 2 hours for dinner before we had to be somewhere at a specific time, and we did not get out of there in 2 hours. Sigh. The service also was very lackluster, not very friendly or warm. We went here because it is a favorite of a friend who used to live nearby, but I won’t be going out of my way to come here again.

This place is a great place to have a nice, leisurely dinner with friends. It’s very popular and busy, so expect to have a drink(or 2) in the bar first. Once you get to your table, you’ll want to order an appetizer or salad for sure, because you just spent 30 – 45 mins extra waiting and the food here does not come terribly quickly(but, you know this going in, you’ve ordered another bottle of wine for the table, and you’re in no rush). I wouldn’t bother with the pasta faguli soup I tried, but the salad, fried mozzarella, and bread were pretty righteous. You’ll also notice that if you’re trying to avoid pasta, there is almost nothing for you. Now, I know, italian restaurant, right? However, a lot of other places will have side dishes for the fish, chicken, pork, beef, etc dishes that are potatoes, rice, even some veggies. Nada here. Everything comes with a side of pasta. I’ve had their pasta, it was great, I just wasn’t in the mood to splurge more that day(already having had wine, fried cheese, and bread). With how busy they were, I certainly didn’t want to create havoc by asking for a completely special order… but I found my salvation in a greek chicken salad. It wasn’t just adequate, it was AMAZING. This place is not for a quick meal. This place isn’t for dieters, really. It’s not the most awesome service(though it’s certainly adequate, just not terribly quick and they don’t, like, fawn over you or anything). This is a good, leisurely, family style, home cooked type heavy hardcore italian feast. If you go in expecting that, it’s totally four stars.

I came here recently for a work lunch, and I say that because I want to establish that there were 9 of us at a table. Service was okay at best. Our waiter was a tad gruff, although he got the job done. Food wise, let’s talk bread sticks. These are basically transportation for large amounts of butter. I mean, butter makes things taste good though so it’s not a problem or anything. But… some of the bread sticks were chewy. Ugh. Whatever, I didn’t want to eat that much bread anyway. Didn’t you hear? Bread makes you fat. Lunch comes with a soup, and I went with the potato and ham soup. A solid choice. I don’t think I’ve ever been blown away by potato soup before, but this was pretty good. My main dish was the seafood diavola, $ 16. This is damn good, and a good size portion. Comes with 2 medium-large scallops, which are a favorite of mine. Also had shrimp and mussels — definitely no shortage of seafood here, and it was all good. The ratio of seafood to pasta was perfect, and the sauce was tasty — there were little pieces of meat, but I don’t remember what kind. Doesn’t matter though, tasted good. My coworkers didn’t seem equally impressed with their food though, so YMMV. If you do come here, get the seafood diavola.

Definitely has a «family restaurant» feel, which is fine if you’re in the mood for a noisy, relatively slow service experience.(I’m not.) I recommend the Lemon Drop Martini to help take the edge off. Both the Italian Sausage appetizer and the Zucchini with Olive Oil were pretty yummy.

Last night I told my son to stop by for dinner and that I would make really great fish tacos. That didn’t work out because there was actual cooking involved that I didn’t know about. I would have had to actually cook the fish. Go figure. So I put the fish back in the freezer and called Reale’s for a take-out pizza. This is what dads do. Gave them my name, Guy, like I typically do. And like what they typically do is give me a hard time about my name. Just guy, they say. Yes, just Guy, I say. And after a couple of laughable rounds(all in good fun) they say 15 minutes and it will be ready. I arrive in 14 minutes and they are putting the pizza in the box. The gentleman behind the counter walked to the kitchen in the back and had a one minute wait while they cut it and put it in the box. Perfect timing. Normally, I eat 2 or 3 slices of pizza and I’m done. But not with Reale’s. I eat as much as I can. And in this case, my son ate 3 slices so that left me with 5 slices. Typically this would leave me with enough leftover pizza for lunch the next day. But nope, not this time because I ate the whole thing. «I can’t believe I ate the whole thing» as the old 1970’s Tums commercial goes. But I didn’t need Tums. No need to order extra cheese. The cheese amount is perfect. And I’ll attach a pic of the pizza for you to see for yourself.
