Rising Stars Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Gregerson was fantastic with my 5 year old. He explained everything in detail and the procedure went very well. My daughter was comfortable there. Making appointments was easy. The staff were all very nice. Very clean facility and fun for the kids waiting. It’s nice there’s also an area for parents who didn’t want to be around the video games and TV. Would definitely recommend this place!

I’m pretty confused at the negative reviews on here. I actually created a profile just so I could post our experience here. I’ve been bringing my daughter here for a couple years, and we’ve seen both Dr Thomas and Dr Gregerson. They also have a new Dr who has just joined the staff, Dr Kim.
My daughter was nervous at first, as it was a totally new experience, but the staff was great with her and went slow. They demonstrated the «spinny toothbrush, and the water, and mr thirsty.» She was pretty hesitant, but did good!
Since she’s still young, we’ve been in a movie room for all our visits, but she was asking to sit with the big kids in the open area, last month when we were there. I’ve seen the headrest in the photo that someone else posted, but I don’t feel like it reflects on the rest of the office. Everything I’ve seen is clean and well-​organized.
There have been a couple times we’ve been there, that it’s been busy, and we’ve had to wait, but the staff and Dr have always answered all my questions and taken their time with us. They’ll be taking my daughter’s first X-​rays at our next visit, and showed her the chair and camera, so she knows what to expect.
I’m so glad that I’ve found this office. Hopefully, my review will make others think twice after reading the negative ones.

So, I’m on the market looking for another ped dentist. 7 yr old son had to get teeth pulled and they used oral narcotic that didn’t work. He was quite lucid when they pulled 4 baby teeth. Traumatizing experience for me and son since I had to help hold him down.
I don’t think it’s a bad place but I think I want a dentist that does general anesthesia since he will need more teeth pulled — he has too many teeth for little mouth.

Since writing the first review and updating, I have now heard from Dr. Thomas yet again (two calls two days in a row). The second time she asked if I would remove her name and asked why I did not let the office know of the issues of the chair, etc. I told her I would pray about it but she was the person who we saw and that is what we felt at the moment.
Her laundry list of items does not all need to be done as we have since found out.
I also told her we are patients not auditors of their facility and to us the ripped chair made us question how clean the rest of the facility was.
The whole patient privacy with open bays seemed mute at this point.
I had to tell her I was ending the call and while she did not feel she trashed our former dentist I did at that time.
The second call turned this messy situation that we were moving on from into a continued nightmare. I have called both this facility and the referring one.
I truly hope this place can pull it together.

My 3 kids see Dr. Gregerson. I am surprised by some of the negative reviews we have never waited for our appointment time and to my experience the office runs very efficiently and always on time. This dentist was recommended to me by my child’s ENT.
The office is easy to get to and easy parking.
I decided to update my review to 5 stars. My son had to get six teeth pulled as part of his early orthodontic plan. He had never had laughing gas or been numb and it was a scary experience for him. The staff was kind patient and did an outstanding job taking care of him during an afternoon that was otherwise very unpleasant. I had to wait in the reception room with my toddler and other daughter for an hour and a half and the staff was very kind and patient with my fussy cranky baby. Everyone who works here deserves five stars.

Excellent staff. This was my 4yr old’s first ever dental appointment. They made sure she was comfortable with all of the equipment and explained everything to her so she knew what was going on the entire time. Our visit was done in one of their ‘movie rooms’ where we could pick from a selection of DVDs. The TV is mounted facing the floor so she could watch it while her teeth were being cleaned.
Dr. Aurora saw us and did an excellent job explaining to me how to help take care of little teeth. My daughter had such a great time!

We have been with Dr. Freeze for 7+ years now. She is wonderful with the kids. I have one child that is a tough patient. They have always gone out of their way to make him feel comfortable and secure with any dental procedure he’s had. My two younger kids actually love to go to the dentist. I’m thrilled it’s not scary for them!
The office staff has been great to work with. We had a difficult insurance plan for a while and the billing specialist was great! If I ever had an insurance problem she got to the bottom of it for me.

They gave my daughter conscious sedation then we waited over 2 hours in waiting room. They then rushed us after she was sleeping for over a hour and a half where they could have been fixing the tooth. If you care for you children do not come here. I will never go back to this establishment.

I adore this practice! Everyone is so friendly, they file my insurance claims with no problems and they give me options for preventive maintenance and cost estimates for said work. I recommend them every chance I get!

The staff is incredibly nice. Their warmth makes my son feel relaxed. They offer television, prizes and kid-​friendly conversation. My son actually asked them to continue brushing his teeth with the rotating tool. Why 4 stars? The wait. We did wait 20 minutes in the lobby then 20 minutes in the chair. I’ll still take my son there. The service is too good to pass up.

Everything in this office is amazing! The office itself, the dental equipment, the dentist and staff. My kids love Dr. Gregerson.

Overall, my experience at Rising Stars Pediatric Dentistry went pretty well. My 4 year old daughter saw Dr. Shiny Thomas. All of the staff were friendly and worked well with my daughter to get her X-​rays done. They also have a really nice waiting room with a flat screen TV and video games for the kids to play while they wait. Our waiting time was also not too long, maybe about 15 minutes.
The reason for my low rating however, has to do with my belief that this business is just after money and do not really care for their patients. I believe that finding a doctor and dentist that actually care for your health and look out for your best interests are extremely important. My daughter was found to have SEVERAL cavities. We were told that the best option would be to put her under general anesthesia so all the work could be completed at one time. I objected to having my daughter being put to sleep for many reasons, one of which I feel it is unnecessary since my daughter does pretty well in the dentist chair and she’s old enough where I can explain things to her and she does her best to listen to me. Dr. Thomas told me the other option would be to use an oral sedation. It still sounded extreme to me, but I knew my daughter needed a lot of work. After talking to billing, I was told that the total cost of all the work needed would come out to be around $ 6,000.
I’ve since taken my daughter to another dentist in California who was willing to do some of the work without even a local anesthesia! They did such an awesome job and my daughter was so calm and relaxed during the whole procedure that she took a nap herself. They will do the rest of her cavities with a local anesthesia only, no sedation necessary! My daughter loves going to the dentist and being healthy. I am so grateful to have found a dentist who will work with my daughter and the best part is that it’s costing me $ 0 — the dentist is so awesome that she doesn’t take out of pocket payments; what the insurance covers is enough. That’s what I call a dentist that really cares.
***UPDATE: Nancy from Rising Stars has claimed that my $ 6K bill is false and that they have no record of such a treatment plan; however, I have all the paperwork from Rising Stars to prove my claim. The $ 6K bill includes all the costs for laughing gas, sedation, crowns, fillings, etc.
In any case, the biggest problem I felt was their unwillingness to work with my child in a way that I felt comfortable. Like I said, I’ve since taken my daughter to another dentist; laughing gas was unnecessary and not used. Same with sedation. Rising Stars would have forced us to use it; I feel it’s just for them to make extra money. ****

Rising Stars Pediatric was incredible when Dr. Pamela Singletary was there. Now that she left to start her own practice, I think NOT!!! I walked in on June 26^th to personally request my two daughter’s medical records to be transferred over to Dr. Singletary’s new office, Texas Tooth Fairies. My records were STILL not there on July 12^th. When I called Rising Stars Pediatric Dentistry I was informed that MY children’s records were had NOT been transferred and that the Rising Stars Pediatric office had 30 days BEFORE THEY HAD to transfer the records.
Dr. Singletary is WONDERFUL! I followed her from another practice and there was no problem. Obviously, the doctor in charge of the practice is NOT professional and is more than willing to hold my daughters’ medical records as revenge.

This place is very welcoming to kids and parents alike. Both doctors we have seen, most currently Dr Gregerson, have been really focused on good child oriented dentistry while giving great communication to us! It can be scary for both parent and child and they make it so comfortable that my son actually said «yay, we get to go to the dentist tomorrow!». Now that’s insane!

We took our son here for his first checkup and they did nothing to make him feel comfortable. We sat in the back corner exam room for an hour and a half while the dentist and a tech talked just outside about the cruise she was going on. When they finally remembered us it was 5:30 and they were in a hurry. She took no time to establish a rapport and just told our 3 year old to open his mouth. When he wouldn’t she said, «you’re going to have to hold him down and pin his arms.» Really?!? I will never go back to this establishment and will warn anyone who will listen that the staff and dentists are not child friendly.

I have no clue why my review was filtered, but if you have taken the time to read this you should know the doctors weren’t my issue in this office. The staff was my issue. To explain the comment of my time was not seen as valuable as theirs – I drove in 30 minutes to get to my appt. on time and was told their computer system was down and they would not be seeing either of my kids I pulled out of school! I asked why they couldn’t at least call and they said the computers were down. I have to believe that they should have a better system than that. I gave the office a 2^nd chance and returned only to wait for near an hour not to be seen. My kids were hungry, so I asked the receptionist how much longer? She told me another hour. I responded with we will go next door then and get my kids something to eat. She said if you leave you will lose your spot if we are ready for you. I decided to take my chances seeing as how she told me it would be an hour. I returned 30 minutes later and the receptionist said sorry you missed your appt. She didn’t even attempt to call my cell. I was livid. I had waited and drove I can’t tell you how long for 2 separate appointments. They didn’t even care about me and what I had going on. It was all about when they could get around to seeing my kids. I let the office manager know that 2 times in a row this had happened and being treated this way was unacceptable. She said both events were out of their control. I don’t believe that for a second. They didn’t care to resolve the issues! Poor management is what I have to say.

DO NOT use this dentist office! Terrible experience and will not accept responsibility for actions caused to my son.

We have been with Dr. Singletary through this and her previous practice. We have not had a bad experience. ever through over 4 years old regular check-​ups.
Most recently my eight year old pulled four baby teeth, and the service was stellar. The procedure took a while (through all the meds, novacaine etc) and not once were I as a parent let down.
These guys are friendly and professional through and through. Two thumbs up.

Wow, this place almost makes me want to go to the dentist! I involuntarily volunteered to take my youngest daughter (age 7) here this morning. We were early, but played some Lego Star Wars and filled out paperwork until time. They were prompt, and man do they have a staff. I’m pretty sure at least 4 people helped us through the appointment, not including the paperwork folks. They X-​rayed her, showed me what was going on, made suggestions, cleaned her teeth, reapplied the sealants that somehow missing from last time and had us back out in about an hour even. She got sunglasses to help with the dentist’s light and was watching Spongebob during the sealants. She was calm and collected throughout while a whole team worked on her. I’ve never been to a dentist that ran so smoothly and seemed to be so well staffed. A big thank you to Dr. Freeze and your very lovely team of assistants. I wish you the best, and so does Juliana. I really can’t think of anything that could have made this better.

Dr. Singletary’s awesome. We’ve been taking the kids to her since before her move to Steiner Ranch/​Lakeline, and even though she’s half an hour away now, we still go to her.
Her Steiner Ranch office is hard to find and there’s not really a sign so just trust your instincts, pull into the shopping center, and she’s around to the right by the karate center.
The waiting room is very comfortable and has a TV that seems perpetually tuned to Spongebob, as well as a computer to play with in the corner. The exam room is long and has 3 or so dentist chairs in it, so the kids can see what’s going on with their neighbors. They also get to pick a toy out of the vending machine when they’re all done.
If your child needs more extensive work, they have a couple of private rooms with a flatscreen TV that hangs right over the patient’s face and a selection of movies to watch. It’s a great way to keep their minds off of what’s going on in their mouths. Last, but not least, she will also do work in one of the local hospitals if your child needs to be knocked out.
Dr. Singletary is wonderful with kids and explains what’s going on in language they can understand («You have some sugarbugs on your teeth!»). She’s also very easy to talk to as an adult.
The staff is all friendly and helpful. They also offer a discount to people who don’t have dental insurance.
