Sigh. I’m still struggling with what to write. Let me start by saying that I truly absolutely enjoy and like the staff in this office. I actually like Dr. C as well. He did some work on my front teeth that made them look fantastic. However. The first time I went into him he told me I needed Invisalign. I was mortified to hear this because my teeth have always been just about perfect. A dentist’s dream. I came home and couldn’t stay away from the mirror, trying to see how awful my teeth must be. The 2^nd time I went to him, the dental assistant remarked on how white and beautiful my teeth are. I use a home bleaching kit regularly and I am pretty proud of how my teeth look. As she began remarking on how good they look, Dr. C made a low growl, and I looked up at him, and he was scowling at her, shaking his head. Sure enough, when he was done with my procedure, he asked again if I was interested in the Invisalign and also told me that I can put bleach in them like they were a tray. I went home still wanting to believe in him. The third time I went in, I had a regular x-​Ray and exam/​cleaning. He reviewed the X-​Ray and pointed out something nearly invisible. About the size of the point of a straight pin. «That’s the start of a cavity, we might as well get it while it’s tiny. It’ll only cost you $ 20». I went in the next day to get the supposed 30 min process done, and an hour later was still in the chair with a hole the size of TX in my tooth. I was alarmed but had no choice but to let him finish. A week later I get a bill for $ 85. In addition to the $ 20 I already paid! I called the ins company who told me he a) used white filling (more expensive) instead of silver when silver would have been fine on a wisdom tooth and didn’t ask me what I wanted or tell me it would be more expensive AND here’s the clincher. they billed for a double surface. This means I would have had to have had a huge cavity that covered more than one surface of the tooth. This cavity was no bigger than a pin prick. I won’t be going back and am extremely disappointed.

Dr. Cass is fantastic! I had a complete nightmare of a dental experience before seeing him. He was able to fix my problem quickly, painlessly and for way less than that other dentist’s office. The results have lasted years! Since I started seeing Dr. Cass and he fixed me up, I haven’t needed any more major dental work. I referred many new patients to him and all have had great experiences.

Let me tell you, I waited 6 months to review Dr. Cass because I wanted to make sure that I was giving an accurate portrayal of how upsetting my visit was. The office staff was not friendly, no one greeted me when I walked in the door, I just sat there waiting. Finally, I had an exam and Dr. Cass came in and recommended that I start Invisilign (couple of thousand dollars at least) a whole lot of fillings, told me I had hairline fractures in a lot of my teeth and that I had stage two gum disease.
Now, I had just been to a dentist 6 months prior to this and had a deep cleaning, so I was stunned to hear either 1) How far off the other dentist was or 2) how quickly my mouth had deteriorated. I went back for my cleaning and decided to get a second opinion before spending so much money. And also, the hygenist who did my cleaning at Dr. Cass’s office told me my gums were fine but that «Dr. Cass holds his tool at an add angle so it gives funny readings». Of course, Dr. Cass’s office started billing me right away, even though they hadn’t filed the claim with my insurance company as they were supposed to.
Recently, I went to another dentist (Northwest Hills Smiles… thanks Unilocal!) and they confirmed what the first dentist had said, my teeth and gums are perfectly healthy, I am just more prone to tarter build up so they recommended an extra cleaning a year… for a whooping $ 42.
My husband also went to Dr. Cass (the day before my first appointment) and they told him he had a cavity (they couldnt see it, but the machine beeped so it must be there) and he refused to go back even for the cleaning.
Beware! They are there to recommend unnecessary treatments for money. My suspicions have been confirmed and I would warn anyone and everyone to stay away.
