I feel terrible that those of you reading may not be able to get in with Scott, as he often has to turn down clients, because he is seriously terrific.
Call early and try to get in next year. He is calm, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. He got me out of a tax jam when my divorce went awry and I had to figure out — in a big hurry — how to pay money without penalties.
I seriously *heart* this guy! I’ve been with him three years now.

We saw the great reviews on Unilocal,so my husband and I decided to contact Mr. Ragsdale to help us file our 2012 tax return. We usually do our taxes ourselves, but things got a little busy and complicated for us in 2012, so we wanted to go with a CPA this go around.

I came in three times since then just for quick follow-​up questions and he helped me every time. When I really need a CPA for annual taxes I will use him, but he’s such a generous teacher of his own accounting/​tax knowledge that he’ll help you get to do this stuff on your own. I called for advice on a particular issue and Scott was very helpful on the phone. Even though I am not actually his client, he gave me some information about options and basically said that while he’d be happy to help me, my particular issue really didn’t require his services.
It’s always nice to find someone who puts the customer’s interests first.

I’ve been using Scott for over 15 years now. My wife and I own a real estate Brokerage and a Property Management Company. The Brokerage is incorporated, we also own rental properties, and have commission incomes from real estate as well. Way more than I want to mess with each year at tax time. Every year I just bring in my stuff, Scott handles it, and it just makes my life so much easier.
When I was audited both by Texas Workforce Commission and the IRS in the same year back in 2009, Scott handled that too, for no extra charge. It all just went away with no resulting problems or issues.
Each year when I go in to pick up my returns Scott patiently explains everything and answers all my questions in a clear and understandable manner. What’s more, he seems to enjoy his work and explaining the nitty gritty of certain tax scenarios and the pros and cons of different tax avenues one might take under given scenarios.
I’ve never bothered to shop around for prices, but what he charges me seems fair to me, for my situation, and he’s always willing to talk by phone when I have random questions, and never charges for those conversations.
Scott’s a great accountant and a trusted adviser.
