I contacted Lisa several years ago about my box of old VCR tapes which contained precious footage of babies and now-​deceased relatives, as well as a first wedding.. .all the stuff we know we really should protect and transfer to newer technology. After our discussion, it still took me three years to finally get the box to her. Lisa transferred all the old video tapes to DVDs (and she also watched through them and was able to extract, for example, an ultrasound or birthday party video from a bunch of previously taped tv shows. In other words, she made sure she transferred what I wanted, but didn’t waste time and money transferring the things I didn’t want.) When she was done, I had two copies of everything with beautiful cases she had designed using stills from the videos, as well as a menu and soundtracks. I brought them home and spent the next several days watching with my now (grown) kids. And I can stop worrying that I need to «get around to» doing something with my old tapes. I would highly recommend Lisa and Shade Tree Media!

It’s hard to bite the bullet and trust someone with your memories. Shade Tree Media had my project finished in a timely manner and went above and beyond. Not only did they put all of my outdated camcorder tapes on dvds, they also put them on a hard drive. I’m sure i’ll find more tapes and will definitely have Lisa transfer them for me.

You know what I’m talking about: That shoe box full of 8 mm video cassettes of your kid’s 3^rd birthday party, that time when it snowed and everyone freaked out, and the school play where your daughter had a starring role as the tree! Yea, we had that same box, 12 years worth, and we also knew that the longer we waited, the higher the likelihood would be that those tapes would fade and be gone forever.
We trusted Lisa and her team at Shade Tree Media to transfer all that old footage over to a set of professional DVD’s, organized by year and easily found in chapters of all those events we hadn’t seen in years. I had these made for our 20^th wedding anniversary and gave them to my wife Missy. Now my girls are in college and high school and we all get a kick out of watching these snapshots in time when we’re all together.
Seriously, what are you gonna get her for Christmas or your anniversary, another sweater? Don’t be the «another sweater» guy. Call Shade Tree Media, give ‘em the shoe box, watch her open one of the best gifts you could give her, for any occasion. Oh, and you’ll be in a hero in the process. Do it. Seriously, over 22 years of marriage, one of the best gifts I ever got her.

When looking for someone to transfer over old movies and audio tapes to digital recordings — I was anxious that my originals might be harmed. Lisa Holden with Shade Tree Media did a fantastic job for me. I love the products I’ve received and after meeting with her and seeing how detail oriented she is, I felt fine about turning over my treasured family records.
Since that’s first job I just keep finding things for her to do for me — personally and professionally. She’s edited materials for me and she’s made multiple copies of family records for me to give as gifts. As a family law attorney in Austin, I refer my clients to her when they are dividing photos and tapes in a divorce and both parties want to keep the same things.
