Skandinavia is a 44 year old local Austin home furnishings business. We have a dedicated staff of sales people and designers who will help you make your home fantastic. Established in 1971.

Skandinavia, has morphed from being a gallery of fine European furniture, to being the premier place for American Made Leather and fabric sofas, sleepers and recliners in Austin Texas. We focus on products that are produced utilizing the highest level of sustainability possible. The majority of our case goods are made from solid wood or environmentally friendly hand selected wood veneers on top of grade A– EU furniture boards.

Erika O.

Manager

Erika has extensive experience in the home furnishings industry. After earning her degree from Arizona State University she was brought into the furniture business first in Toronto and the later in Michigan. Her years with House of Denmark in Michigan were a great learning opportunity and she achieved great success’ as a sales person and corporate trainer. Personalized customer service is Erika’s specialty and Skandinavia Contemporary Interiors mission.

My husband and I recently purchased the BDI Corridor media storage cabinet from Maria. She was extremely helpful in helping us decide what would look best with the rest of our décor. We also were lucky enough that the item was in stock, and Maria arranged to have it delivered within one week. The delivery people called when they were one half hour out and they arrived on time. They were extremely courteous, careful, and efficient. The item is a wonderful, well-​made, high quality piece and is a fantastic value for the cost. We will definitely return to Skandanavia.

We recently splurged and bought a sleek, sleeper sofa with tufted buttons on the seat cushions. While napping, I noticed a button had come off, as when one sits down, the seat gives enough for the button to get caught, and I voiced my concern to Aaron, our sales associate, with worries that it might happen with continued use, and I’d wished I’d not opted for the button seats). He said they could send someone to come out to repair the button, but since I was concerned over the use in the long run, he would call the manufacture. Aaron and Scandinavia went above and beyond my expectation. He soon called and said the company was offering to exchange the cushions to ones not tufted, since they wanted to make me happy with my purchase. Needless to say, I was blown away by their willingness to make sure I was happy with the product. My replacement cushions arrived within 2 weeks, and I’ve been so happy with the sofa and am enjoying the occasional nap on it! Thank you, Scandinavia, and especially to Aaron. You’ve been just wonderful to work with, and you’ve taken the time to follow up with me. A great representative and testament to the product, but also a testament to the quality of person and representative of the company. Thank you, again for caring about all.

We’ve had two good experiences at Scandinavia and with Aaron. The quality of the furniture they carry is excellent — we’ve purchased BDI entertainment and wall unit pieces as well as leather chairs. Prices are comparable for this level of quality. Delivery and installation has been timely and professional.

Skandinavia sales person Aaron Kenny has become my go-​to person since I moved to Austin five years ago. He has been able to order furniture that I’ve seen in other cities, and I’ve consistently felt that I’ve gotten a good deal. Further, I really like and trust the store manager who once assisted me in the parking lot, and I feel that the other sales people are very good based on my observations. I have also found the delivery team to be consistently careful and conscientious. The floor selection is very good. I feel very fortunate to have found such a quality team in Austin. I haven’t always been so lucky with other furniture stores.

We’ve been shopping here since we bought our house in 2008. Quality furniture and a reasonable price. If there are any questions, Maria (or if she’s busy, Aaron) have always been very knowledgeable and helpful. It’s always fun to stop by and browse the new stock and visit with the staff. Can’t imagine shopping for furniture anywhere else. Keep up the great work!!!

Maria is a really great sales person here and I dealt with her purchasing two chairs and a couch totaling over $ 8000.00. One of the chairs was damaged during shipment so had to be redone. The couch was delivered with flaws so bad they didn’t want to deliver it to me. So, 2 of 3 pieces were not able to be delivered and had to be re done. I spoke to the owner. That conversation did not go well. I would never buy here again. After spending what I spent, I still don’t have furniture that was ordered months ago and won’t have it for another 4 weeks minimum. And for that I got a minimal discount and a shit ton of attitude from the owner.

I went in here randomly checking out some furniture and the staff was very friendly and showing me some pieces that I was interested in and answered my questions in a knowledgeable manner.
They have a good selection and the prices are good. This isn’t cheapo particle board and veneered «wood» Ikea furniture. I had a good experience here and if you are looking for more modern furniture, check this place out.

We have been shopping at Skandinavia off and on for nearly 20 years. Our tastes are what you might call «soft» European contemporary – that is, comfortable but sleek. Our first purchases were two Stressless leather chairs and stools. They are incredibly comfortable, well made and as good as new. Years later we purchased a gorgeous large cherry oval dining table with accompanying black leather and black fabric chairs. Looks great. Get lots of compliments. About 5 years ago we purchased something that is hard to find – a truly attractive, sleek TV/​stereo cabinet with a lovely cherry finish. – large enough to hold our 42″ TV with spare room Finally, after 40 years of marriage we bought a new bedroom set – the Berkley set of solid cherry with walnut trim. Oh, I almost forgot. My office at work was pretty outdated, so I bought a lovely glass and wood with cherry finish coffee table that looks great. Without question, Skandinavia is our favorite furniture store in Austin. For Christmas, I hope to get the Berkley lingerie chest to add to the bedroom.

0 stars! Ordered the Love seat 9-​21-​2011 and they said it would take 4 – 6 weeks… It took 11 weeks and two days that is 5 WEEKS and 2 days (LATE) over the stated time. Then the love seat cushions lean toward the floor, where you have to plant your feet firmly, just to sit there for the price I paid.($ 3,964.12) what a piece of junk. And I was really nice to them about being so late… they did not even follow up to see if the love seat was ok, tolerable or even usable because they knew what a piece of junk it is! O Stars

Kind of a small furniture store. They have good quality, though, which can be hard to find.
Staff was friendly and let me wander testing all the couches out. Nothing stood out to me and I didn’t find the modern look I wanted.
Worth a check if you are shopping around for furniture. The brands are good and they have lots of ergonomic chairs and couches, which was what I was looking for.

I was really expecting more out of this place. I was shopping for a new recliner, and evidently the $ 99 piece of trash I bought at Garden Ridge Pottery was a bit more special than I gave it credit.
That said, the folks here were friendly and after going two other locations, they had some pretty good prices. Next time I’m ready to drop $ 1K+ on some furniture, I’ll be back.

What a great store, I went over to Skandinavia this weekend on a search for a desk. Aaron the sales associate was the best, he was patient and knowledgeable. I have a pretty well rounded furniture background and my partner is new to this whole furniture thing so I usually check out the quality/​price, and let her find the cool design, and silly bells and whistles. Aaron did a fantastic job of showing us every thing that came to mind that fit both of our needs. Affordable — Functional — Stylish– and of course — IN STOCK!
The selection and cleanliness of the store was outstanding. They definitely have some of the best prices for Natuzzi modern upholstery in town.

I love this place! They have a collection of beautiful furniture and accessories that scream out quality. Their leather is amazing. Their bedrooms and dining rooms are to die for. I was inspired the minute I walked in… stunning!
The salespeople were helpful and always willing to answer questions. The salesperson also pointed out more details about the furniture that I didn’t know about, which was really cool. I liked learning about the construction of the bedroom I was looking at. Beautiful and well made! :)
I bought my living and family room here. Now on to the bedroom ~ I already have it picked out.

Seems pretty much limited to slightly outdated European office furniture.
I wandered for about 5 minutes, but wasn’t inspired by anything.
Some decent bookcases, but you’d do better for cheaper at ikea.
