Smith Donovan MD

I think Dr. Smith is a great doctor. I have been to her a few times now and plan to keep her as my regular physician. I go in twice a year for check ups because of the prescription I’m on, and when I’m there I figure I should get the most bang for my buck so I go into everything that could possibly be an issue. She’s never had a problem for instance, looking a mole that I just remembered I had or even my knee that’s been acting funny. In the past I’ve had doctors that would make me schedule another appointment to look at my knee and do an x-​ray if I’m there for medication related checkup. And before I had insurance, which was a recent development for me, she would always make sure not to run unnecessary expensive tests if it could be avoided. I appreciate that she thinks about those things and gives me an honest opinion on what I actually need, she hasn’t steered me wrong yet. From my experience she is thoughtful, patient, and direct which are all qualities I value in a doctor! I would definitely recommend her to a friend!

I usually go to Dr. Weidman and I LOVE HIM… however i was unable to see him bc he was booked and had to visit with Dr. Smith. I tore my ACL but was not aware of my actual diagnose till after I had an MRI. When I went in to see Dr. Smith I overheard her mention that she had a «luncheon» that day and was anxious to get there… however i did not think much of it… UNTIL i went into the room to be examined… she was very fast and not very professional. She quickly pulled on my leg and vaguely took a look at what could be the issue and said «oh its nothing major» i asked her if she could schedule me an MRI and she «i guess if you want to i can but you dont really need it» HA! GOOD THING I DID make her do it. She saw me for about 2 min and then was gone. i guess that luncheon was pretty important.
After MRI. I received a call from her «assistant» who proceeded to tell me that i do have a complete tear in my ACL. I have NEVER gone through something like this and had a lot of questions, which her «assistant» was not able to answer for me. So i proceed to ask if i could actually speak with the Dr. Smith. Dr. Smith did get on the phone sounding very annoyed. She proceed with «This is Dr. Smith» (rudely) and i had to reintroduce myself which she cut me off and said «OK. It is an ACL tear what more do you need to know?» WOW i was shocked. I answered back with I would like to speak to my DOCTOR Dr. Weidman who would NEVER talk to me this way. She then changed her tone and explained to me in more detail the answers to my questions.
Needless to say Dr. Weidman called me back and calmed my nerves. It sucks that i have to even write this review but I do NOT recommend Dr. Smith to anyone. She was a horrible experience. If you can any other doctor at that clinic is GREAT! i love that clinic and everyone is very helpful and polite besides Dr. Smith.
