Shared some spicy and flavorful Bahn Mi tots with Kim chee and two donuts. The Brunch donut had some thick and chewy good bacon on it. I was amused by the cocoa crispies on the Black & White donut so I ordered it and I wasn’t disappointed. I need to go back and try a sandwich.

I’ve been to Snarky’s several times and it is always a bombtastic awesome sandwich. The jerk pork is soooo friggin good. It’s loaded with flavor and has a nice strong kick. I wouldn’t recommend getting it unless you like spicy stuff. The bread he uses is always soft and chewy.
I have also tried the philly cheese steak which was a pleasant surprise. It was loaded with steak, peppers and oh so much cheese. Snarky’s is not too far off from Way South Philly, which I’m afraid to say is rather hard to do. I wish the NATY got more steady business– more quality places like Snarky’s would go a long way to ensure that.

Still love this place. 2^nd time back, got the Pig in a Dress or something along that line – with peach habanero jelly. OMG! Super yummy. And I got the slaw again. Although, all of my co workers got tots, so I think next time I’ll have to go the tot route.
The guys in the truck – again – super nice. They saw I had a «to-​go» order and they actually came out to my table while i was eating to tell me they had time to do it if I wanted them to make it then. I swear – how nice is that!!!
Still haven’t had a donut – but I’m not a donut fan, so… maybe one day. :) Try this place out… it is super yummy.

After having been introduced to The North Austin Trailer Yard (colloquially known as «The Naty»), via My Big Fat Greek Gyros, I anxiously awaited the day I could return and visit one of the other food carts available, specifically Snarkys Moo Bawk Oink.
At first I thought their name was just a random string of funny sounding farm animal sounds. It wasn’t until I had read the menu that I realized they represented the different proteins used in their slow roasted sandwiches. I wasn’t running on a full charge that day. Sorry.
I took a moment to scan the menu. Well, there was the «Snarky Cheesesteak», and even though I’m a fan of all things snarky, I have never jumped on the cheesesteak bandwagon. There was the «Banh Mi» (with SnarkAsian sauce) and the «Cubano» (with a Cuban marinade), and while both sounded wonderful, I still hadn’t found the right one. I skipped «‘Pig in a Prom Dress», mostly because it reminded me too much of that awful Honey Boo Boo and her mother.
At last, I settled on «The Jerk» with pulled chicken and a 13-​spice Caribbean rub, sauteed pineapple, and jalapeño coleslaw. Should I add guacamole? You bet.
In all honesty, the guy taking my order could have been a little more friendly. Something about him wordlessly arching his eyebrow gave me the impression he was thinking ‘You gonna order or what? I don’t have all day here.” I pick up on non-​verbal communication very easily, and I don’t think he said more than two words to me. I didn’t necessarily expect the dramatic (literal) song and dance I get from Emmanuel over at the gyro stand, but I thought food cart guys were supposed to be cool, like my mustachioed friend over at Dock and Roll. Whatever. Maybe he was having a bad day. But as a note for the future, let’s make sure the only «jerk» around this food cart is the sandwich.
The sandwich itself was simple but amazing. An epic clash of flavors ensued between spicy tender, succulent chicken and the creamy, cool avocado. The hotness of the jalapeño slaw blended with the sweetness of the pineapple. All I needed was a sparkling Caribbean beach to match the flavorful Caribbean rub, and all would have been perfect.
Do I recommend Snarkys Moo Bawk Oink?: Yes. Do I recommend trying to say Snarkys Moo Bawk Oink five times fast?: Yes. Will I return?: Why not?

We enjoyed a bottle of wine on a lovely night with a big ass sandwich and some tunes drifting on the proverbial wind. A damn good weeknight date with one of my favorite people

All right, this is the first time I’ve ever written an update for a place.
The other day, my husband and I went to the Naty in hopes of trying the Big Fat Greek Gyros truck… however, it had been raining, and that truck was closed. We were slightly disappointed, but decided to hit up some of the other food trailers. Hubby decided on Snarky’s, and I went with Johnny T’s.
Hubs ordered the «Pig in a Prom Dress» sandwich and loaded tater tots. The Pig in a Prom Dress sandwich was new to the menu (or at least it wasn’t on the menu when I was there last month.) I took a bite of his sandwich… and moaned in a totally inappropriate way. It was amazingly delicious. Lots of pork/​bacon, delicious roll, and the habanero jelly on top was fantastic. Fabulous sandwich, guys! I’m coming back and getting that sandwich for myself!

Its nice to have a food truck/​trailer park up north. The location is nice as there is ample parking since the shopping complex is not all that happening. And the lot itself is impressive as it has plenty of tables, shade, misters, and a stage.
Snarky’s had the most interesting menu that day so I decided to try one of their sandwiches. Lots of different options but I decided to try a Pig in a Prom dress. It was an infusion of pig with pulled pork, bacon, ham, and sauteed onions. The habanero peach jelly was a nice touch and gave it a very different flavor. The small bagette also helped give the place a higher rating as it was crispy on the outside and soft inside. Not the biggest portion but enough for lunch. I also added a side of tator tots to help. I passed on the smothered option and just took them plain with ketchup — tasted like regular tots.
Service was great and offered suggestions and explanations of all the choices. Drinks were offered in a cooler in front of the truck, just sodas and water.
I will definitely try to make it back there to try some of the other options — the Banh Mi and Cubano sounded like they have some goodness. Definitely recommended to food truck/​trailer lovers especially those on the north side of town.

Great location, better than average food truck food and fun surroundings. The new food truck/​trailer park at Anderson and 183 has a bunch of places, but I showed up at 11a for an early lunch and this place was the most open. Everyone I was with (people from work) wound up eating here and nobody was disappointed.
The smothered and covered tater tots were a hit all around. I mean, how can you go wrong with spicy, cheese and bacon covering tater tots? It’s delicious. I got the chicken bahn mi extra spicy and the roast chicken was amazing, the sauce was delicious and the roll it was on was crusty and firm. Getting the bread right was the biggest surprise since most food trucks that I’ve been to seem to choose that corner to cut. Instead, this was a great, crusty, durable hoagie-​style roll.
The environment was also great. There’s plenty of picnic tables under one of those tarps that’s perforated to let most of the light through, but still keep you cool and had a mister going which meant even though it was hot in the sun, it was exceedingly pleasant to sit and eat. They had some cool artsy metal dinosaurs set up in the middle of the little parking lot and even a stage up near the picnic tables where they say they have live music on the weekends.
You had better bet that I’ll be back.

I’ve been here twice so far and both times were really good. The first time was for one of the gourmet donuts on a late Sunday morning. I decided to try The Brunch Donut. After all, it was brunch time. The Brunch Donut is a square donut with maple syrup, whipped peanut butter, and crispy bacon sprinkled on top. I believe they make the donuts there. The flavors were very good. The donut was a little on the heavy/​dense side, but I don’t think a lighter donut would have held up too well with all that maple syrup, whipped peanut butter, and bacon goodness on top. It was definitely a full meal in one donut.
The second time I ate here was for lunch the other day. I ordered the Pig in a Prom Dress sandwich with a side of tots. The sandwich and tots were so good I ate every bite. The sandwich has slow roasted pork, crispy bacon, and sautéed onion with jack cheese and habanero peach jelly on a baguette roll. It was just the right amount of meat to bread ratio. The habanero peach jelly has just the right amount of sweet kick to it without overpowering the pork flavor. The tots were also a pleasant surprise. They had really good seasoning and weren’t in the least bit greasy. I also enjoyed they had their drinks in a big ice chest in front of their bus so when you are ready for your drink, you can dig through that ice and get one. They also had a nice covered area and misters.
We will definitely be back here to Snarky’s. I want to try one of their other sandwiches. It’s going to be hard though because that damn Pig in a Prom Dress will probably be whispering in my ear, trying to distract me from the others.

Let me just say… I needed a moment alone with the pork cheesesteak sandwich and am eagerly awaiting my chance to fill up on one of their fancy donuts (hello, rice krispie treats on top?!)
I’m also so super happy that there is something in this neck of the woods that showcases how fun North Austin can be!
The owners of Snarky’s are also the ones who had the idea to start the North Austin Trailer Yard, aka NATY. What better to do with that lonely olé slab where the burnt down buffet restaurant was? Pull up some trailers and put a cute food court in! Obviously!
There’s a nice lil play area for kids, live music on Fridays, and now a new handmade & vintage market on Friday & Saturdays!

A little expensive for the small portions. I had a «The Jerk» with chicken and it was pretty tasty. This place is conveniently located near my house so I can just walk here. I am glad that the guys at Snarkt’s decided to open this place in North Austin because there is a drought for this type of scene up here. Mayb next time I’ll have a pickle or side to complete the meal.
No choice of bread (wheat being the best) and lack of sides seems to be their downfall; If they can mend this flaw then I will be more of a fan.

I had the Snarky Cheesesteak– without jalapeños, and coleslaw. Absolutely delicious! The bread was fresh, meat was great– not greasy or dried out and seasoned well, onions were sautéed just right– not raw or overcooked and the Snarky sauce was full of flavor and just the right amount as to not drown the meat and soak through the bread. The service was great– the guys are hilarious! I’m definitely a fan and will be back!

I am definitely a fan. The slow cooked meats are exceptionally tender and tasty.
I like the Philly quite a bit. I can agree with previous posts that they do sometimes lay the sauce on a little thick. I like the sauce though, so it’s cool with me.
The Jerk sammy was good as well, but their «Jerk Seasonings» seem to be Crushed Red Pepper… which isn’t very Jamaican.
All-​in-​all Snarky’s serves up some good food. They guys running the truck are friendly enough and they are speedy with their service. There’s isn’t much else to be said. It’s yummy, go try it.

I had Snarkys during the Naty’s (North Austin Trailer Yard) grand opening. Their «written» method of ordering:

We ordered a banh mi and a cheese steak. The music was so loud that I had to repeat my order a few times and was never asked how I wanted it. I was disappointed when our name was called and picked up the order. Both the banh mi and the cheese steak had chicken in place of what I assumed would be pork and beef. I wanted Moo and Oink but got Bawk. Perhaps if you don’t follow through with Step 2 they assume you want chicken? The banh mi was drenched in their spicy moo sauce which left no chance of tasting the other ingredients. In the end the sandwich was filling and I did like the flavor of the sauce but would like it in much smaller doses.
I would come back to Snarkys and try another sandwich (minus the sauce) to enjoy the trailer park experience. But you will more likely find me at Tam’s or Baguette House which is a few dollars cheaper per sandwich and the quality never disappoints.

1. What Amy said. My veggie Bahn Mi had half as much «Snark Asian Sauce» than Amy’s did, but it was still way too much and overpowered everything. Either tell them to go easy on it, get it on the side, or get your Bahn Mi at a Viet place.
2. I did enjoy their cole slaw side. If you’re vegan, it appears to be mayo-​based.
3. I didn’t understand the «Krack Donut» menu. I assume they’re being sold as part of Snarky’s. Incidentally, I think using drug references as a cute marketing ploy is lame.
4. The credit card swiper they attach to a cell and have you sign is cool. Why isn’t every trailer doing Square? You might need your credit card, the sandwiches here appear to be just a tad on the pricey side for what you get. Maybe the trick with Snarky’s is to stick with their meat stuff. I’ll take your word on how good it is.

Sorry, not a fan. If you’re doing sandwiches, you really have to create something impressive.
I only had one sandwich, the Jerk Chicken, and just based on that I would rate this place a 1 star. But I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt that other sandwiches here are better. Also, I went during The NATY (North Austin Trailer Yard) Grand Opening, so I expect they had been serving lots of people all day and the quality had just deteriorated hours later.
Baguette: tough, not crispy, a bit stale-​ish.
Chicken: slim pickins, lack of flavor, all dark meat.
Pineapple slaw: where? There were a few chunks of pineapple, jalapeño and onion.
Biggest Downfall: Absolutely drenched in a flavorless mayo. Literally, they spread it on the bun, added little ingredients and then covered it all again with mayo. Seemed like they were trying to over-​compensate for the lack of chicken and slaw.
Maybe I’ll go back and try the pork bahn mi because it looked better from afar, but that’s a big maybe.

I don’t want to give this guy a bad review because he was so incredibly nice and friendly.
And the one bite of Jerk Chicken Sammich I had left me wanting more.
Especially since I couldn’t eat more than than, because I realized it was full of pork.
If I ate pork, this wouldn’t be an issue, or if it was one of the two sammiches I ordered…
But they’re both pork, and I don’t have the energy to drive 5 minutes down the road to have him fix it, like I’m sure he happily would. Because I’m lazy, apparently.
I’ll be back to try again, because I like their selections, and I like the look of this new food court area in my hood. At least my lady now has dinner and tomorrow’s lunch ready. Just… next time, gimme chicken.

It’s great to get some hip food trailer love on the north side of town! Snarky’s brings a solid entry with its simple but eclectic menu of sandwiches.
The Chicken Banh Mi is a decadent interpretation stuffed fat with delicious roast chicken. «SnarkAsian Sauce» adds rich complement to traditional cucumber, carrot, daikon, jalapeño and cilantro toppings. To be sure, it’s more of a themed showcase for the roast chicken than an authentic Banh Mi sandwich — approach with that expectation and you probably won’t be disappointed.
The Pork Cubano seems a slightly less successful riff on sandwich tradition. Two of us agreed there was a slightly curious note that doesn’t quite evoke the classic Cuban Sandwich flavor profile. That said, there wasn’t a crumb left remaining when we got up to leave.
Service was as sunny as the bright afternoon. The nascent NATY food trailer grounds may be stark, but the funky animal sculptures and hip style of the Snarky’s bus are agreeable signs of good things to come.
