South Congress Massage

Erin was great! A friend and I were in town on vacation and this was def the relaxation that was needed.

I do not like giving negative reviews, so I’ve been hesitant to give a review on this one.
But I was having a rough day and was really looking forward to a massage as my regular therapist was booked I decided to try a new place.
I communicated that it was rough day and that I preferred not to talk and yet was talked to. Even though I would say things like, «I don’t feel like talking about it.» or give a one word answers top get my point across it did not seem to help. If you are massaging someone who basically wants to decompress and get a thorough massage (and not a rub down with a therapy session) then they should get that.
Also, the rooms are not sound proof, so you can hear what is going on in other rooms or the hallway. That made it difficult to relax as well.
And the awkwardness of it all was they asked me how I felt afterwards and I wanted to say, «not much better,» but they were running my card and I was filling in the tip amount — as they hovered and watched — so I just said it was nice. I was already feeling miserable, I didn’t want to perpetuate it.
Obviously not every therapist on this team behaves this way, but I’ll be booking ahead of time with my regular therapist to ensure I don’t go through something like that again.

First of all, know that I am a bodyworker myself, so I have super high standards for therapists.
It takes a lot to impress me.
I’ve seen Paul twice now, and he’s fantastic! He knows far more than just massage, working with my structural issues as well as deep muscle work. I love that he’s not afraid to go after the tight bits like many therapists. I plan to see him every month when I’m in town!

I had to cancel my appointment as I had a meeting, but Negeen was quite nice and waived the $ 35 sub-​24-​hour-​cancellation fee for me as I had booked late the night before. It’s nice to see this kind of thoughtful customer service.

Booked an appointment with Beth, while on vacation, after reading all the reviews. So happy with the massage and the overall vibe of the place. Beth did an amazing job!

What a savior. I had tweaked my back and they squeezed me in. What a blessing. They are very friendly, took fantastic care of me and were reasonably priced.

I was in town on vacation and found South Congress Massage via a google search. I called and was lucky enough to get an appointment that day. Beth was absolutely wonderful. I had booked one hour so that I could see if her massage style was up my alley and extended it within 10 minutes because she was such a pro at what she does. She immediately came across my problem areas and really put some work in to them. I felt absolutely amazing when I left and next time I am in town I will certainly be paying her a visit!

Vida Luna! I’m soo excited about Luna moving to this very wonderful location! This small space has such a comfortable feel to it.
First off I’ve been seeing Luna for a little over a year now and she is my savor. She really understands what your body is asking for. I always leave feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world. I have a lot of back issues due to a hardcore life style and need someone that understands the strange knots aches and pains I somehow acquire. Somehow Luna gets it, and I’m sooo thankful for that!
Last time I saw her she did cupping on me and WOW! If you have never done this you don’t know what your missing out on. It is such a wonderful release.
So in short I love the new space and I love my massage lady! She rocks!

Luna Wood really helped my Sciatica with her amazing hands/​massage! She also
helped with some swelling I had with some lymphatic massage. She really knows her stuff and is a delightful person too. Thanks Luna, I’ll be back real soon!

Beth was amazing ! I left feeling stresss free and received a quality massage with hot stones and healing hands!

Eleanor did some work on a shoulder injury for me and it was really stellar. She is a gifted therapist and I would encourage anyone looking for some massage work to contact her.

Eleanor is an incredible instructor. I took a series of 8 pilates classes with her at the UT Athletics Department and it was a great experience. She has a very intuitive understanding of her students’ bodies and how to make each session work best for them. She can easily locate trouble spots and areas of your body where you need extra attention due to stress or muscle imbalance. After every session with her, I felt like I got a great workout suited just for me and now, my body is much more balanced and strong which helps prevent injuries. Eleanor has such a kind and peaceful spirit and I will definitely see her again for massage therapy or pilates sessions in the future.

Paul Drown is amazing. Was visiting Austin, and fortunately had the chance to get a last minute appointment to seek relief for back pain that was interfering with my vacation. I always tell a massage therapist that he or she does not have to solve all my issues during the appointment. Paul did however in 30 minutes, providing a comprehensive relaxing massage that allowed me to more thoroughly enjoy my time in Austin. I highly recommend Paul! Paul Drown is the best… my lower back was so messed up prior to my visit… I now feel great… as well as quite relaxed. He treats his clients like a doctor treats his patients… and interviewed me prior to my session to ensure that he truly treated my problem areas.

Eleanor Harris is a wonderful, experienced massage therapist who works at South Congress Massage. When I feel stressed out from spending hours at work in front of the computer and my back and my shoulders are tight from tension, a massage from Eleanor is the perfect antidote and makes me feel like a new person. She has a vibrant, upbeat personality, and it’s clear she enjoys her work. She knows a lot about anatomy and where and how to apply the right pressure, and a massage session with her is relaxing and rejuvenating at the same time. Besides being a massage therapist, she is a very talented yoga teacher, and these two skills complement each other. Give yourself a treat and get a massage from Eleanor. She’s the best!

Very nice massage from Negeen who was able to fit me in last minute. Good music playing while i got my knots worked out. Very professional and clean. Highly recommend.
