I absolutely love it here. No one likes going to do the dentist, but I love coming here. From the warm greeting from the front office staff, to being taken back. Absolutely wonderful. You’re seriously treated like family here, and you can tell everyone really likes their job. Kudos to the staff!

One of the best dental experiences I have ever had! From Start to finish, this place is top notch! Warm and welcoming receptionist to the friendly and thorough Dental Assistant, Hygienist and Dentist. Dr. Kyle Walton is one of the best dentists I have encountered in my life, and I have been to a few! They did a thorough examination and talked me through all of issues complete with digital pictures and X-​rays viewed on screen right from the chair! He went over all of my options and we mapped out a game plan on how to proceed. This was only my first visit but I can’t wait to go back! They made me feel like I have been going there for years. I highlty recommend Southpark Meadows Dental Group and Dr. Walton.

I am so excited about finding Dr. Walton and his caring staff! Love this place, hands down. The first impression I get was the front desk, they were dressed for a theme day! (awesome) This is saying a TON because I have always had a conic fear of going to the dentist. SO bad that I almost have an anxiety attack when I sit in the dental chair.
Last thursday evening I chipped a crown (5 years old from a different a dentist that I wasn’t to fond of in the first place). So the next day I booked an appointment with this office for the following reasons: same day porcelain crowns & a 5 star Unilocal review. They squeezed me in and accommodated all of my needs. They not only extended their workday (friday) to help me but took the extra time it took to explain all the work they were doing (other than the crown I needed 2 fillings). Finding a dentist in the Austin area has been an extreme challenge for me. I’m from a small town and was raised on fixed budget so I had ton of silver fillings that need replacement. The usual reaction I get from a Dr. is complete dread. With Dr. Walton it was exact opposite. He enthusiastic, educating, passionate and not to mention hilarious! He made me feel like he was excited to help me! I know I have a long journey ahead, before I’m an adult in braces BUT I know I’m in good hands. Literally. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m excited abut my next visit to the dentist!

Let me start by saying — Nobody likes going to the Dentist. Sitting in a chair, holding your mouth open while someone sticks their fingers and tools into there for an hour or more, is not my idea of fun.
I had to get a cleaning. I’ve been bad about them, so finally decided to put my dental insurance to work for me. I had work done by another dentist and it was not of the highest quality. So I was leery of trying to find another Dentist. I did some research and «settled» on Southpark Meadows Dental Group.
Boy, did I find a gold-​mine!!! The staff — I can’t say enough about the quality of the front desk staff. They impressed me from the very moment I expressed interest in making an appointment. Chelsea and Curtis went above and beyond in making sure my insurance was correct (I couldn’t find my provider information.) and Chelsea called around to find out all the info I should have been able to provide. Now, I had not been here before, and didn’t know either doctor, so Chelsea scheduled me to see Dr. Janelle Johnson.
That was the best thing that could have happened! She is a wonderful Dentist. She’s funny, caring and concerned for her patients dental health.
The first thing she did that impressed me was coming to meet me in the lobby herself. She invited me to her office and we discussed what I was hoping to accomplish with my dental care. That was really nice to know that she was interested in what I was looking for, rather than how to make money off me.
After our meeting, I went to the back where I had x-​rays, and pictures taken of my teeth, jaw and other important things done. The equipment they have is super state-​of-​the-​art! High tech, and extremely modern.
I was then sat into the most comfortable dental couch I’ve ever laid in. They even had a TV with cable so I could watch some TV when there was a pause in the treatment for whatever reason. Very impressive.
The information that Dr. Johnson revealed to me made me question the previous doctor so much more. I found out that I was missing a tooth. I don’t recall ever losing it, but it made her stop and have to recount my teeth to confirm. Why didn’t the previous Doctor find that? Who knows. We went through the rest of the initial consultation with no other strange events.
Long discussions about what my care plan was going to consist of, timeframes, options and asking about any concerns I may have took the rest of the initial visit. I walked away with a great feeling about how good my care was going to be.
2^nd visit was as good as the first. I spent 90% of the time with Lisa as she performed the most thorough cleaning I have ever had. She found spots that I didn’t know existed and afterwards, I felt great. Other than ½ my face being numb GRIN! She made sure that my comfort was foremost and if I needed anything, she was quick to comply.
KUDOS LIsa!!! You are the BEST!
I can’t say enough about them. I know it was only my 2^nd visit, but I feel like I’ve known them for eons. Part of the family.
I HIGHLY recommend that you contact them if you need dental work.

I had my first cleaning after 5+ years today & though I was a bit nervous, it turned out to be a very positive experience. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly & down to earth. They got right down to business but were very patient & took their time with me. As a client care specialist, I look for exceptional customer service & I found it here. A couple of minor mistakes were made during the checkout process, but they are only human & we all have missteps, even the great ones. Overall, I would recommend this dental office & Dr. Johnson to anyone looking for a new dentist.

This dental office and all of its professional staff are amazing! Each staff member I came in contact with was so pleasant and knowledgeable of their job. They were a true team, helping each other out with whatever they could, not because they had to but because they wanted to. I plan on staying with them for a very long time. I was with Dr. Walton for an exam and cleaning today and he was AWESOME! The whole staff was very nice and helpful. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Walton!

This is my second visit with Dr. Walton and the South Park Meadows dentist office, and I have been satisfied with each visit. It’s a busy yet efficiently run office. Very friendly staff, from the front desk to the hygienist to the dentist. I was hesitant the first visit because I hadn’t been to a dentist in several years. But Dr. Walton did a thorough exam and showed me all the areas of concern. And they are very up front about pricing when I needed a few cavities filled. Good experience all around!

I went in to this dentist because it had a great intro deal and because it’s close to my house.
The good — The front desk staff and the x ray tech — so welcoming and warm.
The bad — The dental hygienist was extremely cold, and seemed uncaring. I felt like crap when she was talking to me. She basically said that I need a deep cleaning (350 dollars) where they numb your gums. It hadn’t been that long since I visited a dentist (2 years). I wanted to run after she talked to me. She could use some customer service skills and customer communication skills. She’s a blonde woman with blue eyes.
Then, the dentist, Dr. Johnson, came in and made a face like «eek» when the hygienist was talking about my teeth. Talk about unprofessional. My teeth aren’t even that bad!
Then the front desk gentleman had to discuss payment options for the recommended cleaning and crown. (1250=, 350 for the cleaning and 900 for the crown). I will be looking for a different dentist after this experience, I don’t wand to give my money to a place that treats customers this way.
I want a dentist that’s solution oriented and caring. I didn’t’ find that at this location.

New to the area… so happy I found Dr Janelle Johnson and her team! Checked out their reviews and public info from the state dental board website just to be sure. Very pleased with the professionalism and quality of care I received.

Did quite a bit of research before deciding on a dentist. I worry about two things:
A) The incompetent/​shoddy dentist who finished last in their graduating class at Mail Order Dental School.
B) The overcharging, unethical dentist who took training from the mechanic in National Lampoon’s «Vacation.»
Dr. Johnson is neither.
The entire experience was pleasant, and Dr. Johnson proved very knowledgeable, sharing information I had never known. (Did you know your allergies can induce tooth discomfort? I didn’t either!) She was very cordial, and made sure my teeth got cleaned even though the hygienist had the day off. (She actually did the cleaning herself. So impressed.)
The staff (Leslie, Curtis, and Brent) were also super friendly and helpful.
HERE’S THE BEST PART: They have some sort of tricked out xray viewer that lets you watch Direct TV while you’re waiting for your xrays. So I watched NFL Network sitting in the dental chair. They hand you the remote so you can just watch whatever you want. It’s the Dental Office of the Future here today!
But seriously, great dentist, awesome staff, and up-​to-​date equipment. Really happy to have found an excellent dentist.

This week I received exceptional care from Kyle Walton, DDS and his amazing team. Two crowns, several fillings, all done with ease and expert efficiency. They are beyond reproach in their practice, and are also extremely kind and approachable people. The office was clean, inviting, and accommodations were fantastic. This is the dentist office I plan to take my family now for as long as they are around. Thank you so much, SouthPark Meadows Dental Group! You really are the best!

This is long, I know — but you need to know about what did happen and what could have happened to me here, because it’s pretty serious and speaks to both competency and ethics. Let me start by saying that the front desk person, Leslie, is worth more than whatever they are paying her. The X-​ray person that I had, Angie, was good too. But I was there for the dentist, and that’s where things went very wrong. I saw Dr. Walton, and he’s the only dentist that I saw there since I only went in once. I don’t know if the people posting positive reviews there saw someone else who approaches dentistry differently, but after a second opinion from a dentist I know and trust (who’s pricey and not on my insurance, in case you’re wondering why I didn’t go there first) Dr. Walton’s professionalism is more than questionable.
Let me tell you what to expect in terms of ethics first, based on my experience. In addition to x-​rays, they will take photos of your teeth using a camera that can get up close and personal with them. When the dentist comes in, he will pull up those photos and tell you that every one of the stained grooves that you have in the tops of your teeth (assuming that you’re an adult) is a cavity that must be filled. In my case, there were 14, he said (actually, there were 13 teeth with stained grooves, but I’ll get to that later). If you’re incredulous, as I was, he will tell you that he would tell his family members the very same thing. If you continue to resist agreeing to having teeth that you’re sure are healthy drilled into, he will tell you that there’s no hurry — you can schedule appointments over the next couple of years — they aren’t in danger of turning into root canals or anything (really — I thought these were actual cavities?).
Now, to the competency issue: I had already informed them that I wanted to have my two remaining wisdom teeth — the ones on the top — extracted. He said that he’d do that in the office, no problem, although he didn’t even so much as look at my panoramic x-​ray in my presence, nor give any indication that he’d looked at it in my absence, Then the front desk person came in and presented the estimate for upcoming services — over $ 1500 after insurance. I made an appointment for the next week to have Dr. Walton pull my wisdom teeth, and left.
Since I more than doubted the cavity count that I’d been given, I decided that it would be worth it to pay out of pocket for a second opinion with the dentist that I knew and trusted. Here’s what I found out from that dentist, who carefully checked all the teeth that Dr. Walton had marked as showing decay: One of those teeth already had a filling covering all grooves, and that filling was doing just fine; one of those teeth registered no softening in the groove at all when shot with a laser designed for measuring that softness; all others except two registered with very very minimal softening — far below the level that anyone would call decay or recommend drilling and filling. So my final cavity count? Two. Both of them were shallow, enamel-​level cavities. That’s a helluva lot less than 14, but the story gets even better.
By this point, I had decided that I was just going to pay out of pocket to have those two cavities filled by a trustworthy dentist. Of course it was going to save me a ton of money over having 14 filled at a cheaper price per tooth. As you might imagine, I wasn’t too keen on giving Dr. Walton any money for pulling my wisdom teeth either, and so asked if that could be done at the trusted dentist’s office too. I was told that they could probably do it there, but then she turned and looked at my x-​ray, like any medical professional would before agreeing to do something like that. She was behind me, and called for me to get up and come look, and by the way, this was the very x-​ray that had been taken at Southpark Meadows Dental — so what happened is not a matter of a different x-​ray showing something that the one they took didn’t. My right wisdom tooth not only was larger at the root end than at the tooth end — so therefore anchored into my jaw bone — but that bulbous root appeared to extend up into my sinus cavity (which might explain the headaches that I’ve been getting and that I had noted on my intake forms at Southpark Meadows Dental). The trusted dentist told me that it was not going to be possible to remove that tooth without taking jaw bone with it, and that I was likely going to have an opening between my sinus cavity and my mouth until it healed. She wrote me a referral for an oral surgeon, and strongly advised that I not let anyone who lacks that credential touch that tooth. I am so glad that I went to see her, because otherwise, who knows what kind of a mess Dr. Walton, who as a dentist is certainly not qualified to extract a tooth like that one, would have made of me.

Dr. Johnson’s office and staff is amazing. Very high tech equipment. Dr. Johnson is the best dentist I’ve gone to. She is so incredibly sweet. She had a little time until her next patient and she came and cleaned my teeth! In 34 years I’ve never has a dentist do my cleaning. Was very cool! I will definitely be using her as my dentist from now on.

I’ve been going to SPM Dental Group for about a year now, and it has honestly been the best dental experience ever. Everyone is so nice and accomodating. They really do their best to make you feel as comfortable as can be. The office is extremely clean and Dr. Johnson is the best.

I absolutely HATE going to the dentist, but this is a great place. Dr. Johnson is fantastic and funny, and everyone there was very friendly and helpful. A previous place told me I needed 4 crowns ($$$$), so I came here after a friend recommended Dr. Johnson, and I don’t even need one crown, much less FOUR! I’m a fan!

Best dental experience I’ve had. From the prompt and friendly initial greeting. The service was timely, friendly and top notch. Equipment seems to be state of the art and the facility is very clean and well organized. My options were clearly explained to me. Really awesome to be able to review my xrays, cost estimates and electronically sign forms from my dental chair! There is a clear effort made to provide an exceptional experience. And the best part is it was all covered and didn’t cost me anything!
