LeVan and his team are incredible. They put together a short film and same-​day edit for us that truly captured the moments of the day. They filmed each moment in a way where I didn’t even notice that they were there! They were so under the radar that they helped me feel so comfortable in front of the camera. The way they cut the clips, paired the music, and added voice overs was so creative, intentional, and truly beautiful. I received many complements on the films. I would definitely also add that the same day edit was such a hit– it was played right before our grand exit and was the perfect way to wrap up the night. Can’t say enough about these guys. They are amazing. You won’t regret it!

I did a lot of research before deciding on a vendor for our wedding video. From the moment I first spoke with LeVan from Spinning Leaf, I knew I wanted him and his team to film our special day. His passion for what he does came through in every conversation I had with him… and he became more than just another «vendor». Throughout the process, LeVan was very kind, professional and listened openly to our ideas.
The investment seemed like a lot at first (especially to my fiancé), but the end result was absolutely beautiful, and VERY MUCH worth it (and my fiancé is glad we did!). I’ve watched our film (about 10 minutes) countless times. My mother has as well… and she was actually uncertain at first about investing in a video. However, even she commented that the film did a better job at capturing our Big Day than even the photos.
The biggest differentiator I can see with Spinning Leaf is the value for the QUALITY you get. I was looking for a company that wouldn’t charge an arm and a leg for a full day of filming (we had a morning ceremony and evening reception). And regarding *quality*, it really is striking. Spinning Leaf has this incredible ability to capture all the emotions of the day and produce a film that represents the events perfectly, and from different perspectives. Even the transitions in the music matched impeccably with the transitions in the film’s story. I tear up nearly every time I watch it.
I was a little worried about having a photographer (2 individuals) AND videographer (2 individuals), and how that would all work out. However, it worked better than I would’ve thought, and Spinning Leaf coordinated very well with our photographer.
I was also a little hesitant because I noticed some videos where the bride and groom seemed to have endless activities… and I was wondered if we would have enough variety of footage. However, the way Spinning Leaf produced the film, I couldn’t have imagined anything different… nothing seemed to be missing.

We worked with LeVan and his team for our wedding a few weeks ago (May 8, 2015) and it was such a wonderful experience. Not only was the Same Day Edit incredible, and a super fun surprise for our guests, but having LeVan and his team around was super easy. They directed us enough to make the video look and sound perfect, but were so good about not being intrusive on this important and emotional day.
Our final SDE product really is amazing and its so much fun to watch it with all your guests at the end of the night and surprise them with it. It’s not your standard wedding video — it’s so much more being a collection of moments from the entire day (and for us, the night before — we hired LeVan to cover our welcome dinner where had speeches and such so that footage could be included). We knew the wedding day would go by so fast and once it was over, we’d only have the memories, so we invested in the best ways to capture those memories. I’m so glad we did. Our friends and family have said the SDE basically looks like an incredible movie trailer for our wedding day — who wouldn’t want that?! We can’t wait to get the final longer format video — it takes up to 6 months to get the longer version, but we’re happy to wait bc we know it will blow our socks off. And we have the SDE in the meantime.
If you’re thinking of hiring LeVan, and you have the budget to do it, then stop thinking! Just do it! You’ll be so happy you did.

How do you write a review about someone who captured such an important day? How do you begin to thank someone that you feel you could never thank enough?
LeVan and his crew are amazing. I can not begin to express how much I loved our same day edit. It was the most amazing part of our reception and It blew our guest away. LeVan and his crew take time to capture little details you may not remember because the day goes so fast! I will never forget the way I felt watching our same day edit surrounded by all the people we love. Our family and friends were blown away, and to this day still comment on our same day edit! If you are looking for someone who will capture the memories of your wedding day and compose those memories into a beautiful video (that will make you cry every time you watch it) you’ve got to hire Spinning Leaf!

LeVan and his team did an absolutely stunning job with my husband’s and my wedding video. I highly recommend splurging for a videographer and Spinning Leaf is the company to use! Would also highly suggest purchasing a package with the same-​day edit. LeVan put together a beautiful clip of our wedding day that he showed at the end of the reception. Let me tell you, not a dry eye in the house! It was so amazing to be able to share those moments on film with all of our wedding guests.
We just received our short film, and again… just so wonderful what he was able to put together. He captured everything we felt that day… anticipation, happiness, and the love that surrounded both us and our family/​friends. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to capture our wedding. This is something we’ll cherish for many, many years.

LeVan is just the nicest most pleasant person ever! He was so easy to work with from start to finish. His team was super awesome as well. There are just not enough stars to give them. On the wedding day, they showed up on time and did their thing. They did not get in the way and at times I forgot they were even there. But the same day edit proved they were absolutely working their butts off the entire day. Most of our guests had never seen a same day edit before, so they were completely in awe with how well it was done in that short amount of time.
The other great thing about them is they do not charge by the hour like some other vendors. So we didn’t have to stress over our timeline, and what to do and when to make sure the videographer was there to capture it.
Their pricing is also very reasonable, especially with them being with you the entire day. Communication via email was quick, and all payments were made online which was convenient. Highly recommended!

LeVan was wonderful to work with for our October 2013 wedding in Austin and provided not only a beautiful short film, but also a great value as we also received the full footage of our ceremony, first dance, toasts and cake cutting. Unlike the other 3 videographers we interviewed, he didn’t set a time limit on how long he would be there but said he would be there as long as he needed to in order to get the amount of footage he needed for our short film. As a result, he was there longer than any of our other vendors (apart from the coordinator!). He was very easy to work with in coordinating and communicating prior to the day and totally unobtrusive on the day of, including respecting my desire not to have any footage until I had at least a minimal amount of makeup/​hair done. (I think he was there 15 minutes after we were so he used the time to get great footage of the venue and setup until I was ready for him to join the bridal party!) Even though they had never worked together or met until that day, he also worked very well with our photographer.
Our short film was delivered per the promised schedule and perfectly captured the feeling of our day! So far, no woman has been immune to the power of the film to induce happy tears and I suspect the guys just aren’t admitting it. ;) We decided early on in our wedding planning that we wanted to have a videographer after multiple friends expressed regret at not having more or not having more professional video from their wedding days. On the day of, we were thrilled to know that it was all being captured by someone reliable and professional — especially moments that were a complete surprise to us like when the groomsman from New Zealand performed the Haka in front of the bridal table at the end of their toast. Hiring a videographer is something we would absolutely recommend if you can budget for it and we wholeheartedly recommend LeVan and Spinning Leaf Films!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Spinning Leaf team. At first my husband and I were ambivalent about hiring a videographer to capture our wedding and were leaning towards skipping it all together, but I’m so glad that we did not make that mistake. LeVan was more than willing to work with us from across the country (we live in California) and really brought all our ideas and style to life. The entire team is friendly and approachable and they are completely unobtrusive when it comes to capturing your big day. I never felt for a second like I was on a bad reality show. It was almost like they weren’t even there. The same day edit totally blew us and our 200 guests away and we were equally thrilled with the short film. Spinning leaf goes above and beyond for their clients and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a professional, timeless, artistic, and cinematic documentation of their wedding. I cannot imagine our day documented any better than Spinning Leaf did. From the first time I spoke with LeVan over the phone, he was so nice and professional; and I had a feeling his work would reflect perfectly how special this time for my [now] husband and me. We were so close to going with a so-​so videographer, but my fiancé wanted videos that were of a higher quality and that felt like short films instead of dull home movies. When we saw the Spinning Leaf sample videos we were totally blown away.
From initially meeting with LeVan to receiving the final videos, we were completely pleased. During the wedding the team of videographers was amazingly inconspicuous and yet managed to capture so many wonderful moments. I can’t begin to express how happy we are that we chose Spinning Leaf to capture our wedding day. The quality of the film, the creative perspective and the wonderful service are all reasons why we were completely satisfied with our choice.

There is not enough praise that could ever be given to this talented group of people. I’d been waiting for my wedding day for 18 months (we did a save-​the-​date video back in January with LeVan & Brandon) and our same-​day-​edit played during the reception totally took everyone by surprise. I mean our guests are STILL talking about it weeks later and everyone wants a copy, lol. For something that is only 3 minutes long it sure does make an impact. Their work is absolutely amazing and even though I don’t know these people personally, I am so very proud of them for how far they’ve come in such a short amount of time. They are doing Austin right — that’s for sure :)

I agree with everyone here when they say 5 stars just isn’t enough to describe LeVan, Jason and his crew. I actually found them through my friend, Julia, who had used them for her wedding.
LeVan was extremely easy going, professional and has just a unique talent for capturing the true essence of a couple’s personality. We worked with him to create our ‘Save the Date’ video which turned out much better than I could have ever imagined; and we had a blast filming it! Our ‘Same Day Edit’ brought tears to my eyes! He included the sentimental moments along with the funny moments that represented the entire day. It’s really hard to do that in 4 min or less, but he hit the nail on the head. We even had a blast with them at our after party, which speaks volumes on how close we got to him and Jason throughout the entire process.
LeVan truly takes the time to get to know you. I think what makes him so special is that he really enjoy telling people’s story and you see that through his work.
Definitely check out his work. I promise you, you won’t regret it!

I would give 10 stars if that was possible!!! LeVan is an artist and a really, really nice guy to boot. He is a consummate professional who takes his company and his art seriously. LeVan and his team at Spinning Leaf Films are absolutely the most amazing and professional videographers in this world. My fiancé’ and I first met LeVan to just discuss our wedding and see if we felt like he would offer what we wanted. Needless to say, he offered FAR MORE than what we could have dreamed or even knew was possible. LeVan went above and beyond any expectation I ever had. He met with me multiple times to make sure our day was planned perfectly. We had so much going on during our ceremony/​reception and I was impressed that LeVan and his team were able to capture it all! We also had a large wedding party and tons of people and they captured everything. We did the «same day edit» video that they offer and it was hands down the best decision in the world. The video literally had every person tearing up at the wedding and even weeks later people are still watching it over and over again (with tears). Spinning Leaf did the most AMAZING job at our wedding. LeVan and his team are very professional, but laid back at the same time. They make you feel completely comfortable, and you literally forget they are there.
LeVan & the rest of his team captured all of Ryan and I’s special moments and even surprised us with a «Same Day Edit» that they showed at our reception. It was a really special touch and had us all in tears (Again).

I wish I could give more stars because Levan and Brandon are absolutely amazing! My fiancé and I hired them to do our wedding and also to do a ‘Save the Date’ video but they went a step further and even did a video of our engagement photo session which can be found here:
They take a lot of time into what they do and you can really tell by the high quality results. We are working on our ‘Save the Date’ video right now and I can’t wait to see how that turns out along with our wedding video. Not only are they great videographers, but they are so fun to work with and have a very positive and energetic personality. As far as prices go, they are very reasonable and totally worth it. If you’re planning a wedding, make sure to include this great production team into your budget!
