Split Ends

I would always spend too much on my hair. When I first came here I wasn’t expecting much but then I came out with the best haircut ever. It was better and for just a fraction of what I used to spend. I never got my nails done or feet because I don’t trust people with that so I do them myself but getting my hair done here is worth it.

I got the best cut in years for a great price, and my husband comes here as well. I do my own nails, so I can’t speak for that, but for hair I definitely recommend Split Ends. I agree with another reviewer that their reception situation can be a bit chaotic, but they do take walk-​ins. They are open on Mondays and lots of holidays, and not as stuffy as a lot of salons in the area.

I will never be coming back here. This was my first try at getting my nails done since I moved to Austin from Nashville 2 weeks ago and I came here because my apartment complex has a discount setup with them. I got here at 9:30 and have been the only person here… it is now 11:40 and I am still not done with a basic manicure and pedicure. The woman who did my nails xompletely filed all of my length off after I asked her to leave them long, as she said she thinks they looked better this way. She would get up and answer the phone and take forever to come back to me. While she was doing my nails a man xame in for a haircut and she never even acknowledged him, so he eventually left. Then when it came time to pick a color for my toes she and the other lady coukd not figure out what colors were what in the bottles after letting me chose off their color wheel… I still ended up with a different color than I chose. Then while doing my pedicure the woman grabbed the UV dryer and stuck it on the foot rest for me to hold with my feet… with water and the threat of electrocution sitting inches below! She never spoke to me but would just grab my feet and shove them wherever she wanted them. While cleaning up my polish, she would take the brush and also use it to wipe spilt paint off tables and other surfaces then try to use them on my toes again… I had to ask several times for a new/​clean brush after she did this. I have toes and fingers that are bleeding because they did such a poor job. Then to top it all off they would not give me my discount and when I asked why they said they did, but the price did not refelct that. So after arguing with them for 10 minutes I simply paid full price and will NEVER be back.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The owners mother did my nails. Before she could even finish I told her to stop and to take them off. I’m normally very easy going but she cut me twice. The set she put on was ugly and she made me file my own nails because she couldn’t figure out how to file them. I thought what I wanted was simple but apparently not. She ruined my «me day» and made it about how sucky this place was.
