We specialize in full-​service auto repair and maintenance from brakes, alignments and tune-​ups to engine repair. We are a Texas State Inspection Station and offer free estimates on repairs. I found StopShop after a debacle at Pep Boys. I called them up and they said they could get me in same day, no problem. I got there and met Daniel and his wife and the guys working there. Everybody was super friendly and welcoming. The place has been cleaned up quite nice and they make it inviting with a Keurig, WiFi, and a TV in the waiting room. Daniel is a guy who likes to keep his client (s) informed. Throughout the time I was there, he’d come in and give me an update and take me out to the bay and SHOW ME what was going on. I ended up getting some things fixed that I didn’t even know was wrong (I’m not car savvy in the slightest). I got an engine torque mount replaced, a tune up and a few other things done and the price was modest in the most sincere way. While getting work done, Daniel’s wife even gave me a ride home so I didn’t have to wait at the shop for a few hours. My only gripe is that I didn’t get what I came in for fixed. I am VERY grateful for getting things fixed that were just as, if not more important done at a reasonable rate. That said, I think I found my new go to mechanic.

Needed to have an alignment done on one of our cars. Checked with several places, and they either wanted to make an appointment for several days later, or wanted to charge $ 100 or more to do the alignment. I originally went to check out Speedy Align, but they were closed today for some reason. Found StopShop via Unilocal,and the location was close to where I was. Gave them a call, and found out that there would be no waiting if I came by.
Shop is very clean and attractive. Waiting area is spotless, and equipped with a Keurig machine, large TV, comfortable couches, and free wifi. I was quickly greeted by the lady at the front desk, as well as one of the mechanics. Very impressed, so far.
Here’s the best part… They will actually do a full check of your alignment for FREE! Then, if you indeed need the service, they will discussing the pricing and details with you, including a diagram that shows exactly what adjustments need to be made, etc. Top it off with the best price I’ve found in town for a 4 wheel alignment ($ 65) and a 20 minute turnaround time… and I’m a fan!
Go by and check this place out… they are some great people!

LOVE this place! As a woman who has gotten the run around at many of the other shops in this area (I’m looking at you Pep Boys) I brought my car here when it started dropping the brake pedal to the floor and skidding overnight. The front desk girl was super nice, and got my car looked at ASAP and it turned out I had a hole in my brake line (yikes!) They called around and were able to locate a line for me at 4pm on a Saturday! They got to work on it as soon as they received the part! In the meantime, I used the free wifi to get some work done on my tablet! Very happy customer! I found my new mechanic shop! Thanks StopShop!

do not go here! i went in for an oil change and state inpsection «bad idea» i furnished my own oil and when i went to pick it up they said it only took 6 quarts and that filled it up «wrong» a 2009 hemi takes 7 quarts, i had 7 in the vehicle but they did not put them all in and tried to convince me 6 was all it needed. they also charged me for a half gallon of anti freeze that i did not authorize, i had already checked my fluid levels prior to taking it in and it was not low. this is a typical scam shop no wonder their bays are always empty. they also put my inspection sticker on crooked so it looks stupid on the windshield. nothing i can do about it now but warn you great austinites not to take a chance at this place.

BEST mechanics in Austin. I went to Yost before, the supposedly most honest mechanics in town and was let down over and over but these guys are who I will recommend hands down to anyone. They looked at my car immediately. They definitely had the opportunity to overcharge me, as my 2007 aveo was sending off a ton of codes. It came down to my gasket leaking on the spark plugs and the engine’s computer so most of the codes weren’t real. They were quick on the turn around and said that if the rest don’t clear when I drive it they would make any necessary repairs, but weren’t going to make those upfront and have me pay for something that may not even be broken. They were super patient, kind and honest with me. I would get in with them now, because I see a Best of Austin nomination in their future.

Dan, Daylen, and Christi have taken very good care of me and my car. I will be a regular customer! Prices are fair, waiting room is comfy and clean. Dan, diagnosed the draining transmission fluid as a problem with a hose. Didn’t need a new rack and pinion. Thank goodness! Dan called several weeks after the work they did to see how my car was doing. I really appreciate their honesty and goodwill.

Awesome shop! They work really fast, are super friendly, and give you a super good price! Their couches are really comfy and they offered to turn the tv on and make popcorn for me! Definitely going here for all of my car needs! :)
