I really wish I had read the reviews on this business before contracting them. We hired them to build a gazebo and outdoor kitchen, They did do very nice work, however, they left a few things unfinished, I tried to get them out for a couple of weeks but they were always busy on other jobs. I finally gave them a deadline two days in advance. They did not show so I wrote a letter terminating their contract. The project had already run a month over the finish date.
The owner, Josh, called me and started screaming at me on the phone. I hung up. He called back and started screaming again and I hung up again. He was very belligerent and abusive on the calls (which I recorded by the way). He then texted me and wanted to come finish the job. I will not allow someone who speaks to me this way on my property. I then received crazy texts calling me names and accusing me of some really wild things. We still owe a small amount on the invoices he gave us and will deduct the cost of having the work completed from this amount before he gets paid any more.
Overall the work was good, the experience with this contractor was deplorable.

beautiful patio but it slopes towards the house and causes flooding. The house did already have flooding but this was supposed to fix the issue. Josh is a good guy, but the basics of building a patio are to have it slope away from the house, and not form large pools of water right up against the house — water seeps in through the edges and now I’m pretty sure there is mold in the walls. Again, BEAUTIFUL work, but the attention to detail with the sloping and low level of the house has continued to be an issue. I will need to seek out another contractor to add additional drains and possible raise foundation to resolve the issue.

I hired Josh and Sublime for a backyard outdoor kitchen project. Josh actually hired two other contractors to do the work. The work the subs did was very good. However, Josh came to me with several changes in price and feature’s. While I kept track of the changes, Josh did not. At completion I actually had to remind Josh of what was done and for how much. Josh then presented me with a final bill that was significantly higher than my total. He became rude, and aggressively belligerent. While the work was good, overall not a good experience with this contractor.

I had a coupon deal. Once I was able to connect with Josh, I was in good hands. He responds better to texting than voice mail.
The service came out on the same day I called in a logo’d pick up and trailer, marked off sensitive areas of my lawn with wire flags, and got busy. They cut the grass, edged, and trimmed bushes, collecting a pile of leaves and branches that filled a large tarp that went in the back of the trailer. They did a few extras on request, like cutting down the pampas grass clusters, aerating & fertilizing the grass, Very professional. Will definitely use again.

My husband negotiated and got a quote. We used them for over a year and my constant complaint was that they never carried the equipment to trim the 3 bushes that we have in front of our lawn. This is something that I probably ask them to do once every 2 months at the most. I had emailed the owner a couple days before they came asking him to trim the bushes. I wanted to make sure they brought the equipment when service was due. They came with NO equipment. I was told by his staff that they would do it next time they came to my house. They finally trimmed my 3 bushes and to my surprised Josh Bailey (the owner) was present. He introduced himself to me and started saying that I have been asking his workers to trim the bushes every time they came and that it was going to be reflected on my bill. I disagreed and told him that the reason I asked for it many times was because they never carried the equipment with them to do that service. Then we started talking about the quote he had given to my husband and said that the price for trimming my 3 medium sized bushes had changed. We disagreed on the initial quote, although he gladly was collecting the same amount of money for over a year for the same type of service. He became agressive and sarcastic. Anyhow, I decided to fire him on the spot and to my surprise the man called me a B%^%^&%^ (a female dog). I am still shocked to this moment. I can’t believe this was the type of people I was letting into my home. No stars from me!

Initially, the company did not respond to multiple calls, texts and e-​mails. After more than a week of attempts, I was able to contact Josh. He was able to find my messages, and scheduled me for the next week. My yard was not mowed in the appointed time frame, nor was I contacted anent the delay. After waiting a few days, I mowed it myself.

I’ve been contacted twice in the past few months by the business owner. He is threatening me with legal action if I do not remove my review. What he doesn’t realize is that my review is not libelous in any way and I’ve made sure my review follows Unilocal guidelines. I have proof I was a client and everything I stated is absolutely true. To the business owner, if you are reading this, good luck convincing an attorney to file a suit. To people who would even consider using Sublime Lawn, think of what you will be getting into beforehand. Several reviews on this business have already been removed because users were strong-​armed into doing so.
