Tan Etc

This place is awesome… I love going there every day on my lunch hour and getting to relax. Casey is always so helpful and friendly with a smile on her face every time I come in the door.

Not sure how long this place has been open but wish I found Tan Etc a few years ago. All the money I would have saved!
I usually use the Verapro spray tanning machine. It’s fast and gives an even tan each time. I’m on a monthly membership (of which I can cancel whenever with a months notice) and pay on $ 40ish per month for unlimited spray tanning! That’s how much I use to pay for a single spray tan! Rooms are always clean and staff is friendly.

Clean and convenient for Northwest Hills neighborhood. The staff is nice, but not helpful or accommodating… same experience on multiple occasions.

I’ve been to a couple of the locations and each visit the staff is always super friendly! The pricing on different membership are also extremely reasonable which I love!

I have been coming here for years. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service. Their Versa Pro is the best I have found in town leaving no streaks or lines. I would highly recommend coming here for your tanning needs.

Super amazing place to tan! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Beds and rooms are kept very clean and you can find good, well-​priced lotion here too. They’re also super flexible about when and how long you need to freeze your account for any reason. I’ve tanned at different locations for almost ten years and would definitely recommend this place.

This is my go to tanning salon!!! Have a great lotion selection and their beds are amazing. Love their premier bed because it’s spacious and gets me great color!
Their memberships are by far the cheapest in town, literally pick up the phone and call them to find out for yourself! Employees are always flexible and willing to work with you so they can help you achieve the color you desire without breaking the bank. Must be part of being locally owned :)
If you’re looking for a quick tan the VersaPro booth is phenomenal with the heated drying and audio instructions. If you’re looking for more of a customizable spray tan then I would suggest to op towards the Airbrush options — All the technicians there are awesome!

Tan etc is a great tanning salon. They’ve got a variety of tanning beds that are always clean and easy to use and an awesome staff that makes you feel comfortable! I would definitely recommend this place if your looking for a place to tan!

If you walk in for a Versa (spray) at 7:46pm on a Friday they will tell you they’re closed. I drove 25 minutes in traffic to go there, out of my way. Quite frankly the Friday and weekend hours are ridiculous because that’s when you need to go. I’m not wearing a bathing suit on Tuesdays. Come on! I’ve had to go pay one-​off tans at other salons more than several times now. I’m considering cancelling after years with them just because of the silly hours. Makes no sense. Tan Etc., please close early Mon Tues Wed when nobody needs it, but for goodness sake stay open the latest you possibly can Thu Fri Sat and Sun.

I go to this location and the Great Hills one often and the staff is very friendly and helpful :) the prices are very reasonable and the tanning experience is personal and great quality. William is one of my favorite workers, but everyone is great :)

Great place to tan! I really like going here, the staff is really friendly and it’s a very convienent location for me! It’s always very clean there, and I like that they have a versa spa pro. Def recommended!

You can’t be the price, but you get what you pay for… The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They close at 9, but take the last tan 15 minutes before hand and then they will only let you tan for 10 minutes because they «have to leave at 9». If the employees leave at 9 then you really close at 8:30.

I know tanning is bad for you, right? Well sometimes, there’s a wedding, beach vacay, or a trip to Vegas where a tan body (or just not ghost white body) is necessary. I like Tan Etc because it’s cheap to buy single or multiple sessions, and you do not have to sign a contract or buy a package.
I have also had an airbrush tan here before. Sure, it’s a little awkward to stand naked (or in underwear) in front of a complete stranger… But the tan is excellent for 4 – 6 days. You have to make an appointment for this.
The beds are clean, mirrors/​fans/​radios in every room, and the staff is usually friendly.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! This place is a joke in this day and age!
I selected Tan Etc because I like to support a local business VS a chain, but I have never encountered such rude and childish customer service, laziness, and a different story every-​time I have called or been in store to try and get my account frozen and now finally cancelled.
If you are considering tanning here go spend the extra money for better customer service and for a business that actually values it’s customers and your hard earned dollar. STAY AWAY, far far AWAY!

Tan Etc has the most reasonable prices. The store is always clean and there is never wait. Employees are always friendly and helpful.

Love this place! I have been a member for about a year now and have no complaints. William is always extremely friendly and knowledgeable and is the only person who remembers my name and tanning preferences every time I come in. Also the new Versa booth is great!

I’m not a tanning expert by any means. I only do it before I go on beach vacations so I don’t get horribly sun burned and the whole vacation is ruined.
I’ve been to several different salons in Austin over the years and this one is my favorite for several reasons. First, it’s locally owned and there’s no corporate crap to deal with. No one tries to sell you $ 90 bottles of lotion. No one tries to get you to upgrade to something more than what you want. Second, it’s very clean and pleasant. I’ve never seen anything of concern. And third, it’s a really convenient location.
There’s always going to be some quirk with every tanning salon you go to. This one’s is the cancellation policy as other reviewers have noted. Just plan ahead.

Management is amazing & the girls are always super friendly and offer the best specials! I have been tanning here on and off for the past 3 years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The Far West location offers a variety of beds at different cost that fit your own budget, mystic tanning, and airbrush tanning at such an affordable cost with a wide variety of lotions to choose from!
From the service to how tan I get– I give Tan Etc 5 stars! I have referred all of my girlfriends and co-​workers there! Plus not to mention, there are so many convenient locations :)

This is a great place if you PLAY BY THEIR RULES. you definitely need to figure out how many months you want and plan out canceling your membership before you sign up. If you can do that *yes requires effort* then this place is a REALLY good deal. if you let them keep charging your card then yes you are going to be angry.
*****TO CANCEL******* — you must mail in a cancellation form (like others said) and they will cancel your membership 30 days after the postmark date on your certified letter. yes that is a huge pain — but if you will do it… tanning only $ 25 a month! works for me. Plus my 1^st month was half off ($ 12.98). So for 2 months of tanning (I am just tanning for my wedding/​honeymoon) its going to be $ 40. I have already filled out my cancellation form and put it in an envelope ready to go (with stamp) and a sticky note to myself saying what day to mail it off.
the place is clean & the staff is friendly/​nice. I like that you can use all 5 locations too. Play by their (stupid) rules and you will get a great deal. also if you tell them they can Freeze your account too, say for just the winter or for a month you plan on not doing it. just be aware!
