Business Owner

Lori Glidden is an Oklahoma native with a passion for the earth. She grew up on a ranch, and spent her childhood and high school years rodeo-​ing. Needless to say, she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty! Lori decided to go into business with herself in 2007, blending her passion for water conservation & working in the sun with her background in sales and customer service. Taurus Irrigation is now a thriving small business with a big heart. We are one of the few woman-​owned businesses of this kind, with state licensure and insurance, as well as membership to ALSA and TTIA. We continually attend irrigation workshops and lectures to stay on top of water issues, trends, and technologies. At TI, you’ll find that we have the highest integrity in craftsmanship and design.

Lori & her guys are really great at what they do! She is super knowledgeable and her customer service & follow up is stellar! I don’t know too many sprinkler service owners that would be so mindful of wasting water and teaching us all about water conservation & giving advice to turn off sprinklers and let grass just go native & not water the hell out of it for the sake of «the perfect green lawn» She really cares about the Austin water problem! And she stays informed about our shortage here in the Austin and surrounding areas and passes that knowledge on
to clients.

Taurus did the landscaping for a house I was looking at this summer, and it was beautiful. I didn’t end up buying the house, but I liked the work so much I asked the agent to ask the owners to let me know who did the job – Lori and Taurus Irrigation. Unfortunately, when I called Lori to set up a time to meet at the house I DID end up buying, she cancelled at the last minute the morning of (as I was on my way to the house) and did not return two further phone calls. I wanted to give her my business or at least the chance to earn it, but it seems like she’s not interested in new customers right now.

Taurus installed my irrigation system in 2008. This is the 4th house where I’ve had an automatic system, and Lori’s work is the definitely the best! Her work is top-​notch — utilizing her expertise on placement of sprinklers, what type to use for each specific location (lawn vs landscape, flat vs hill, etc.) and installing top-​quality components. If I ever need service, her men are out here in a flash. You absolutely can not go wrong with Taurus!

Bottom Line: Taurus is awesome.
I bought a house last spring and the yard was a total disaster. The old irrigation system had heads that didn’t work, broken lines, and a control panel that was literally from the 80s (it actually had knobs and dials). Having never dealt with a yard before, the entire project was super intimidating. But Lori came in and worked with me to put things back in order– she respected my budget and dealt ingeniously with water pressure issues. When my gardener broke a line, Lori came back to fix it. When I needed to rearrange parts of the system to do new plantings in the front, Lori reworked things. And when I landscaped the backyard, Lori designed additional zones that worked seamlessly with the new plantings and didn’t waste water.
In sum: work with Taurus. They are honest, efficient, capable, friendly, and will be with you for the long-​haul.

I used Taurus to install irrigation in my xeriscaped front yard. They were prompt, competitively priced, and did an excellent job. Despite having pre-​ordered parts for an overall drip system, Lori was more than accommodating when I decided, at the 11th hour, that a single-​emitter system would better fit my needs. (This was due to the fact that I ended up planting larger and more isolated plants than I had originally intended.) She ordered the new parts and got the whole job done the next day, and actually charged me less as the single-​emitter parts were slightly cheaper! Her crew was very efficient and courteous. At six months later, I am still very satisfied with the workmanship, quality of materials, and the excellent overall value that I received. I highly recommend this company.

I got several quotes for my sprinkler system and I don’t always go with the ‘cheapest’ as I shop for quality and a good price. I chose Lori as she was on time, courteous, and spent alot of time with me as I asked alot of questions. Lori and her team were professional and put in my sprinkler system in one day, as promised. Lori called several weeks after job was complete just to make sure everything was working as I expected. Great customer follow up! I highly recommend Taurus Irrigation!
