I am new to the Austin area (Texas in general) and Terry was the second hairdresser I tried out in the area. She has won me over as a client and I plan to return. I loved my color and she did an amazing job on the cut. As Terry said ‘anyone can cut hair, but only a few people can do it well’. So true, and Terry is one of those few.

I have thick, wavy/​curly and often frizzy hair, so I often dread getting my hair cut. Every once in awhile I find a stylist who appreciates my hair for what it is, and I heave a big sigh of relief and sit back and let them do their thing. But unfortunately this is a pretty rare experience.
Most of the time I end up getting my hair cut by someone who is determined to beat it into submission and turn it into a cookie-​cutter version of the straight, smooth hairstyle that they think everyone should have. Unfortunately, Terry seems to fall more into the «battle thick and curly hair» camp than the «let the hair do its natural thing» camp.
She asked me how I like to wear my hair, and I told her that I like to wear it curly/​wavy. She smiled and nodded, and then proceeded to blow dry, flat iron, and style it into straightness, all the while criticizing my hair quite a bit (my bangs went too far back on my head, my hair was too frizzy, etc). Not a huge deal, mis-​styled hair is pretty easy to take care of, I just went straight home and washed it.
Terry seems to get rave reviews from everyone else, so maybe I just don’t represent her normal clientele. But it’s still something to keep in mind if you’re looking for someone who’s willing to appreciate your own personal style.

Having my hair done by Terry was an absolute pleasure! I had come to her with a Groupon for partial highlights, which was handled without issue, and proceeded to have the best hour and a half of my day! She was very pleasant to talk to, and her studio is just charming. She delivered beautiful, natural looking highlights, a quick bang trim, great hair advice and an all around pleasant experience. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Terry is fantastic! I’m 53 years old and have difficult to cut/​style celtic hair. I’ve moved around a lot in my life and have tried a lot of top notch hair stylists and Terry is at the top of my list. She is a great listener and she really knows her stuff when it comes to hair and hair products. She devotes her 100% attention to each client, she doesn’t take phone calls while she is working on you. She allocates the proper amount of time to each client so that she doesn’t keep you waiting and she doesn’t keep the next person waiting, like so many busy stylists do! She is my new stylist for life!

I’ve never had «good» hair before I started going to Terry. First, I didn’t even know what I really wanted, just a vague idea. During our initial consultation, she came to an understanding of what I was looking for and was able to make it happen. She also takes the time to explain how to replicate the look at home. Best of all, my hair looks great!

Looking for high-​end cut and color without the high-​end attitude? Call Terry. She’s a fabulous yet down-​to-​earth hair stylist. Not only does she listen carefully to your requests, she implements them with such skill and attention to detail. I miss her so much that I occasionally drive from San Antonio to Austin for touch-​ups. I’m sure the female executives and professionals she used to style in San Antonio miss her too.

Terry is fabulous! She has been doing my hair for almost 12 years. She has done colors and styles that always get raves. I’m still with her even though she isn’t in San Antonio anymore.
