What a pleasant surprise to step back in time to this neighborhood business. It is jammed with interesting products, friendly conversation, and unlimited product knowledge. While I didn’t hang around for long, you could just feel the vibe of the store and the owner. I think I could have hung out for quite a while if I had the time.
My ONLY complaint is that their hours of business are for the benefit of the owner and not potential customers. Don’t go by what the Internet says for their hours. Call before you go to make sure they are open. But in their defense, my guess is they’ve earned the ability to work when they want to. Good for them!

The guys at Tex-​Guns are extremely woman-​friendly. You can go in there knowing nothing about guns and they answer all your questions forthrightly without giving you the «little lady» treatment, which I’ve received at Cabela’s. They want educated, informed customers and will take the time to talk to you and show you whatever item you want to look at. Very affable, good-​looking guys who know their stuff and want to help any customer: From the grizzly guy walking in knowing exactly what clip he needs, to the novice (or not-​so-​novice) woman looking to buy her first gun. Tex-​Guns is a small shop packed full of product and has a light, chatty, friendly atmosphere. They sell guns, knives, and accessories, and they will direct you to gun safety and CHL classes, if needed. I love this shop!

They have always been friendly and helpful. They were the only ones to give me a decent price on a used pistol that I brought in for sale. They stood behind some factory defective ammo a few years ago and gave me a refund on what was left in the box, I plan to make them a priority in my future shopping needs.

I ordered a gun from
and was going to have it shipped to Tex guns because it is on my way home from work. I called them up and gave all the info they needed to get it shipped. The dealer had 2 day shipping so I expected to receive it on sat. but did not receive a call. Monday they are closed so I called again on tuesday to find out that they had not even contacted the dealer yet. I simply asked for a discount on the transfer and still do it there, and the person said no. I informed him that I would be writing a review and it didn’t even seemed like it mattered to him. Now it is a week later and I still don’t have my gun in the mail. I am a business owner myself and would never treat a customer this way. I will never be back.

Great bunch of guys that make you feel right at home (not something you find at every gun shop). Their knowledge is unmatched in any gun store in town. It’s like an encyclopedia! VERY friendly! Will show you the whole shop and answer all of your questions with enthusiasm!

Bought some bad 9 MM ammo made by a Buda ammo loader 2 years ago there, had defective squib loads (primers but no powder), wrote to Tex Guns and they gladly refunded my money. Small shop, but with lots of stuff. They have always come across as friendly, try to pickup ammo when I am there.

Knowledgeable staff, guns in good shape (and they can tell you what’s wrong if they aren’t), and when I say the staff are knowledgeable, I am talking effing encyclopedic! Great variety of guns – everything from big-​and-​honkin’ to wee little Derringer. They are cash or check only, so be warned. But shopping here for your next gun is worth it!

This place is proof that you don’t have to be a D#*K to own a gun store. The guys here are always nice and helpful. If you ask advice they don’t treat you like a moron for not knowing. It’s jam-​packed full of eye candy, and they don’t mind you looking around. I love this place. If they had a shooting range, I gaurantee Red’s would see a lack of business.

I was in the market for a revolver for home defense. I went to McBrides twice and never got to touch a gun or talk to a sales person. Ridiculous! I went to Red’s. The service was ok, but it is hard to concentrate on something when there are cannons going off in the room next door. Academy never had the gun in stock. I walked into Tex Guns and they immediately asked if they could help me and I had the gun I wanted to buy in my hand in less than 30 seconds. Their price was ten dollars higher than Academy and a little less than Cabelas. The shop is very small and they have a limited selection, but the service is the best around for a gun shop.

One of the finest little shops I’ve frequented. I’ve purchased several firearms from these folks. If you’re looking for quality used firearms these are the guys you need to see, the items they have are in excellent shape @ competitive prices & they are LOCAL!

This place blew me away with how nice Charlie, one of the owners, was (pun intended).
He was able to help us with an old gun that we had and he was very polite, funny, and experienced. He knows what he is talking about.
This is a small store with abundant gun-​relative merchandise.
He had some terrific deals on a wide arrange of hand guns, glocks, large pepper sprays, accessories, and ammo.
He will trade with you, too, or at least, give you a salvageable offer.
Anyone interested in guns should check this place out!

Great gun store if you like off brand guns and high prices. They have a good selection of home defense shot guns but they were overpriced compared to the other gun stores in town.
My particular complaint was yesterday when I went in to trade a rifle for another gun was that they offered me about 40% of what the gun was worth. The industry standard is that a gun is worth about ²⁄₃ of the new price if it is in good condition. The place felt more like a pawn shop than a gun store. Needless to say, I picked up my rifle and left.

You may have seen the ‘Just Guns’ sign up on the roof of the now defunct Factory People — Tex Guns is very much like Just Guns once was.
Before designer clothing and organic vegan fusion cuisine, SoCo was a bit seedier, a bit slummier, and home to an awesome little gun shop.
A few weeks after my eighteenth birthday, I walked into Just Guns, and 27 minutes later, walked out with 12 gauge auto Remington Mohawk.
Sadly, Just Guns is no longer with us — but Tex Guns is a decent substitute for all your firearm needs.
