I started this business in 1986 with one goal in mind. Sell only the highest quality energy efficient products and use the best installation teams available and do it all at a reasonable price to our customers. As a homeowner I want the greatest value for my dollar when investing in home improvement products. I also don’t believe in sacrificing quality to save a few up front dollars. I believe energy efficiency and return on investment is the ultimate goal. I believe it’s in all of our best interests to try and reduce energy consumption as much as possible. No one wants more coal burning power plants spewing more pollution in the air. Texas Home and Commercial was amazing! I had been looking to replace west facing windows in my two-​story house for a while. I had several other companies give estimates, which turned into hard sales. When Liz, the sales rep came out the tone was very conversational and it was clear she wanted to give me information to make an informed decision. No pressure at all to upgrade. The price was mid-​range from the other estimates and I was confident about the product and attention I would get.
Dana and her crew were at the house for installation within 5 weeks of placing the order. They were extremely professional over the 2 days they were doing the installation. They cleaned up everything inside and out!
I only replaced the windows on the back and when I want to replace the other windows, there is no question I will be going back to this company.
I love my windows and am already realizing saving in energy bill! Thank you Derrick and team!

Not only did we have aging windows, we had windows that did not open and did not close. One week after ordering 14 Extreme windows, Dana’s installation crew showed up bright and early. They did an amazing job of fitting in windows where there had clearly been settling of the foundation. They cleaned up each day of the two day job. The guys were very pleasant to have around, and I found it quite fascinating to watch the process.
The house is now quieter and warmer– so fabulous to have gotten rid of all those drafts– and the view of the outdoors is stunning through our new windows. We are so pleased. Thank you.

Texas Home and Commercial (THC) is an owner/​operated firm and their dedication to customer satisfaction is priority number one. THC presented a competitive bid and ultimately was chosen to install 13 windows in our home. Everything about the entire process with THC was pleasant, beginning with the initial call to the hospitable and competent receptionist (Myrna). The owner of THC (Derek) was very compliant with my schedule and he showed up to provide an estimate at my convenience and was on time. Derek was a wealth of information and is eager to educate the homeowner about the nuances of windows. He is articulate, polite, and professional. His bid was competitive however not the lowest of the 3 bids I obtained, yet we ultimately decided to proceed with THC due to the earnestness of Derek, the company owner and the generous warranty he provides on his windows.
Although we have only had the windows for one month now, it seems the quality of the windows is rock-​solid and the installation process was… dare I say it… almost enjoyable! Derek employs his own dedicated crew headed by Dana that was punctual, professional, empathetic to our needs, paid attention to detail, and polite. What more can be asked for?
We have more windows to install and THC will definitely get our repeat business. Our thanks to Derek and his company. Please keep these values as your success is sure to grow exponentially.

This company is very unprofessional! They did so much damage to our home installing new windows. We were advised to stop payment on the check and only then did they agree to try and repair the damage. We repeatedly asked the owner to come and inspect the damage and he refused. Which made us feel he has no concern for the customer at all. I am a retired Marine after 26 years and honesty trust and respect are number 1. We feel people should be warned about this company before anyone else goes through the nightmare that we went through. These people did not respect our home at all. They had to barrow our tools and our ladder.
My wife walked in to find one person on the crew cooking his lunch in our kitchen without even asking. All the woodwork around our front door and windows were damaged so badly it all needed to be replaced and all they could say was that’s the way we’re leaving it, it’s up to you to fix it.
Be warned, the owner has a great sales pitch. Don’t be fooled by his fake insincere friendly talk. Any reviews written about this company must have been written by the company owner or friends because their work is so horrible they do not deserve 1 star, period.

Great company! Had them out for a consultation and we thought we already knew what we wanted. Other companies had just given us quotes based on our specs. Turns out our plan was awful and he explained to us for over an hour the things we could do differently to improve it. We ended up using their windows (which have been awesome and very energy efficient and soundproof) and went with a contractor they recommended (JP construction for the construction and install). We couldn’t be happier with that decision and the result. It’s almost perfect! If we not contacted them, we would have ended up with something very inferior for about the same price.

The recent rain has been wonderful. What hasn’t been so wonderful is the water that has started pouring into the house above the windows and doors. I immediately reached out to Texas Home & Commercial for help. Dennis came out to check on things, and, much to my relief, gave me an easy to understand plan of approach. He gave me an honest answer that we probably don’t need to rip everything out and start over, and went above and beyond to explain how we can do the repairs ourselves (assuming we don’t find any more surprises along the way). Even though we probably (hopefully) won’t need to hire them to re-​side our house, he asked me to follow up with him to make sure our DIY improvement goes smoothly. And all that while being incredibly warm and friendly. How refreshing! Thanks Dennis!

I needed a larger window put in and was calling around for quotes. I called Texas Home & Commercial based on all the great 5-​star reviews they got on Unilocal and the fact that they work with Simonton windows. I spoke with the owner, Derek, over the phone and he was really nice and personable. Based on the impression I got over the phone, I’m thinking this might be the guy to do the job for me. So I make an appointment to have them come out to the house and give me a quote.
A few days later, a sales person came out to the house. I was running a bit late so that probably set things off on the wrong foot. He gives me the hard sales pitch which really rubbed me the wrong way. Then he took out a coupon from Angie’s list and said it was good only for 1 day and that I needed to make up my mind if I wanted to take advantage of the savings. First off, his quote (including coupon) was outrageously high. It was just a window enlargement with a 3×5 window. When I said I needed time to think about it and get other quotes (cause my mama told me… you gotta shop around), he got annoyed with me. He kept mentioning that they do commercial quality work. Well, I just need a residential window.
My rating here is based on the pre-​sales experience. I can’t comment on their work.

Round two with Texas H&C to install hardy plank siding and paint our house. Outstanding job all around. They finished a day early, cleaned everything up to better-​than-​before status, and communicated better than any other contractor we have ever used. I wouldn’t even consider using anyone else for windows, doors, or siding.

Interviewed various companies, spent hours on the computer researching plus/​minus of window products, installers, etc. Decided on the Simonton 9800’s and selected Texas Home & Commercial. They did not disappoint! From the owner, Derec Bakerk of TH&C, to the measurer, Steven and the installers, Steven and Kelly, they were totally customer centric! Example: on the last day, I noticed a slight whistleing occuring in the front dining room window (south wind that day). I brought it to the attention of Steve who problem solved it by moving the window 1/​8″. As a rule, I do not give out 5 stars but in this case, it is deserved.

We purchased Simonton 9800 windows from Texas Home and Commercial about 3 years ago. At that time, we had about 6 other contractors involved in our remodel. Texas Home and Commercial was by far the best contractor we dealt with. The crew was incredibly detailed, courteous, and careful. We could not have asked for a better experience!
We are now doing siding and our previous experience with Texas Home and Commercial definitely influenced our decision to go with them for our Hardie siding. That makes me a repeat customer after our initial job three years ago, and I think that says something!
