History

Established in 2002.

Texas Hydroponics & Organics was founded by Tom Marek in 2002 in Central Austin. After seeing a need for a professional approach to the indoor gardening market, we opened the first store in 400 sq. ft. with a small inventory to choose from. After 6 years in business, we have grown into the largest indoor gardening chain in the U.S. with four stores across Texas and are proud to offer the largest selection of in stock gardening equipment. Zack and Chris are awesome. Huge selection. The second we walked through the door they answered all of our questions and couldnt have been more helpful or entertaining. Even if you don’t make a purchase eveytime they have tons of advice and are willing to go the distance to get what you need.

These guys are awesome! I needed some helping growing seeds into transplants for my vegetable garden.
Had to wait a minute for Chris to finish with another customer but I was glad I did. He was very interested in providing a reasonable solution to my problem and not up selling me on a bunch of stuff I didn’t need.
I definitely recommend these guys to anyone trying to grow anything indoors.

Just want to drop a line. I love this store. Sometimes I just stop by to peruse and check out the equipment. They’re good to me every time! This North Store location is OFF-​THE-​CHART w/​inventory. I seems they’re the central hub for all the Texas Hydroponics, or something.
They have pallets of everything you need and can walk you through indoor, outdoor, hydroponic and/​or organics.
They can also walk you through complicated procedure like propagation, tracking mineral content, pH, and more.
Zac seems to run the store and he’s super down-​to-​earth and never comes across as dogmatic when it comes to methods. I appreciate this b/​c there’s a million ways to go hydro or organic and he’ll roll w/​whatever technique you’re into… AND offer suggestion in line w/​this. Are you trying to keep things cheap, these guys can walk you through starting out cheap and staging into something affordable.

Lots of inventory here — it’s definitely a bit more of a professional set-​up compared to some other places we’ve been.
The people working here and wonderful and super knowledgeable. The prices seem reasonable, and you can’t beat the convenience of having them right here in our city, instead of having to order online.
The parking lot is small, so if you’re coming here during rush hour or on a Saturday, you might have to park elsewhere and walk over.

I hope I’m not the only veggie gardener who knows about this amazing place! We just got back from our first visit to TH (C?), and it was awesome! This is our second time starting veggies from seed and after the horror that was our first time, we didn’t want to make the same mistakes. Luckily, TH was there to save us! They had all the good stuff… Mini-​hothouse seed tray with vents, seed starting medium, awesome pro growlights, and heating pads for our seedlings. We also were given some great advice about adjusting water ph to ensure happy seedlings, and a handy kit to do it with.
I loved the store, and the garden out back. The folks were friendly and helpful, even though I only have a tiny garden, and wanted the smallest sizes of everything. Overall it was as good an experience as I could ever hope for!
