History
Established in 2010.
The creation of two lifelong friends, John A. Hay III and J. Bradley Compere, the firm opened its doors in January 2010.
«Some lawyers don’t see eye-to-eye or communicate well with their staff. We all grew up together, and John and I went to summer camp together, so it’s no surprise that we make such an effective team,» says Compere.
Hay, a former managing member of the mortgage company Level Funding LLC, holds a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in real estate, mortgage, and property law. Compere has practiced law since 2001, focusing on real estate, construction, business, and commercial litigation.
«A lot of the larger law firms have hired attorneys from outside the Austin area who don’t understand the Austin attitude or how this city does business, says Hay. «I’ve lived here for nearly twenty years, Brad and I both went to UT, and we understand the pulse of Austin.»

Prior to forming the firm, Mr. Hay spent over seven years in the mortgage industry, most recently as a managing member of Level Funding, LLC, a company rated in the Austin Business Journals’ Top 20 Mortgage Companies in Central Texas. As an active member of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, Mr. Hay held both the Lending Integrity Seal of Approval for ethical practices and the esteemed Certified Mortgage Consultant (CMC), the highest level of certification and held by less than twenty brokers in Texas. In addition, he held his Real Estate License for over three years with Resident Realty, LLC.
Mr. Hay graduated from The University of Texas School of Law, in Austin, Texas, in May 2008 with concentration in real estate, mortgage, property and business law and became certified as a mediator in Texas.
Mr. Hay is active in various philanthropic endeavors, including the Lone Star & Angels annual event in Austin, Texas benefiting St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
