The Home Depot

I really like this Home Depot it’s clean and friendly. Well lit, organized and has just about everything I’ve needed so far for home projects!

After leaving my review, I contacted the email address provided, gave the order number and sku’s to the items in question. Even AFTER providing that information, when I received a reply it was in reference to two COMPLETELY different windows! I still have not received a response after replying twice after the initial email. I am still extremely disappointed and am happy to say that I now do all of my shopping at Lowe’s and am treated with much more respect and feel like a valued customer.

Normally a go to place for me. However needed to have a vehicle key copied on short notice before going out of town and they were completely out of the correct key blank. Expect better inventory control at a big box store.

This is my favorite Home Depot primarily due to its proximity to our house. The service is slightly better than a few other locations I have been to. I have always found what i am looking for.
If not in a rush for something I do usually also check amazon for similar products. If time is not an issue things are usually cheaper there.

This place closes at 9, not 10, on Saturdays. You might change the Unilocal hours because I showed up before 10 and it was closed.
Other than that, I’ve never had a bad experience here, and it’s close to my house. Employees are nice. They could know a bit more about their departments than they do (and it always seems difficult to find staff in specific departments), but it beats Lowes any day of the week.
This is my favorite HD I’ve been to in Austin.

Do not buy an appliance from Home Depot — if you have a problem (which we did) within the 1 year you can have it serviced — if the issue doesn’t get fixed then 1 year and a day later expect to pay 200 to get the same issue serviced with zero help!
This is not the support anyone would expect.

I have four «homes»: there’s my actual home — you know, the place where I eat and sleep and store all my junk — and then there’s my three other «homes,» the places where you can probably find me if I’m not at my real home. Those places would be H-​E-​B, Target, and the Home Depot, in order of most visited, otherwise known as «Why am I always here?»
I always find myself working on some kind of project and I’ll need something, so it’s just a quick little trip to Home Depot that turns into an hour-​long shopping session because of course I have to check out the garden center and, hey, come smell this flower and oh, my god, did you see that little gnome? Duh, we also need to look at the power tools because #lifegoals.
They always have what I’m looking for, no matter what it is. Nails? They have all kinds, shapes, and sizes. Garden stuff? Yep, got that, too. Tools? Whatever your little heart desires. This week, I’ve purchased a shop vac, staples, extension cords, and a belt sander. You know, for projects, like vacuuming out cars or dirt that your kitten knocked over on the cream colored carpet or hanging up Christmas lights and, let’s be real here, who doesn’t need a belt sander? They’re just so useful.
The garden section is my personal favorite because Home Depot has a nice selection of succulents. I had to stop buying them because the damn dog ATE all of my beautiful plants, so that hobby got put on the back burner until I can find a place to hide the plants from all animals. Seriously. He ate all of them, even my cacti. What a jerk.
I also find myself in the lumber section all the dang time because we are constantly building things, like cornhole boards and a vertical planter for the garden and other odds and ends. Tonight, John built himself some kind of stool so he could hang up the Christmas lights. Why he wouldn’t just buy a step stool or even a ladder, I have no idea. Guess he wanted to feel manly and build something, but I better get out there and supervise, that way if he does fall and break his neck I can at least be right there to call an ambulance. Or drive his butt to the hospital and laugh the whole way. You know, whatever works.
Everybody that I’ve asked for help here is always super nice. Earlier this week, when picking up said shop vac, they were out of the 14 gallon Ridgid ones on the bottom shelves, but there were a few hiding on the very top shelves. Gerry was super helpful and got a ladder and brought one down for me. I felt bad that he had to go up there in the first place, but he said it wasn’t a big deal at all. And boy, I tell you what, that shop vac is gosh darn amazing. You need me to vacuum something for you? Because I will do it as long as I get to use my super awesome shop vac.
Thanks for making all of my life goal dreams come true, Home Depot, and for selling shop vacs because those things are heaven on Earth.

The MANAGER hung up on me in mid-​sentence because I was explaining that their idiotic policy of changing their store hours at the same time that Daylight Stupid Time takes effect is idiotic, and that they might at LEAST want to update the Unilocal page, since they apparently close at 21:00 «in winter», not 22:00 as listed.
Tonight’s uncalled for rude phone manners by the guy who should be setting the example was just the last straw.
I’ve never gotten any good help here either since (Roland? Ronald?) the guy with MS retired. He may have been hard to communicate with, but he was by far the smartest person in this idiotic store. Now it’s staffed by fools and run by a jerk!
Buy as little as possible here. They certainly renewed my distaste for them tonight. And I’ll be renewing my Ace Hardware card and heading over to Breed much more often now.

Meh. This is my least favorite HD in Austin. I prefer Woodward in a pinch and when I really need to buy a bunch of crap, I go to the one in Sunset Valley. This location is closest to my new home, so I’m stuck with it.
In the past, I have noticed that the staff at this store are not as helpful or knowledgeable as the other stores. A few months ago I was looking for the child outlet covers you put in all he outlets when your baby starts crawling. I asked an employee at the end of the child safety aisle, since I didn’t see them with the rest of the child safety items. I was directed to electrical, in the far corner. No luck. Another employee there tells me to go back to child safety after all. He, at least, surmised they were out of stock.
Recently, we moved. (Closer to this Home Depot, unfortunately.) I needed blinds for a window, specifically, 34 ¾″ wide. I would have been willing to take the 34 ½″ wide ones out of the box and call it good enough, but they were out of stock, which meant I’d have to go to a wider width and have them cut down, which meant looking for an employee to cut them. Fortunately, the wait wasn’t too bad, but when I asked to have ¾″ removed from the blinds, the associate told me, «I’ll just take the ¾» off one side, okay?” No buddy. That’s NOT okay. You can cut 3/​8″ off each side so the strings aren’t lopsided. Geeez. Who wants lopsided blinds? I’m already replacing crooked curtain rods.
Hence, two stars. They can do a lot better.

I’ve been coming here regularly since it opened and always find everything I need. The free coffee is a nice perk too!
Today however was different. I had tons of shopping to do running from plumbing to hardwoods calculating on my phone all the way., then to bath cabinets to lighting and cleaning supplies… Whew! So I breathlessly check out, go to the truck & realize my phone is missing.
Damnit! I go in and retrace my steps. Quickly now, (because I’m getting nervous right around the third «stop»), & realizing how out of shape I am because I’m short of breath. Double damnit!
I see two home depot employees sitting at a station close by & explained my situation asking for help. «maybe you can ask over a loudspeaker if anyone found a phone? «The girl (didn’t get her name), called customer service for me. The man got up & WALKED WITH ME all through the store calling my number from his phone! Eventually someone answered. He said he didn’t expect someone to answer, but he was a home depot employee & this customer really needs her phone back! Whoever answered said they’d turn it in to customer service :) This Godsend employees name is Mark Tester. I think I’ll call his boss & gush a bit! Thanks for saving the day Mark !

Sexism at Home Depot. There really needs to be employee training in this area and if there already is I can’t tell.
«Why yes, this product is for me. Yes, I’m the one using it.» «I know it’s hard to believe my delicate feminine fingers can lift a paint brush! Guess what? I even know how to use a band saw! Shocking isn’t it!?»
Also, I am not «Sweetie» or «Sweetheart» or «Honey.» I am a 31 year old woman, not an 8 year child.

I am not Miss home improvement, but if I were I would head to Home Depot to find what I need! Aisle after aisle of what I call «stuff» to fix your home, office, back yard, dog house (human or canine), bird house. the possibilities are endless!
Signage is helpful to point you in the right direction.
I love Home Depot at Christmas time. They have the best selection of fresh noble fir Christmas trees in Austin that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
Home Depot is fun for kids too offering kid workshops where parents and kids can make things together.
Dogs are welcome. Pop corn is free and handy helpers are located almost in every aisle.

This location is probably my favorite because they have the most knowledgeable, friendly and easy to find staff. Usually you have to hunt someone down or if you want to make a key you have to stand and wait forever but, not at this location. This location is very clean, well stocked and organized. The lines move quickly at check out as well and they don’t just have the self check out lanes open!
I stop in here to get stuff for work projects and my personal project supplies. The only issue is the parking lot can get congested because it is too small. Also there are one way turns out of the parking lot so, make sure you can actually turn the way you want to go before exiting.

Home Depot is ok. It is the only place around that does what it does. I am giving these 5 stars to the stellar employee, Rose.
I was in a hurry and needed help finding 3 things. She took me around to all the products and helped me decide.
More business need employees like her. If Home Depot knows what is good for their customers, they will promote her.

I come here once a week or so. It’s located in East Central Austin and is so convenient. The staff is friendly. On almost each visit, a member of the staff will ask if I’m finding everything I need. Maybe they do that because I look lost in a hardware store. So far, this store has had everything I was looking for despite it being a smaller Home Depot. This Home Depot has long hours: M-​Sat is 6 am to 10 pm and Sunday is 8 am to 8 pm.
The only annoying thing about this Home Depot is that the driveway between the store entrances and the parking lot is narrow and almost always has trucks loading up, pedestrians walking through, and cars driving through. Cars and pedestrians really have to watch out for each other.

I have to say this is the worst managed and run Home Depot store around!!!
The service is terrible. I ordered a custom made patio door. They screwed up the first order. Then tried to charge me a restocking fee, after finally getting it reordered the new door had a cracked frame. Which they knew about and the manager, John denied they did it. However the dock foreman admitted it was done. So we ordered door 3. It came in with scratches on the frame!
I FINA, lay just gave up, accepted the door. I contacted the corperate offices. Explained the situation and was helped out with a refund of the restocking charge. Along with a
formal apology for the shoddy treatment and service I received.

I’m a sort of a «doing it by my self» kind of man, so I obviouly spend most of my time in the Timber section of this depot. Just last nigth my wife wanted me to fix a shelf that her ex husband accidently broke before. I said «huny, call me Bob Vila, becuz I can fix anything for you»
I hoped into my Tahoma and ran down 2 HD. As per usaul, I was ammediatly greeted for help, which I was happy to decline because I already knew what I needed to fix this shelf back up to its original conditon.
How ever, the «L» shaped bracket that I needed for the shelf was the HARDEST THING TO EVER FIND IN THS STORE!!!
You would think that the shelving styled «L» shape brakcet would be in the shelf section, but that aparently donet exist.
ANYWAY, after a long 20 minuet period of looking 4 the brackets, i found em in the hardwares
Over all, I wood recommend this Depot over the others as I can usually find what i want.

I’d love to thank the perverts working in garden center for creeping on me last week. It’s important to add that I was wearing zero makeup, frumpy comfy clothes, and messy unwashed hair.
Perhaps it’s my fault for asking questions about flowers… This guy was far from an expert. He did suggest lantanas for full sun. However he then said,
«Lantanas smell great, especially when they get wet.»
This was said in the creepiest way possible. I put down my items and left the store.
In spite of the leering, sex starved garden center employee, I still enjoy the Home Depot. Most of the employees have always been helpful and informative, just wanted to share my weird trip with Unilocal.Planning a return trip today, eyes down and shopping fast.

Went here for a few odds and ends. Their website usually says which aisle to look for stuff in, this time it let me down. Had to ask 3 people, two of which sent me in the wrong direction. The 3^rd was a lady who actually walked half way across the store to get me to what I needed, the first two guys were lazy and unsure. The 3^rd is the customer service I expect at any place, and it’s appreciated. The rest is the usual review, checked out in the garden section as it was faster.
