Specialties
I handle all levels of criminal cases in State court. The bulk of my practice is devoted to defending those charged with DWI, Assault Family Violence, Drug Cases, Theft, and Sex Crimes. There are many other discrete charges I handle on a regular basis so please call the office for a consultation regardless of the offense type. Additionally, I handle jail release and assist people who are being investigated – but have yet to be charged – by law enforcement. Finally, please know that I handle juvenile cases, expunctions, and parole matters.
History
Established in 2004.
After a brief career as a civil litigator in Dallas I finally was able to make the switch to practicing criminal law in 2001. I served as a prosecutor in Travis County for one year prior to embracing criminal defense. I honed my skills under the tutelage of another lawyer for a year and then realized my dream of self employment by opening my own solo practice in 2004. I am proud to say I have never spent a single dime on advertising and have maintained a busy practice purely on word of mouth. I could not have achieved this success with referrals without a reputation for going to the mat for every client. I try to treat my clients as I would a friend or family member in terms of my level of commitment to their cause and degree of compassion for their circumstances.

Virginia G.
Business Owner
On the personal side I grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and graduated from UNC in 1996. I went on to the University of Virginia School of Law where I graduated in 1999 and took my first job at Gardere in Dallas, Texas. While I loved the people with whom I worked at the firm, I had always known criminal law was my distinct passion. I was fortunate enough to meet my husband in Dallas and have the opportunity to relocate to Austin in 2001. I have worked in criminal law ever since. We have two beautiful children and are so thankful to be in Austin for good.
