When I need Laticrete products I am at their mercy b/c this is the only place in town that carries the premium Laticrete thin-set & Hydroban waterproofing for walk-in showers. No return policy for any cement products, which I can appreciate because I don’t want them to sell me cement that has been left outside in the rain before someone decided to return it. Small show room but fairly well organized. That being said, I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to shop here regularly. I was quoted different prices for the same thin-set on different occasions. When I showed sales person previous quote w/lower price they matched it but, why do I have to ask in the first place? Always call and confirm with people in warehouse that the products you want are in stock. I made the mistake twice of relying on sales people who assured me products were in stock but when I arrived later that day to load up, the product was not there.

(1) Nearly none of the tiles had prices marked(unlike The Tile Guy). (2) Small selection. Not nearly as much as, say The Tile Guy. (3) I tried to buy some mortar, but salesperson was unfamiliar with modified vs. unmodified mortar.(!) (4) Took a LONG time just to buy the mortar, and I had to order it through one person, take the slip to another person in another room to pay for it, and then take the slip out to the warehouse to actually get the bags. (5) During the 2014 elections, they put a massive«NORAIL» sign next to their building, which may be either a positive or a negative for you depending on your political persuasion.

Travis Tile has two speeds: slow and stop. If you want to work with a business 20 years behind with prices 25 percent higher than you can find on line go ahead. Two weeks for tile to deliver? Anyone can put a shingle up and pack a showroom full of manufacturer samples, but the true test of a business is service.

The sales staff was helpful without being pushy and it was an overall good vibe. Not the biggest selection I have ever seen, but who needs 4,000 variations on beige?

I’ve been here twice now for a small order on an obscure tile* and the staff and selection at Travis Tile are just fantastic. They’ve been around for 50 some odd years I think, locally owned, and their showroom and warehouse is easily found just south of Tamale House on Airport around 38th. Everyone there is incredibly helpful and even though I wasn’t looking specifically for it, just from browsing I know I’ll be back the second I need to re-tile a bathroom or kitchen, the selection is classic but with tons of modern earthy and unique tiles. *(So I went looking for baking stones to give to friends, FYI unglazed terra cotta is the way to go and for just a few bucks you can brick your oven for bread/pizza making rather than buying a professional«baking stone» from a kitchen store for tons more.)
